Jets ILB David Harris has been back to work as of last week, and it’s possible that the second year Jet could be in the line up this weekend against the Niners.
Harris, sidelined the last five games after having groin surgery, practiced Wednesday on a limited basis. This is his second week of practice and he’s making “significant progress,” according to Eric Mangini. Harris could end up splitting time with Jason Trusnik, who has seen spot duty. David Bowens, who has started in Harris’ place, could return to his role as a situational pass rusher.
Although the Jets have faced some good offensive lines in the past month, Bowens role as set out at the beginning of the season as a situational pass rusher is perfect for him. In that role, he plays with a very high level of intensity, and hit the QB a number of times causing disastrous results.
Bowens play on more downs during Harris’ injury has caused the team’s pass rush to drop off in passing situations. As good as it will be to have Harris back calling the signals (not necessarily this weekend) it will be equally as good to see Bowens wreaking havoc in sub-packages.

I want Harris back, I really do, but this week may be too soon.
Now for Bubba Franks, it’s now or never. -
I dont want to jinx us but other than Ainge, do we have nobody on IR. That’s incredible for this point in the season.

Bent, VG reminds me of the old joke: he should play End, Guard and Tackle. End of the bench, Guarding the gatorade and Tackling anyone not on the team who comes near it. Maybe that way he’ll get his first “sack.”

We dont need Harris this week but next week!!!!
We have to finish strong!!!
