You’ve just proven my argument. My initial post was about pass defense and that the Favre/Pennington comparison was not germane to the discussion. Yet, once again, you’ve shown that you are unwilling, or perhaps incapable of, arguing the merits of specific issues. Your constant labeling of posters offering anything other than the narrow view you hold as “Favre acolytes,” “worshippers,” etc. defines you as a failed debater. Do yourself a favor and look up the logic term, “ad hominem fallacy.” If and when you choose to engage in intellectually honest debate, I will happily discuss Jets matters with you. Until then, I will ignore you and would ask same courtesy.

Ok, sounds good. Lets deal with “intellectual honesty”

Coles has been double covered the last two games– Why hasn’t Farve found anyone clutch except Keller —while throwing two INT’s, zero TD’s with a QB rating slightly over 60% in the last two losess? I haven’t heard Zippo, Nada, Any “intellectual honesty” from you or all your Farve worshipers about this. Where is all this “intellectual honesty ” you refer to?

My problem with everything you post is that it lacks intellectual honesty. Everything you write is based on the supposition that the entire universe is built solely on a love/hate Pennington/Favre continuum. Your constant use of ad hominem fallacies against posters who don’t fit into your sadly narrow, black or white perspective of Jets matters is increasingly tedious.

I have read most of your posts and the problem I have with your premise in general is that, as a good acolyte, Farve, the high priest, is never the doer of bad things. We must first blame everyone and everything else first. I hate to tell you but our passing D has sucked throughout our 13 games so far. The reson we lost so bad was because for the second game in a row our illustrious QB was out played again, in plain english he sucked, and the D has not bailed him out. NO, ZERO PRESSURE, wide open D.

Other than the Thursday night OT win over NE, the Jets are 7-0 at 1 ET and 0-5 in all other games.

I reckon the Falcons-Raiders game that I inexplicably travelled halfway round the world to watch even though I dislike both teams was worse, but I feel your pain.

What’s clear to me is two things:

1) We have no emotion whatsoever. Similar to our coach. Our pass defense is the worst I’ve EVER seen a Jets team have. How we go from a terrible run defense last year, to having the worst passing defense in the NFL this year is beyond me. I personally think it comes down to coaching. I’ve seen enough. Sutton needs to go. It’s enough already. the 3 man rush just simply doesn’t work as we still CANNOT stop the pass.

2) We can’t win on the west coast. We don’t travel well. I would be STUNNED if we beat Seattle in two weeks. We’ve lost all 3 west coast games this year (san diego, Oak, SF). Terrible.

Worst game I’ve ever been to. The niners are not good and we made Shawn Hill and Isaac Bruce look like Rice and Montana. We also lost in the trenches on both sides. They wanted it more. Coaching has to change.

Please don’t address me without actually reading or responding to the actual premise of my post, which was essentially about defense. If your only interest is in having a 4th grade level, “My quarterback can beat up your quarterback,” type of whine-fest, kindly direct it elsewhere.
