Just a thought from a dolphin fan… The Jets move for Favre ultimately created this extra competition. If the Jets keep Pennington, the Dolphins likely would be 5-9 right now instead of 9-5, and the Jets likely would still be 9-5 with Pennington at QB and their only worry would be the Patriots which would be no real big deal. The Jets would only have to defeat Seattle and then beat a Dolphins team with no proven QB on the roster. The Jets would be assured the division championship with no contenders in their way. As it is though, Miami inherits a proven QB playing at a high level and distributes the ball well to his playmakers. Now all of a sudden Miami is a contender. Wow, what a stupid move by Jet’s management. Anyway, thanks for the gift. Green Bay would not even trade Favre to Minnesota because of the issue the Jets are now faced with. Not to mention, I am sure the Jets could have demanded a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Pennington but instead just gift wrapped him for their division rivals. Thanks again Jets

As a diehard Dolphins fan, I can only say that I love your front office and Mangini for making this move. You just keep on loving Brett, and cry when Chad takes us to the division title in Wk 17.

Pennington has never been the Jets problem, and those of you that don’t agree with Matt Lafflin on this topic problem need to have another drink, or 10.

Regardless of the Chad/Favre debate, we are at the point where Favre will have to produce to get us into the playoffs. From what I understand, that’s why we signed him. He has had two dismal games in a row, time for him to “lead” this team to victory.

If he can’t do that, then we must concede that it was a wasted year and we are no better than if we started Kellen all year. I realize that a wasted year in Jets life isn’t that much, considering we’ve had 40 of them in a row. Nonetheless, anything short of a miraculous finish and a deep playoff run makes the Favre signing a mistake.

I’ll say it one more time,The GB reciever’s are much,much better than the Jet’s reciever’s period!! The GB playing calling is better and more consistant………
Favre is the problem?? That’s pretty amazing when he only play’s ONE position…..When he coache’s,play’s special team’s and Defense by himself let me know!!

i have to agree with this article.i am a die hard jets fan and was pretty upset for what they did to chad he was not the problem.i really think that the jets are the problem and the head coach i think must go

I’d rather drown. It’s not as excruciatingly painful as hearing about Chad Pennington.
