   I’ve watched “the play” about a hundred times and I never get sick of it. Say what you will about how they played the rest of the game, if you can watch that play without smiling, you’re not a Jet fan.

   It was the BEST play I have ever witnessed live. I was planning my booing when the madness ensued. The crowd went from restless to chaos.

   Sure, the Defense s%cked, the special teams s%cked, their fourth quater offense s%cked and on and on….the only thing that matters is that they WON!! It feels good to be on the right side of a bounce for once.

   Maybe, JUST MAYBE, this will light a fire. One can only hope…

   If I’m reading these playoff scenarios correctly, if the Pats lose and the Dolphins win their 1 PM games on Sunday, then the result of the Jets-Seattle game would be meaningless, at least in terms of the race for the AFC East title. Even if the Jets enter Dec 28th a game behind Miami, they would still clinch the division with a win. If both NE and MIA lose, then the Jets would have essentially two chances to win one.

   Alan, even better would be if NE wins, KC beats Mia and Ravens beat Cowboys. Here’s why:

   Ravens beating Cowboys makes the week 17 Fins game Sunday Night for sure. Then, week 17 at 1pm, NE beats Buffalo at 1pm and guess what that does? Knocks Miami out of playoff contention (they’d be 2 games behind NE). So, before Miami takes the field Sunday Night (a cold, late December field I might add), they will be out of it. And spoiling the Jets won’t even be so sweet for them, as Miami winning puts the Pats in. Not exactly something Miami wants either. I’m sure they’ll try, but not nearly as hard as if THEY could win the division. By halftime they’ll be thinking about their flight home.

   Also, the Ravens winning week 16 and 17 means that NE goes home with 11 wins. Ouch.

   When you look at the matchups, it’s not a whole lot to ask for. Herm, do you have one in you?

   You’re way overthinking. Chad and the Dolphins will want that game regardless. We need NE, BAL and MIA to all lose. Also, I’m pretty positive there can’t be an NFC game on SNF, so the Dolphins/Jets game is just about a lock to be the SNF game if either team wins this Sunday.

    Joe B, thank you for calling me an intellect, and I’m sorry you did not understand my permutations. But don’t confuse that with overthinking when you counter by underthinking. Don’t you want Miami to be out of it? You think they will play just as hard if they are? Come on. And tell me then, why do you want Miami to lose next week if the Pats lose too? Explain how that helps the Jets at all? It doesn’t. Think about it. Miami losing only helps if the Pats win. You have no explanation for what you said we “need”. Also, the NFC can be on SNF, there is no reason they can’t. You must be Beningo with comments like that. Right?

    Al Michaels is great, but I am actually getting tired of him. I am feeling I’d like the game to happen earlier in the day, but not sure why. But the real point is maybe just a complete turnover across the board of television personalities, just to shake that part of the experience up.
