Jets Move Two Practice Squadders

by Bassett on December 16th, 2008 at 10:56 pm

The Jets made two roster moves Sunday, releasing Center Kyle DeVan from the practice squad with a non-football injury and moving DE Ropati Pitoitua from the practice squad to the injured reserve. The 6’7″ Pitoitua is a project for the Jets, but one worth taking a chance on, so even though Pitoitua might need more time to develop, the fact that they’ve shelved him while the team prepares for a playoff run is a good thing.

Although the moves aren’t particularly notable, the moves free up two spaces on the practice squad, so look to see if the Jets sign some practice players.

Cimini notes that the Jets brought in some rookie free agents G Ryan Keenan, DE Jordan Reffett and NT Brian Schaefering, but no word on any signing contracts.

They’ll probably put James Ihedigbo back on the practice sqaud for his two mess ups, two weeks in a row! Just my guess.
