I disagree with Pelzman.
Jenkins seals the middle but a lot of the big gainers have been around the edge. Favre’s play is essential but it is hard to complete passes to WR without separation. And it is easier to play with a shorter field.
I think upgraded play from our LB, especially BLT and his subs are more important. BLT and Bowens and Gholston have not sealed the edge giving up long runs and not helping create a pass rush in the last several games. Devito has not been too useful lately either.
I also think it is more important that Clowney gets some PT and performs. Coles and Cotch have proved to my satisfaction that when they are in the game, DBs can shorten their coverage zones because the deep ball is not a viable option. Neither has had decent separation all year on deep balls.
I also think Elam’s play is more critical than Jenkins and Favre. When he whiffs on tackles or blows coverages we give up big plays. When he makes big plays, like the strip sack that should never have happened, we have chances to win.
Finally, our specials have failed us as Eric and the Cane have used subs who have repeatedly failed to perform (Ihedigbo is a prime culprit but Spencer has not done well and, except for Wallace, no one is distinguishing himself). In the next two games, we need to get some points and field position from the Cane and crew.

Harlan Lachman, DeVito has too been useful. Dont you remember the QB knockdown on Losman? His skills have come a long way and I believe with all my green&white spirit that #70 will one day be the top pass rusher of the Jets.
Plus, he can bump a ****load of iron.
