The team gave out their individual player awards this week and here’s who won what.

Dennis Byrd (Most Inspirational) — Thomas Jones
Kyle Clifton (Good Guy) — Abram Elam
Marty Lyons (Charity) — Tony Richardson
Ed Block (Courage) — Jerricho Cotchery
Curtis Martin (MVP) — Thomas Jones

The reporters also announced their Good Guy Award which went to Damien Woody, apparently nosing out Kerry Rhodes.

I’m sure he’s turned his life around, but to see Abram Elam win the “Good Guy” award is almost creepy in light of his history.

Awww, no Brett Favre love anymore? What a shame.

  3. avatar greg says:

Yeah, maybe they gave Elam the award on a relative level.

  4. avatar greg says:

I meant that as in relative to the way he was in college.

Thomas Jones has a lot of yards, and some tough ones, but Leon has gamed changed the season, and should be a league candidate for MVP. Someone on this site might be able to list all his winning plays, but they seem to happen every week.

Who was Ed Block? What did he do?

I agree with the other Matt. Thomas Jones had a great year, and I really warmed up to him in the second half of the season, but week in and week out Leon is the best player on the team. I really feel like the Jets’ record would be drastically different without him. I’m just glad he made the pro bowl over the s&*^ talker Leodis McKelvin.

I’m glad for these guys. They worked their ***** off for these.

@matthewm Leon Washington does not deserve MVP consideration. You aren’t named MVP for making a handful of impressive plays. MVP of the Jets, maybe, but of the league, no way.
