don't make excuses make plays, no disrespect but look in the mirror jinx, YOU ARE THE (bleeping) BEST DT in the league, you should be upset that Hampton and Wilfork get the praise you deserve...i know you won't disappoint because i've seen you take a defense to the Super Bowl

Stay up Big Man!

I'd have to disagree. I think the Jets have more talent than any team in football

I'm almost always optimistic about the Jets, but this doesn't sound good. The fact that jenkins has seemed to dissappear in the last few games, and hes admitting to feeling sore and wearing down, is a terrible sign. Without Jenkins presence in the middle we go right back to being a sub-par defense, which kills any hope of making a playoff run. Lets just hope hes ok and he shows up this week and next. Or else we're in trouble.

To all who are pessimists, the season begins NOW -- Six more big games over seven weeks; time for this team to get started on another roll all the way to the big 'ol SBowl!

Yeah, Denver was abysmal (plus sucked being in the stands in the cold rain), SF no better, and it sure looked ugly with 2:08 to go last week, but that was yesterday, and this Sunday and going forward is what its all about! Let's see the Big Jinx we saw on our mid-season roll and we can run the table!

Jenkins peaked in Tennesse--

So did the Jets. As Jenkins goes, so does this team.

Big Jinx gets criticism from fans who don't even realize that when he's out is when big plays happen against the Jets up the middle, like when Fred Jackson took half the defense on a sleigh ride on the 11 yard TD run. He's still a force when he's in there and he's essential for the Jets these last 2 weeks.

this is how you build a team to win,
look at dallas, they have more talent than any team in the league, but cant do anything

players like harris, jenkin, revis, brick, mangold and faneca are players that win supwebowls
t.o well i hope he doesnt mind selling used cars when he is older

theReakRk, i echo that, thats a very good point. i feel kinda bad for the guy in a way. he's gettin big bucks but he's earned every penny, he has worked real hard in the off season. without a doubt he's the mvp of the team, and without him we'd be another laughing stock in the nfl. i just hate that people are so quick to say that he's having "off games" when he's not beating double teams on a regular basis...for god sake the man is human...no one in the league faces as much double teams as jenkins does...i repeat NO ONE! no one the steelers, ravens, cowboys, or giants...period. the other front 6 have to step their game up..stop coming and disspearing...ellis is sometimish.....kenyon coleman?..i forgot he played for us..probably hasnt tallied a single sack the last two years. if anybody else on this team was worthy of being prepared for in a gameplan by the oppsing team, we would be beastly. stop hinging the success of the teams pass rush or run defense on one guy!...as far as im concerned the man has done his job every single game this season..which is penetrate the o line and draw attention...too many times i the gaurd and tackle cage jenkins off a run route and no one else is EVER able to get penetration and pick up the slack....then they say kris jenkins was "ineffective" and thats why the jets were unable to stop the run?....gimmie a break. im not dogging out the rest of the front seven, i think these guys are well seasoned and very capable(..well except for kenyon)...but this is also a wake up call to the defensive scheming...why the hell am i seeing barton and pace in the secondary more than in the box, or penetrating the line? The jinx needs help, he can't do it by himself! take notes watch a couple steelers, cowboys and ravens games....sutton needs a right hook to his jaw or show the man the door...one or the other, but something has to give.

The problem here is, the Jets defense seems to be a house of cards. Jenkins being the most important member of the defense to the point where, if he plays badly or is hurt the entire unit seems to fail badly. You can't have a defense where one guy is responsible for how good or bad a defense will be. There has to be more balance. Especially when that one guy is well over 300 lbs and injury prone and approaching 30.
