Goodnight, Sweet Princesses

The 2008 Brett Favre World Tour came crashing to a halt in Seattle tonight.

But even though Favre’s still throwing crossfield backfooted interceptions, and even though Schottenheimer refuses to ride his true horse, and even though Coles seemingly dropped more passes than he caught, and even though the Jets punted instead of kicking a crucial field goal, and went for it instead of punted, and even though the defense couldn’t get off the field, there’s still a false hope that the Jets could conceivably sneak into the playoffs …

But seriously, is there any reason to watch this team an extra week after the way that they’ve played since they thought they won the Super Bowl by beating Tennessee?

I thought they were a 9 win team going into this season, and it brings me no joy to be proven right.

Thanks Brett. You were worth every Penny.

  2. avatar all things ny says:

No playoffs.. Thanks for the year Brett.. but dont come back.. same to you Mr Mangini/Schott/Sutton

  3. avatar Brian says:

    That. Was. Absolutely. Terrible.

  4. avatar Hangar says:

Fire this coaching staff and Brett with them… This guy could care less about the JETS.

  5. avatar Hangar says:

    This team has no heart!!!!

  6. avatar seanmac31 says:

Well, it might have been nice to watch Joe Flacco shred us and think about how nice it would have been had we drafted him instead of Vernon Gholston.

Instead, we’ll have to ponder just how much money the team is going to throw at Matt Cassell, which brings me no joy whatsoever.

  7. avatar GREENBLOOD says:

    Out with the Coach !

  8. avatar Drew says:

    Another depressing X-mas.

  9. avatar J2B says:

How long is going to take them to refund my playoff $$. Same old Jets. this organization is obviously cursed. This team is killed by the Curse of Namath, since he sold his soul to win SB3.

  10. avatar Chrebookie says:

    Worst game ever…
How can everyone see the wretched play calling except the coaches. If are Sutton and ****ty arent fired by next Sunday night. Then we really see why we brought the Old Man in…. PSL’s.
    F Mangini also

  11. avatar Meez64 says:

Fire Mangini, fire the whole coaching staff and thanks for coming out brett but your services will no longer be needed!

    PATHETIC!!!!!!!!

  12. avatar TOON2388 says:

OL had worst game of year. D was terrible. Special Teams is now below average. Favre was awful. Coles drops were killers. Coaching decisions were inconsistent. If you do not go for TD on 1st drive, why do you go for it on 4th & 4 on last drive. Let alone not kick FG. I just thank someone that I was not in the ballpark

  13. avatar TC says:

Geeeeeeez,What a wasted year!!!! Who in there right mind would even want to play for these coach’s??

  14. avatar DireJets Fan says:

Seven pro bowl players…the best OL line in the NFL….Mangini, Crennel, Weiss….seems like all the former Pats coaches will be all be fired….Please hire Cowher…get rid of Favre….and just get a QB that will play smart.

  15. avatar Ridiculous says:

How does this team go from scoring 34 against New England and Tennessee, to scoring 34 total in their last three losses?

Sad, I almost wish the “Miracle at the Meadowlands 2″ never happened now…

  16. avatar Matt in Virginia says:

This is it. Mangini, Schotty and Sutton should be fired. There are no excuses left.

  17. avatar JOSEPH says:

MANGINI MUST GO. WE WERE IN A DOMINANT POSITION 4 WEEKS AGO WITH 4 GAMES IN WHICH WE WERE FAVORED IN EACH. WE LOST 3 AND SHOULD HAVE LOST ALL 4.

WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DONT REALIZE IS THAT SEATTLE’S OFFENSIVE LINE NEVER PLAYED TOGETHER BEFORE AND WAS A COMPLETE PATCHWORK EXPERIMENT. YET, HEY DOMINATED MANGINA AND HIS MORONIC GAME PLAN.

    GOOSBYE SEASON AND GOODBYE MANGINA!

  18. avatar Davis says:

The past 3 weeks … what a tremendous disappointment. Who’s going to be the new QB?

  19. avatar all things ny says:

What makes you think Cowher would even want to come here?

This game was a joke, Seatle had a joke of a line and we barely blitz the QB. Are they coaches looking to win or coaches looking to avoid losing. If there is no significant changes made in either HC/OC/DC, then I will no longer watch the Jets.

The Jets have been ruining every winter of my 23 year old life starting in ’93.

  20. avatar ChadP says:

See you next week old friends. I can’t wait to use you guys as my hump toy. Do you miss me yet?

    Chad P.

  21. avatar Rob says:

This is just sad fire the COACHING staff they lose the games and I love Brett but he loses the games to they can’t win a game when they need to this was depressing

  22. avatar Matt in Virginia says:

Who’s going to be the new coach? It shouldn’t be a given that Cowher would want to come here.

  23. avatar HANGAR says:

    40 years!!! All must go!!!

  24. avatar jetsetter says:

That fact remains, they played with no heart. The Herm Edwards teams played with passion and til the final whistle. Serves us right for hiring a Patriot. This team never developed an identity, which is a straight reflection of the coaching staff. The jets need a defense coordinator from the Lebeau system. Blitz, Blitz until they bleed. You will never win being as passive as the Jets have been.

  25. avatar Same Old Jets says:

Just like 1993, 97, 2000…this team shows promise in November and falls flat in December…

  26. avatar all things ny says:

Honestly, Its amazing to see how bad the play calling can get. Lets just pretend to blitz everytime and put everyone out in zone. That is a great defensive game plan. Oh and how about we run the same play in a row just to the other side I BET IT WILL WORK! Not ONCE BUT TWO THREE TIMES!

Mangini can have a place on this team as a Defensive Coordinator, but HC and OC must now be available positions in this organization. If Mangini is not fired or demoted this year, then I believe he will never be unless Tannenbaum is fired by Johnson. Coaching staff is WEAK! NO PLAYOFFS!! and you want PSL money? HA HA

  27. avatar Dan says:

The Brett Ratliff era is upon us

  28. avatar Rick says:

Disgusting…. We were out-coached and Mangini needs to go. Why do we continue to throw the ball when the results end up the same, incomplete or interception. Thomas Jones had a decent game, he should have been used more to set up the pass. A defensive question: How do you rush three linemen and there wide receivers are still side open, with 8 men in coverage?

  29. avatar rob says:

Congratulations to the Jets for infecting a HOF WB with their culture of losing.

Woody, sell the team to someone who cares!

  30. avatar Otter says:

Just leave the coaching staff in Seattle. Bye bye Mangini.

  31. avatar ChadP says:

I just love my tuna down here in South Beach. He how is the cheese up there?

    Chad P.

  32. avatar subwayfare says:

I appreciated the aggressiveness of the move to get Favre, knew it was a gamble, but I’ll now happily go back to grooming a young QB.

Of course, as poorly as Favre has played the last few games, the defense has played worse, and the coaching staff performed even worse than that. These guys seem to be strictly classroom coaches. This team has had no fire, urgency or inspiration when they needed it most. And that’s not even taking into consideration the horrific call on the 4th and 4 that took away any slim chance they had.

I just wish I could get more excited about what will now be a raucous “fire the coaching staff,” crowd. I just think that if that happens, we’re likely back at zero. Another three or four years for the new staff to put together and groom a team to his style.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

  33. avatar kd bart says:

I was never for firing Mangini until now and only if you can get Cowher since I don’t who else is out there who is a proven winner.. Sutton and Schotty must go for sure. Sutton hasn’t made a defensive adjustment in 3 seqasons and Sutton tries to often to be too cute by half in his playcalling. How many 30 yard downfield passes on 3rd and 2 have we seen this season? has one worked?

  34. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Hope Brett is gone and I will personally drive Ty Law back to his couch. Just don’t know how I feel about the rest. Sucks to be a Jets fan today.

  35. avatar Matt in Virginia says:

I wouldn’t blame Woody for not caring. The guy cheers the team on in the tunnel.

  36. avatar rob says:

sorry that should be “QB” not “WB”

  37. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Was I alone in wanting to see Clemens or Ratliff?

  38. avatar all things ny says:

    Pathetic. Incompetent. Ignorant.

All three for Mangina, Schottenretard, Suttmynuts

  39. avatar typical says:

Where do you even start? The team looked lifeless, our receivers cannot get any seperation(and when they do, they drop the ball), our defensive scheme is uncreative(Is kris jenkins alive or what? I think he died on the plane back from tennessee), and our coach is a lifeless moron who who would be better off managing a Dennys than coaching a professional football team. Okay im done.

  40. avatar dcjetsfan says:

Not only do we have to part w/ a 3rd round pick for Favre……..we now have a void at QB. Ratliff, Clemens, FA or Draft? It will be an interesting off season which I really hope Sutton, Schotty and Mangini will not be part of. I am not sure why Mangini 2007 and 2008 has been so different from Mangini 2006. Clearly when you’ve lost your team, it is time to go.

  41. avatar JonnyK says:

If you were an athlete would you want to play for a coach with no emotion, terrible game planning and absolutely no personality?? I sure as hell wouldnt. Tannenbaum is a terrible GM in my opinion and the JETS will keep Mangini!! I am glad Chad is having a great yr. HE DESERVES IT! The jets deserve to be embarassed. Completely outcoached in EVERY game this year with a wealth of talent. WHAT A JOKE! Bill Cowher will NEVER come to the jets…NEVER. He will end up in Cleveland before he comes to NY. Favre, thanks for nothing and go home and blog with your wife and cry about how you hate NY and the pressure, It;s time to take up golf!

    MANGINI MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  42. avatar matt says:

a telling play for the jets.. stop a run for loss not one pumped up defensive player…. taking after there leader……mangini + sutton are coaching themselves out of the nfl….. the worst coaching job i have ever seen…… why is coles starting….favre played better then his #s this year the wuz coach cost this team

  43. avatar Brian says:

This team f-ing sucks. They better fire the entire staff. I’m rooting for fins next week. If you can’t beet SEA, OAK, SF, DEN you don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Let Miami win to keep out NE. Chad can’t win the big game anyway. Mangini should go back to being a ball boy. Favre, retire quick so we can pick up the next over-the-hill QB; Kurt Warner should be available.

  44. avatar true green says:

this team sucks ! if a team can’t grind it out and win two games to get into the playoffs they shouldn’t be there. we sould quit right now.

  45. avatar chad pennington says:

    you dumped me?………….for him????? hahahahahahahahaha!

  46. avatar Tony G says:

I have been a Jets fan for 40 years. The current team is continually outcoached and outplayed. The five straight wins were great but we caught most teams flat and struggled to stay ahead. Tenn, was the only strong performance.

The owners are not committed to winning. If they were we would have a first class coach. This isn’t the fault of some curse, it’s the fault of the fans. We keep filling the stadium every Sunday routing for a team that;s owners only want to make a buck. Stay home and watch the game on TV. Send a message to the owner we are not happy and you can’t have my money any longer. If you keep going to the games you’re part of the problem, they only want to fill seats when we want a winner! They’re not committed to you.

The team has a lot of talent but the inability of coaching staff takes that away. Special teams are strong but they don’t play every play.

In short Mangini, Schott, Coles, Farve, need to take a hike down the Jersey Turnpike. If it wasn’t for the D our season would have neded last week.

  47. avatar Chris says:

I sit in Section 139. And will be happy to ‘donate’ my tickets to any Dolphins fan in the tri state area.

I hate the Dolphins but at least someone will be able to go and watch a football team that actually cares! And a coaching staff that is actually qualified!

    And just as an FYI.

Kerry Rhodes is as soft as the Charmin I put on my roll today!

  48. avatar TomBrady says:

    We’re back……

    Tommy B.

  49. avatar subwayfare says:

Seriously, Rhodes getting abused on that blitz by a 5’10″ running back should make him consider retiring.

  50. avatar kd bart says:

Listening to the post game conference on NFL Network. Thw man coaches scared. More worried about losing then trying to win.

  51. avatar screwup79 says:

we had great pick up in the off season, but brett favre was a little to extreme, just look at his age…we did not need a quaterback for 1 or 2 yrs…..we need to build chemistry with this team, now we gotta start all over with a new qb because we know he is gonna retire……………bring in kc and have ratliff competing……………or pic up a young qb in the draft…..we gotta build chemistry and leadership…..look at everybody in the playoffs now, all have leadership and grew with their qbs……now we startin again

  52. avatar ridinmywave says:

as terrible as the defense MAY have seemed to you guys…..we did only give up 13 points…..while we had 0 offensive touchdowns….re-evaluate why we lost people…….favre…nice try…but cp looks like he’s having the last laugh in this one…last couple of laughs to be exact.

  53. avatar Harlan Lachman says:

Kewpie to Joe B. How anyone could have the presence of mind to think of an ironic, funny post at a time like this is beyond me. Kudos Joe B.

How many Jet fans are going to root next week, as I plan to, for Penny to come in and shred his former team? A blow out would be best for cleaning house and fair payback for the unfair humiliation he absorbed. This season was not worth our #2 pick and backing in to the playoffs is a heck of a way to lose a #2 pick.

I doubt the moronic news media will go after Eric and Shott as they should but if Penny nails the coffin shot, even they may decide to not pull all the punches.

The problem is our owner lacks the Woody required to demand that Tannenbaum fire Eric and Shott tomorrow, allow Kellen a chance to play and Ratliff to come in when Kellen fails once again.

Favre had his chances and he muffed them and does not deserve to play his last game. This should be it.

    harlan

  54. avatar kd bart says:

You don’t go in there thinking it’s going to be a tight game. You go in thinking you are going to blow them out. That attitude is reflected throughout the game.

  55. avatar matt says:

manginido the jets fans a favor if ne wins next week coach the passive way u are and let pennington pick you apart and get miasmi in playoffs

  56. avatar ChadP says:

C’mon guys!! DON’T WORRY! A part of you will still be in the playoffs. I will be rooting for you next year.

    Chad P.

  57. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

    Off with their heads!
I hope they sold their PSLs, because if the point of the the Favre / Chad move was to get to the playoffs it was obviously a terrible idea. I can’t stress the word “obvious” enough.
I was livid about about letting Chad go, and for good reason. If you look at the numbers, it’s obvious that Chad is the better QB, Brett is the more popular QB. I’ve posted these stats in the past so I won’t do it again, but I think this move by itself is the reason we’re not in the playoffs. I don’t think it’s up for debate at this point, anyone who argues is only showing their lack of understanding.
In my opinion the front office and head coach need to be held responsible for this personel move and subsequently should loose their jobs.
If that does happen I’ll predict that Manginni doesn’t find another head coaching job.
The way I see it is that this Jets team wins 11 games on talent alone. With good coaching that number increases slightly, with bad coaching it decreases a bit.
    LETS GO BUFFALO!

  58. avatar Dean says:

Are you for real @Joe B? How do you defend Favre right now? I knew a lot of Jets fans took the Favre Kool Aid but after today, I thought at least some of you would have become clear headed and realized Favre wasn’t worth the investment. Solid player but fell way short of what was expected of him this year.

  59. avatar kd bart says:

Hate to tell you but they wouldn’t make the playoffs with Chad either. This is all about coaching philosphy, preparation and adjustments.

  60. avatar ED says:

Its been a pleasure reading everyones thoughts this season. I won’t be wasting another second on the Jets until draft weekend ’09. I think its time to start thinking about drafting a QB for the future, and finding another vet to teach/play stop gap for the 2009 season. Hope all you guys enjoy the pro bowl. See everyone in the spring.

  61. avatar Tony G says:

You’re right KD, poor coaching ersaes raw and seasoned talent.

    Should Farve start next week?

I vote NO. Let’s see Ratliff.

  62. avatar Dont-forget-where-you-came-from-cheese-mac says:

    Thomas Jones-17 rushes.
    Brett Favre- 31 pass attempts.

    There’s your game.

  63. avatar RJ says:

I had so much hope for this season after all of the FA signings and the Brett Favre trade and drafting Gholston. I would now gladly kick Favre, Mangina, Schott, Sutton, and that bum Coles the hell off the team.

  64. avatar Geck says:

The worst part is we will prolly win next week and put the Patriots in the playoffs.

  65. avatar kd bart says:

Put it this way. Bill Parcells took a team with the same QB that was 1-15 in ’96 and made them 9-7 in ’97. It was all about coaching philosophy, preparation and adjustment. Hell, he got the Jets to 8-8 with Ray Lucas as QB.

  66. avatar Tony G says:

Other teams hire inspiring coaches like Mike Singletary. Do you think Manginni inspires anyone on the sideline? He ticks me off standing there like he’s someone to be revered as a mentor. He’s a sad imitation of a NFL coach and should be immediatelty terminated.

  67. avatar TruJetFan says:

Welcome to a new All Time Low. I am sick to my stomach and beside myself. Good luck to Chad,

  68. avatar Joe B. says:

TJ is the ONLY guy on the offense who deserves to cash his paycheck. Maybe T-Rich too. Favre, terrible. Leon, no factor. Cotch, disappeared, Coles, absent in the clutch. Keller, non-existent. The O-Line, an embarrassment.

  69. avatar ridinmywave says:

one thing i hate is out ignorance people see what they want to see, and have such a high school crush on #4 for some odd reason, that you want to point the fingers all throughout the franchise except at your beloved qb. to the point where people are sayin “we infected their qb with the culture of loosing???” ….ok lassie. everybody wants to talk about drops, but no one wants to mention underthrown balls all game!…wait better yet…the last few games! i dont hate the guy, i just put MY TEAM before a one year pre-madonna! chad is probably foaming out the mouth right now, waiting to drive the final nail into this teams’ coffin!

  70. avatar RJ says:

    Brett Ratliff for QB ’09

  71. avatar klecko71 says:

how many touches for leon on offense???

somehow lucas and schein agreed with going for FG on opening drive.

its sad….we are one of the most loyal fans in all of sports, and deserve better then this.

oh and didnt the PSL sales not go as well as planned? =) f-em all…..

  72. avatar Mangini says:

    I suck.

  73. avatar stevek says:

    Look at the bright side….
At least the jets saved their 2nd round pick and only give up a 3rd for Farve. And we get a 3rd back with the Vilma trade.

  74. avatar Tony G says:

Leon and Cotch desrve to be paid. It’s not their fault they were inadequately used. Favre needs to stand up like a man and take blame for the offensives poor performance. They play calling is poor but if executed the chance of success may increase. They cannot even execute.

  75. avatar ridinmywave says:

and another thing, i never really was on the “fire mangini” bandwagon but after that punt…..and embarrasing his kicker, not giving him a chance to give us some pints after feely has proven himself time in and time out…….it really is true he coaches SCARED!..this is a mans league….”YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!”….DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR TO ANYBODY??

  76. avatar Will says:

Soprano should have whacked Mangini when he had a chance.

  77. avatar Mangini says:

    All good ideas. Thanks.

  78. avatar JOE says:

    P A T H E T I C !

    Keller…2 receptions?

where did the chemistry with BR go?

Are we REALLY surprised with this team?

  79. avatar Harvlis says:

The only way we win in Miami is if we fire the entire coaching staff before the game. If they couldn’t get this team pumped to beat Seattle, with a makeshift O-line, they shouldn’t be coaching. As usual, on the Offensive side of the ball, Schottenheimer didn’t have a clue. After his scripted first drive was over, so was he. When you see Brett looking bad, it isn’t always Brett. If he could speak up, he would tell you how sad the play-calling is. On the Defensive side of the ball, Sutton does not know what pressure can achieve. For him to rush three or four, all the time, shows he needs to go. How sad did this team play. If Woody Johnson does not replace this whole staff, he needs to go as well.

  80. avatar DireJets Fan says:

I agree that Manging shows no emotion….he just keeps chewing his gum looking like Kermit the Frog in his green jacket. Does he even talk when he’s on the sidelines….what is he seeing….how could that team not come out after halftime and kick butt….how does a 9-5 team have no heart at the end of season….did Favre just get tired or lazy, and stop reading the playbook….i’m glad that we got all these guys for a 3-4 defense that doesn’t work.

  81. avatar Jim says:

I started with Walt Michaels….. now this era is over…time to rebuild AGAIN!!!!!!!

  82. avatar leon's legs says:

flex game next week? if so NFL is probably going to pray NE or Bal loses

  83. avatar JOE says:

IT WILL BE HARD NOT TO ROOT FOR CHAD NEXT WEEK

  84. avatar Tony G says:

Will. next week the Dolphins will emabrass the Jets. I had hoped all year the last meeting between these two teams would mean nothing with us going to the playoffs. Chad will destroy the Jets. You can’t win in the NFL with a three man rush. We make second string QB’s look like Joe Montana.

Don’t feel too bad about today. Even with a win and going to the playoffs we were destined to be a one game team. The coaching staff doesn’t have the male fortitude to win. The FG kicker nails one from 45 yards out , it would have been good from 60 +/- yards. We punt becuae of a 5 yard penalty. Not a winning philosophy in the NFL. Maybe over in Austrailia not here.

  85. avatar GreenGoo says:

I blame this website for the Jets woes.

  86. avatar L.T. says:

    dayum, thats messed up!!

  87. avatar DunellenJet Fan says:

Needed a new coaching staff since last year.
Never asked for Favre and thought it was a BAD MOVE.
    Get PLAY MAKERS!
    Get some NFL caliber WRs
    Draft Defense, defense, defense!
Today’s NFL is aggressive and offensive play calling, NOT conservative play it safe thinking!
Today’s NFL players are quick and agile, not one demensional statues!
Today’s NFL QBs manage games, move well in the pocket, and make the critical passes, NOT under throw open WRs and stand immoble and throw off their back foot across the field with no zip!

Jets need heart and guts A LOT MORE THAN character! They need CHARACTERS!

  88. avatar ridinmywave says:

    @ kd bart….

we wouldnt amke the p[layoffs with vchad pennington at the helm??? are you f’ing serious?? chad never got the chance to play with as talented a group favre was able to play with! and with all the mediocre squads weve had, chad pennington has brought to the playoffs a few times, not to include the the 1-15 squad he played for this year who traded away their best player in the offseason……..wake up kid

  89. avatar david parnell says:

The Jets will be at home for the playoffs this year, they’ll just be watching on the TV like the rest of us! But, I guess next week I’ll have to be a Jets fan.

  90. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Wait a second, I can’t let that comment go. Yes! we would be in the playoffs if we had this same team led by Chad….Period.
Yes Man-dumbass is terrible, and should be fired.
But there is no way to overlook the fact that Chad has taken the 1-15 Phins to where they are now.
Chad prior to this year took us to the playoffs every year he played 50% of the games with the exception of last year when he played the entire season on torn ligaments in his planting ankle.
The reason that some of us have a tough time letting this go is that Chad was a first class competitor, and many….many Jets fan s**t on him after one bad year.
That’s right, it wasn’t just the coaching, it was us fans as well that deserve this!

  91. avatar Tony G says:

Parcell builds winners wherever he goes. Period.

  92. avatar Fonz says:

    Joe B:

How can you say Farve was worth “every penny” and in the next breath say “he was terrible” ? I don’t understand.

  93. avatar rob says:

the way things are going, the lions will make it to the super bowl before the jets do

new york jets – 50 years of (mostly) crappy football

  94. avatar James in TN says:

chad made us 1 dimensional, the coaches still coached as if he was still here. the staff sucks .

  95. avatar James in TN says:

favre sucks also as does our wr’s

  96. avatar Herm says:

You play to win the game

  97. avatar Tony G says:

Chad didn’t have a line in front of him. He had to run for his life almost every play. HE’s one of the most accurate passers in the game. He’s a true example of a team player. When he performed poorly he stood up and said so, Farve doesn’t. Manginni doesn’t. Cowards!

  98. avatar Glenn Foley says:

    I’m available next year

  99. avatar subwayfare says:

Favre’s play certainly dropped off the table in the last few weeks, and I’ll be happy to move on to Clemens, Ratliff, et. al., but anyone who watched the Jets this year and thinks Chad would have run off the field holding the Lombardi trophy in a Jets jersey in February is delusional.

He had a horrible season under this staff last year. He’s playing well in a very solid system in Miami and will likely get them a round into the playoffs. Good for him. The Jets problems run much deeper.

  100. avatar Richard Todd says:

This team makes my era look good.

  101. avatar Matt says:

That game was over in the first 5 minutes when mangini kicked FG on 4th and 1 from the 3.
We go 78 yards in 4 minutes and have the defense on its heels and you kick a FG in a game the jets MUST have…..disgusting. the coaching was chicken ****.
You don’t go on 4th and 1 from the SEA 3, but you go on 4th and 4 from our 20? What the hell is wrong with this people….FIRE THE STAFF. Bring in Cowher.

  102. avatar kd bart says:

And for the 3 previous weeks Miami won despite not much of an offense. Miami’s offense against SF, Seattle and St. Louis was not much better than what the Jets produced in those 3 weeks (only 46 points). They won because of defense. They didn’t give up a TD for 3 games. Guess what? If the Jets had done that during those same 3 weeks, they’d have 11 wins and would’ve already won the East. Coming into today, the Fins were bottom 1/4 in scoring. With the way the Jets defense played most of this season, Chad would’ve never put up enough points.

  103. avatar Tony G says:

Sub, that’s what the Jets coaching staff does they nuetralize good talent. They make poorer teams look good.

  104. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Our WR’s do not suck, they’re actually pretty good.
Chad didn’t make us 1 dimensional….we actually were 1 dimensional.

    Our coaching however does suck.

“One loss at a time” is the manginni motto.

Jets Win, NE in the Playoffs

  106. avatar Nick says:

25 years down the drain… I’m going to be raising my son a Giant fan. I just tosses all my Jet stuff in the garbage. Seriously, there is no ducking reason to follow this pathatic team. I have hit my limit.

What do you do if your in a bad marriage? If your smart you get the hell out. Only losers continue to suffer the same humiliations over and over. I won’t put my boy thru it.

So fare well boys, I know that somewhere Nikolas is smiling drunkinly.

    Singning off permentally,

  107. avatar Fonz says:

    Matt Laffin:

It takes courage to admit to the ultimate disgrace of what trully injured the jets psyche this year. Not the losses but the hypocrisy of behid selling Farve to the fans. I feel trully painfjull that we waisted such promise, work, sweat, $$$$, and talent on someone ho was trully not worth it. Worst part….. we lost at least two years because of this hypocrIsy

  108. avatar Next Week says:

Maybe they’ll bring in a kicker or puter for tryouts?

  109. avatar Jay from NYC says:

where to begin? games like this one and seasons like this one are why I cannot find a NY Jets bar in New York Fu(king City! I don’t even feel like prying for a win against MIA and a NE loss so we can get into the playoffs. I said at the beginning of the season to anyone that would listen that the Favre move would be a risk/reward disaster unless somehow we went to the AFC championship. I’ll be rooting for Chad next week, not buying a PSL.

  110. avatar Fred says:

If jets win Baltimore loses Im pretty sure we’re in.

  111. avatar MasterCard says:

  112. avatar Mangina says:

    flex game next week?

  113. avatar Tony G says:

I have 40 years invested. Losing is a way of life. I have zero expectations from the Jets so big losses don’t affect me to bad. We didn’t deserve to win last week and surely did not toady if somehow we miracouly pulled it out. Coaching is the key. The Jets play at the level of their competition. Good teams they’re up for the challenge, poor teams they expect them to lie down for them. Poor coaching, poor prep, poor play calling and execution. Just another Sunday in my 40 years of Jets football.

  114. avatar klecko71 says:

ummmm….we would NOT be better with chad….b/c of one simple fact:

    OUR COACHES SUCK.

chad has a great offensive coordinator in dan henning….hello?? vinny T had his sick year with henning as the play caller.

SO yes its an embarassment that chad is doing well and could be laughing in our place next week….but to blindly say we would be better then 9-6 at this point with chad???? stop letting your anger cloud your judgement.

parcells running the show down there, has great coaches….our coaches B-L-O-W.

  115. avatar rob says:

jets must win – balt or ne lose to get in

    ravens are playing 5-10 jacksonville

    pats vs bills in buffalo

    enjoy your offseason kids!

  116. avatar klecko71 says:

just read ur last post KD…..right on.

i love chad….but we have to stop thinking that if he was our QB this year we would be better then 9-6 right now.

coaching means alot in football people!!!! JESUS!!!

and yes fred….we need baltimore or the pats to lose at 1pm before we play at night….assuming its the flex game….to get into the playoffs.

i think nbc should now show chargers broncos!! what a joke…an 8-8 team might win a division and a 10 or 11 win team in the afc east might go home.

  117. avatar Dan says:

i can not wait for brett ratliff to win the starting qb job next year and switch out coles for clowney

  118. avatar Fred says:

rob thers a chcne that one of them might lose. Bufallo just bea tDenver and Their playing in Buffalo.

  119. avatar klecko71 says:

hey rob…as much as we suck and dont deserve to be in the playoffs right now…

baltimore will probably win….but a pats win in buffalo with edwards back…aint no lock. they beat denver in denver today with a division title on the line for the broncos.

    its in buffalo….not a gimme.

    but we still blow =)

  120. avatar ridinmywave says:

quick stat…..you know that pennington is the most accurate qb of ALL TIME!?…….chad the better qb…….favre the more popular…also playing on alot more talented teams than chad throughout his career..alot of you bandwagonist jet fans owe somebody an apology….and hopefully he will take it easy on our beloved team next week, lol.

  121. avatar Tony G says:

Brad Smith, with the right traing and coaching could be a pro bowler for a experienced coaching staff. He’s reminds me of Kordell Steward, but I think he could be better. In the Jets organization, they strip you down of all your natural abilties and ask you to play like an average player.

  122. avatar Fred says:

ok Chad hasnt been able to GET THE JOB DONE HIS WHOLE CAREEER. If he beats the Jets tomrrow ill give him the credit he deserves.

  123. avatar David Feig says:

    bah

I honestly thought that even if the jets did not make the playoffs this year, Mangini would be back for at least one more season.

I really think after all the money they spent on the offseason, and with the win over the titans, to fall this hard this fast…this is bad.

I’ve been a Jets fan for a long time. This loss today is as bad as the Dan Marino Fake Spike loss that pretty much was the end for Pete Carrol.

7 pro bowlers and we can’t beat a 3-11 (now 4-11) team with a backup quarterback playing, Seneca Wallace, that doesn’t exactly strike fear in to most teams…

Not to mention–in a Blizzard–WE are suppose to play well in the cold weather…not the west coast team! sheesh.

I thought for sure the defensive coordinator was toast after the 49ers loss, for sure he’ll get the ax after this season.

Brian Schottemhiemer is likely also toast. I also think Mangini is toast also. Not sure if GM will also go. If mangini had any guts he’d just quit. To have a team this poorly prepared to play against teams with losing records…

    I want CHAD back!

I probably will have to root for him now, since a jets win will just continue the joke of mangini…

Jets need to lure Bill Cowher out of retirement…

Sure we are cursed…Patriots lose best qb in football and the backup turns out to be better than anybody the jets draft, trade for, or sign. For the future decisions on QBs, we need to just ask Scott Pioli what to do.

  124. avatar DireJets Fan says:

We could always bring Ted Cottrell back as DC. Is Joe Walton still out there.. or Bruce Coslet…or Herm Edwards (maybe)…maybe we should hire Norv Turner or Marinelli from the Lions….it’s painful being a Jets fan.

  125. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Yeah, except that Buffalo didn’t beat Denver today.

  126. avatar mole57 says:

My final game as season ticket holder next week, and I have to root for the Jets to either win and send the Pats to the playoffs or lose and send the Fins to playoffs. Good god! Maybe I’ll break out my old Pennington jersey for the game. I am so thoroughly disgusted with this team.

  127. avatar Otter says:

I cannot believe that I root for a team that has no heart. There is no way that the Jets should have lost this game. But then again i have been saying that for past few weeks.

How does this beat Tennessee and New England and lose games to Seattle, San Francisco, Denver, and Oakland (OAKLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Their defense has gotten torn apart by Tyler Thigpen, Shaun Hill, Matt Cassel, Seneca Wallace, JaMarcus Russell. How come our defense doesn’t pressure the quarterback? Please fire Sutton.

The offense has no consistency. What happened to Dustin Keller? Can we please incorporate him into the passing game? Can we throw some screen passes to Leon Washington every once in a while? He’s pretty good. Favre is done. Too many underthrown passes in the past few weeks. I like Favre and I think we are better off with him this year than Pennington, but I hope he retires. Please fire the offensive coordinator.

I’m not sure that Woody will have the guts to fire Mangini. But his performance today was terrible. He continues to coach not to lose. They needed to score a touchdown on that first drive, not settle for a field goal. I’m not sure that he inspires the team. But that’s what happens when you always seem to play it safe.

  128. avatar Dan Marino says:

Hey Chris, I’ll take one of your Jet tickets. Come to the Aqua Orange side(forget the Green-they always disappoint-when will Jet fans learn!!! Remember 8-3 and going to the Superbowl just 4 weeks ago ), I’ll go with you to the game and treat you for beer and food. Contact me at profseeking@hotmail.com. Im serious. I’ll even sign a football for you. LOL

  129. avatar ridinmywave says:

and i think it is very safe to say we would be just as good if not BETTER with chad at qb this year seeing how many game changing ints #4 has thrown this year, which have COST US GAMES!…period some of you fall in and out of love with the playcalling its hilarious, at the end of the day, the coaching staff is terrible but not to mention they are not the ones out there playing and calling audibles and reading defenses….get over it

  130. avatar kd bart says:

    klecko71,

I heard Chad himself say last week that he had to play better if the team wanted to keep winning. The defense could bnot continue to play that well and win it for him. He recognized that the defense was what was carrying the Dolphins the past few weeks and not the offense. 4 TDs in 3 games doesn’t usually garner you 3 victories. Hell, the Jets scored 7 offensive TDs during that stretch and really didn’t look that good.

  131. avatar FreemanMcNeil says:

Words can’t describe how inept of a peformance that was. A couple of thoughts:
    1) Coles killed us on and off the field..he should be gone.
    2) Mangini is non-inspiring
    3) Defensive playcalling is just plain vanilla

It’s sickening to think I will be rooting for this team another year. 25 years of my life wasted. 25

  132. avatar C. Pennington (YFC) says:

    Dear Readers of TheJetsBlog,

It is I, Chad Pennington. Do not doubt that this is me and that I am it. I have come from beyond the grave, and I am so tan from being down here. Tony Sparano and I are game-planning over a couple of margaritas. We beat the Chiefs today. Who did the Jets play? I forget now. Seattle? They lost to Seattle, wow. How did Brett play? Oh, really. That bad, huh.

I am making love to Joey Porter and looking at a picture of Jerricho Cotchery and myself summering in Nepal. I bid you adieu, and regret your loss to the one known as Holmgren.

Fred – no, Jets now have NO chance at the wild card. Baltimore is irrelevant. Only way they can make the playoffis is if they win AND Pats lose.

Pats will never lose a December game to Buffalo … in our lifetimes.

  135. avatar klecko71 says:

    matt….the bills did win today….

  136. avatar Marc W says:

My heart can;t take this anymore! Anyone else feel like physically beating Mangini when CBS kept focusing in on him all bndled up, wearing his ski hat like a moron, and just chewing more and more gum? Looked to me like he thought the Jets were up by 40.

Also, you know it’s time for the coach to go when you already know what he’ll say at his press conference before it even begins. Mangini:”Really happy with some of the things we did in the game, thought we did some good things in all 3 phases of the game… Talked to the team about consistency, and having a consistent approach… We have to make sure we do better in the Red Area… We’ll take the consistent approach during the week, and we’ll be gameplan specific.

Sound familiar? Same thing every damn time!

    START THE FIREMANGINI WEBSITE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Time for the Jets to change things up and bring in an offensive minded coach, no more of this conservative crap and playing not to lose.

Hell, I’ll take Marinelli at this point.

If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.
    Two Clubs

    Head-to-head, if applicable.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
    Strength of victory.

  139. avatar DireJets Fan says:

How about hiring one of the Ryan brothers as Head Coach? At least our D would be a little exciting, and sack the QB. What was so wrong with Gholston? All you needed to do was put him in and let him rush the QB. No, he couldn’t go in because he couldn’t understand the defense. You need to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to play in this offense and defense. That’s the problem. There’s too much overanalyzing instead of just playing football and hitting hard.

  140. avatar Fred says:

Dan in DC next time you try correcting me know what your talking about.

And by the way the Jaguars almost beat the COlts who are probly the hottest team in football right now.

  141. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Actually, CHad has kinda always gotten it done.
Last year he was playing on torn ligaments on his planting let the entire season! I tore a ligament in my ankle, and I can’t tell you how bad it hurts to put pressure on. I also broke my ankle twice, and I would not hesitate to take a break over a torn ligament any day. The point is that last year has to be struck from the record, when looking at what Chad has done in his career. And with that exception he has a 100% playoff percentage. You can’t argue with that, the guy wins period.
Shame on any Jets fan who couldn’t appreciate that, and shame on the coaching and FO for not seeing that, and for even allowing him to play on the injury last year.
a torn ligament is an injury that can not be fully appreciated until you’ve been through it, the pain is much greater than a break.

  142. avatar mole57 says:

Buffalo did us a favor. Maybe they’ll flex the SD-Denver game instead.

  143. avatar ridinmywave says:

fred, what do you mean by get the job done???? do you mean carry mediocre teams to the playoffs…because he has….so i guess that means bring the jets to the superbowl???….now you tell me, since chad has been here, when have we EVER had a good enought team as a whole, good enought to contend for a sb?

  144. avatar Dan in DC says:

Klecko — re: a Jets WC — I was going by a very definitive pronouncement by NFL Network. I suppose they’ve been wrong before.

  145. avatar Harvlis says:

Klecko, You nailed it. It doesn’t matter who would be the QB. When the play-calling is attrocious, the QB runs for his life. When the play-calling is good, the defense is on it’s heels — Receivers get open, running backs have holes, QB’s don’t get hit. It even hurts the defense, when they have to be on the field for most of the game.

Favre was horrible but, Schottenheimer and Mangini, with their horrible play-calling, almost got him killed.

This is a coaching fiasco. A knowledgable owner would realize this. Let’s see what happens.

  146. avatar kd bart says:

So a lot of you thought the Jets were an 11-12 win team back in June/July before any hint of Favre? Parcells has proven everywhere he goes that philosophy, preparation and coaching is why you win in this league. Believe me, a Parcells team would’ve gone for it on the first drive. A Parcells team handed a gift on the onside kick by SF would’ve made them pay for it and would’ve gone for it on 4 and 2 from the 37. Aggressiveness is Parcells’ stock in trade. Team turns it over, go for the hammer immediately.

  147. avatar Dan says:

does anyone even really want to make the playoffs anymore it will just be embarrassing once we get there

  148. avatar subwayfare says:

The Chad decision was bigger than the number of wins this season. Miami will now be in the same position as the Jets were. If Chad wins one or two playoff games, as he often did for the Jets, it will be hard to justify playing a promising young QB like Henne next year, delaying his progress.

Gambling on Favre, a SB winner, who took his team to the NFC Title game seven months earlier, was probably more worth a year of delaying the development of Ratliff or KC. The gamble didn’t pay off. Fair enough. We lose a 3rd rounder. A fairly cheap bet.

Miami will soon face the same dilemma a very good, but not great, QB presents.

  149. avatar klecko71 says:

KD…yeah and today he was good against a bad team.

chad is an accurate QB, usually mistake free.

and he has been the usual steady and dont lose games QB he mostly was for us this year.

he has much better coaches in miami then he had here the last few years. and of course he was banged up big time the last few years here

  150. avatar FreemanMcNeil says:

Read that Baltimore has the tiebreaker over us if their is a three-way tie between NYJ, MIA, and Bal at 10-6. This true? Wouldn’t we have the best conference record?

  151. avatar Fred says:

2002 the Jets had a SB contending team.

2004 Jets had a SB conteding team.

I love Chad and hes gotten some bad breaks but in his 8 years with the Jets not one went past the divison round. And after last year (although no TOTALLY his fault) something had to be done. He threw some trrible INT’s last year against bengals, bills, Giants, etc. Something HAD to be done.

  152. avatar Dan says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JHpuGOUQ58

and why didnt we see this at all this year from this guy what are the coaches thinking not playing clowney and ratliff is our future clearly doesnt underthrow the longball like brett did all day today

  153. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Klecko, I do apologize, the bills did win today.
    I read the score wrong.

I do hope the Bills win next week, but the Pats as I’m sure most of us saw today are looking pretty strong.
I’ll even go as far as saying that the Pats on this very day look like the best team in the league.

  154. avatar disguisted in jacksonville says:

Same thing every drive….run for 4 or 5, incomplete pass on second, forced to throw on third (usually an under thrown ball or a farve sack) and punt. You have the leading rusher in the AFC and a homerun threat everytime he touches the ball in Leon, but they insist on letting Brett throw incompletion after incompletion. All of the coaches need to go! This team drank the superbowl kool-aid and it showed on the field….that’s a coaching problem!!!! Woody, you want to win and be THE team in NY? Open the wallet and get Cowher!

  155. avatar klecko71 says:

DAN…funny u say that about NFL network…. i got friends who work for SNY, and they saw same on nfl network and got email from someone there.

but i checked the web….and everywhere i see the jets own tiebreak over ravens if they win and ravens lose.

thats why i posted that paragraph a few posts ago.

but…i think a pats loss in buffalo is more likely then a ravens loss at home to jags…even though jags are playing a bit better lately. ravens wont lose at home to them.

  156. avatar mole57 says:

If there is a three-way tie between Balt, Miami, and NYJ, Miami is eliminated immediately, because they’ll be 0-3 head-to-head, and then the Jets beat Balt based on Conference record.

  157. avatar Joe B. says:

Pats looking like the best team in the league. Why am I not shocked at who said this? It was telegraphed that the Cards were going to lay down and die today. They suck, and they had nothing to play for.

  158. avatar Dan in DC says:

Either way, there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that Baltimore will lose at home to Jax next week. Meaning, not a snowball’s chance in hell that Jets will make it in as a WC.

And I’d be shocked if NE lost in Buffalo. Therefore, I see the Jets playing for only two things on Sunday – pride, and determining whether Miami or NE will win the division.

On those long ball throws, have we ever seen a Jet receiver with separation? This team needs outside speed threat. Would love a Wesley Walker type. Dedric Ward would look good now.

  162. avatar klecko71 says:

    freemanmac…. good question.

but how can we lose a 3 way tiebreak if we beat miami 2x…then have a better conference record then baltimore?

from web…. (first line key…division tie break goes first…and we swept miami so they are out)

    Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.

Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.

  164. avatar Fred says:

well look at it like this. In 2004 Chad had good suppor taround him with the elading rusher in the NFL, a good O-line, alright receivers in Moss, Mccarens (ouch) and some others too. Our defense was above average as well. But that clearly doesnt amtter now.

  165. avatar kd bart says:

Two minutes into today’s game, you could see that the Cards did not want to be out there.

  166. avatar Tony G says:

    KD

  167. avatar klecko71 says:

thanks mole =) you made it much easier!!!

but we all know we dont deserve it…. but i guess if we have nothing to play for i hope we roll over and let the dolphins eliminate the pats!!!

goodnite all….sucks to be us….and gonna suck to read the newspapers tmrw.

  168. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

OK Joe, I’ll give you the benifit of the doubt, surely you can back up your logic with some type of evidence. So Please do tell, who looked better than the Pats today?

  169. avatar Dan says:

clowney had the seperation and he would have scored if the ball was thrown better he has the speed the jets have been looking for

  170. avatar James says:

Being a Met fan as well as a Jet fan, Mangini reminds me of Willie Randolph. He came over from the arch rival “championship team” where all they did was sit on their butt while a real coach did all the heavy lifting. They were handed a team that could win on talent alone (2006), then when they were faced with any sort of adversity after starting a season strong (07 Mets, and this years Jets team after the Denver game) they can’t pull the team out of the funk. Its all because they manage not to lose rather than to win. Mangini probably knows more about the X’s and O’s of football than I could dream to know but sometimes going by the book is just painful (not going for the TD on the opening drive this week). Whats worse is he doesn’t even learn from mistakes it was the exact same scenario that showed itself in the SF game. Just like Randolph trotting Heilman out there everyday in Sept. of 07. I usually don’t like to compare the two sports but I don’t understand why teams keep hiring these guys. Sitting and watching a good coach does not make you a good coach. All of Belicheck’s people are struggling, Crennel, Weis, and Mangini. We need a coach with real experience and who will not be afraid to show some emotion and take a gamble.

  171. avatar FreemanMcNeil says:

The way I see it, we would win the tiebreak between Miami and Balt. Let’s hope NE or Balt loses. The way this season has been going, it’s quite possible!

Buffalo will be up for that game.. I guarantee they’ll be fired up. Jags will be as well. It’s their playoff. You never know my friends…you never know

  174. avatar Tony G says:

David Clowney should get a chance to see action. Knowing this coaching staff, we’ll either release him or bench him for next year. The guy has talent, again, maybe for another team. Look at Santana Moss, the man post stats that would be astronomical for the Jets organization.

  175. avatar ridinmywave says:

where are the morons who said mangini was an “aggressive” coach?

  176. avatar Kris says:

The Seahawks play press coverage, and have the linebackers fill the gaps or blitz……
The Jets rush 3, play the corners 10 yards off the ball and, the linebackers backpedaling into a zone at the snap giving the quarterback all day to throw. The Seahawks showed confidence in their defenders…The Jets none….even playing against a “no name” offensive line.
The Jets Offense lines up in “shotgun” in a snow storm and ignores 2 pro bowl running backs in Thomas Jones and Leon Washington………A split personality team…….. The is no other excuse..It’s COACHING, COACHING, COACHING……It’s all on the coaches… You can’t have that many pro bowlers and lose to the Seahawks, Raiders, 49ers and, Chargers in the way the did. They were lucky to beat the Bills and almost lost to the Patriots with that same style of weak defense and split personality offense…… I’m pissed Fire Mangini, Shotty, and Sutton!!!!!!!

    2004 Pittsburgh (21-33, 182 YDS, 0 TDs, 1 INT) 20-17 loss.

Just saying. It certainly seems over for Favre and Chad did plenty of good things for the Jets, but let’s not let revisionist history turn him into Johnny Unitas.

Heard on the radio today…NE has lost only 2 games in December under BB. Buffs, say goodbye, Jets, say good night!

  179. avatar klecko71 says:

matt…they played a team that had nothing to play for….and is an awful road team….in the snow….

    come on man…

but the pats are very good…we all do know that. but yes…today they looked like “the best team in football”….. alot of teams would have against the cards in those elements….

  180. avatar matt says:

losses 6-8 chargers, 3-11 raiders, 5-9 san fran team an 8-7 denver team at home..3-12 seattle…. team games that were much closer then they should of been 2-11 cinci 2-12 kc- miami opener 24-20 you went into prevent ….ne totaly dominated first half second half prevent…..IF MANGINI IS BACK AS HEAD COACH I WILL NOT WATCH THE JETS NEXT YEAR…..CAN’T WIN WITH HIM WON’T WIN WITH HIM NOT GOING TO DO IT…..

  181. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

    Joe B, where ya at?

The Pats look like the best team in the league this week. Prove me wrong, mouth.

  182. avatar matt says:

Can’t say it’s all Favre’s fault here. Mangini stinks. Really. Someone please tell me why we can’t get someone in here who can get this team prepared to play football games that matter. I’d take Favre and his famous INT’s if we had a coach getting pissed about it on the sideline. Mangini makes mistake after mistake and is solely to blame for this collapse. I was also a believer they were an 8-8, or 9-7 team at the start of the season…but after the TEN win, I thought they’d prove me wrong. Now, I’m a Dolphins fan. And for these 2 reasons:
    1. I still have love for Pennington and he’s proving his worth this year on a team with much less offensive talent than the Jets.
    2. A Jets win means the Patriots get to go to the Playoffs…and no Jet fan wants that. (you don’t really think the Pats are going to lose to the Bills next week, right?)

  183. avatar gr33n says:

What’s worse, handing Chad the division title in our house after dumping him, or winning and handing it to the Pats?

    Here’s all I got:

    *vomit*

  184. avatar dade county jets fan says:

we need BRET to throw the ball next week…. BRET RATLIFF that is. That game made me want to throw up. All I can do is hope for jacksonville or buffalo to help the jets out next weekend, and then pray that Chad doesn’t light us up. If Favre plays like this next week and the pats or the ravens are losing Mangidiot better pull him out of the game.

    MANGIDIOT MUST GO!!!!

  185. avatar Steve says:

Check that out ^ . Please comment too.

  186. avatar John says:

Dan, I totally agree with you. Brett Ratliff is the future of this team. That kid was smokin in the preseason. I definitetly see an exciting spark in that kid. Clemens blows the big one, and I think it is time for Favre to hang up the cleets for good. I don’t think Mangini is going anywhere, but please somebody light a firecracker under that guy’s ass. He is as lack luster as dry toast. At minimum Sutton has to go for certain. I wish Sh***y, but I have a feeling they won’t get rid of his conservative ass either.

  187. avatar Tony G says:

Question: What is it like for the Jets coaching staff when they see other QB’s throw for 350 yards? I’m tired of seeing stats like 17-24-169yds. Peyton Manning has those numbers at half time. Used to get pissed at Pennington, but Farve is the same. Proof that it is the coaching and play calling…

  188. avatar swizzle81 says:

At least Favre won’t be back next year, hopefully, 19 INT’s in excuseable as a QB. His decision making was atrocious today and for most of the year, he was clearly the worst player on the field today, good riddance old man. Oh and get rid of the incompetent coaching staff while your at too..

  189. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Your right, the cards aren’t an elite team.
But the way the Pats execution in the snow was ridiculous. Both on Offense and D.
That’s all I’m saying. Believe me, I hate the Pats as much as anyone.
I do hope they loose next week for sure, I just don’t see it happening.

  190. avatar matt2 says:

    Already looking to next year?
    1. Do we have a shot at Cowher? Or did we spend all our money in FA last year?
    2. Is there any out there other than me that think Ratliff is the future at QB?

  191. avatar Liam says:

Is there a precedent for this? Sitting at 8-3 playing all-world football against very tough competition and then regressing to play, arguably, the worst football in the entire AFC over the last four games?? Think about how awful this team has been the last four games: blown out at home by a mediocre Denver team, lose by two scores at a five win SF team, win because of a fluke defensive play at the end of the game against a bills team mired in the worst slump in the nfl (outside of detroit), lose to a 3 win Seattle team by two scores.

Tannembaum has proved to be a solid gm in many respects, except one: picking his head coach and letting him assemble one of, if not, the worst coaching staffs in the NFL. Does he have the balls to fire his close friend and bring in fresh blood???

  192. avatar GlockNSoul says:

The Jets were less prepared than each of their last 4 opponenets, many of whom had awful records. When you get outcoached by bad teams, the equation is simple – Mangini must go. He can not get this team prepared to win.

  193. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

I really like Rat. Clemmens to me doesn’t seem like he’s got alot to offer.
I also like Cassel if we have a shot at him.

  194. avatar ridinmywave says:

is it me, or if we had a qb with the slightest ability to scramble, we would avoid these blind, cross field interceptions?…situations where it would clearly be the best descion to tuck the ball and gain a few yards, we have to succumb to brainless passes…..time and time again, i see a 50 year old qb, whos legs arent strong enough, so he has no other choice but to launch into double coverage whenever no one is open. ive seen it so many times where a play doesnt develop immediatly, so in reaction, the man checks over beforer checking under and launches passes intstead of gaining a few……..just a thought.

  195. avatar Chris says:

I have had enough of this mess of a franchise. Another letdown….. The whole coaching staff needs to go starting with Mangidiot. The team looked unprepared and never makes any adjustments. Clearly, the jets were exposed in the Denver game by Shanahan. This coaching staff has been unable to respond.

This team gives me nothing.. constant dissappointment… they have moved their practice HQ to Jersey, their new stadium is in Jersey (no offense to NJ folks), I am done… I am buying my kids all Giant gear!!!

  196. avatar kd bart says:

When the announcers are openingly questioning and mocking your play selection and/or defensive calls/adjustments, you know you are being coached and prepared poorly. Tasker was wondering all day how a make shift offensive line could dominate the Jets all day.

  197. avatar matt2 says:

Cassel would be fine as well. I still like our OL and our DL. But WHAT HAPPENED THE PRESSURE? One key element we missed in all these games down the stretch was QB pressure.

I say go immediately to Ratliff next year and keep Clemens as a back-up. Let Cassel go to SF and save the ungodly money you’d have to pay him. If our OL stays intack, Ratliff could be fine.

Who could fill in for Mangini? Who’s out there?

  198. avatar ridinmywave says:

btw, im watching the giants panthers game right now getting extremely jealous of how balanced a team carolina is…..for some reason their play calling enables good seperation for their wideouts and their running game???….they actually use it, we have two good backs of our own, well deserving of a nickname, but gets shafted by our dumb ass caoching staff so much, they never got the recognition they deserved…….and btw, was i the only one who saw jay feely on the sideline today??…he looked like he wanted to slap fire outta mangini when he called them off the field to punt.

  199. avatar pkpiazza says:

if we lose next week, where would we be in the draft, like late teens, and wat good QB’s will be available then

  200. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

One thing I think can’t be over looked is:
If Brett’s been bad the entire game, and you have Leon and Jones in the backfield, how do you let Favre air it out on 3rd & 2?

This happened a few times. I don’t think that should go unpunished. You’ve got the better team, you line up and and you go at them, period.

I think the point that Manginni misses is this:
When you’ve got the inferior team you have to outsmart them. When you have the better team you line up and outplay them.

  201. avatar Matt says:

    LMAO!!

    J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK!!!

    Go FINS!!!

  202. avatar Dan says:

Could care less about playoff scenario’s. This team is dead to me.

  203. avatar kd bart says:

Favre still has it in his mind that he can still make the type of throws he use to make regularly 10 years ago. He still hasn’t quite got it yet that, physically, he can’t do that anymore. Still believes he can. It’s like Piazza in his last days with the Mets not realizing he couldn’t catch up to that high fastball he use to crush. Mentally, it was there but he’d lost a split second off of his swing.

  204. avatar Mangina says:

i went them to flex this game next week. when will we know

  205. avatar Kris says:

The Seahawks play press coverage, and have the linebackers fill the gaps or blitz……
The Jets rush 3, play the corners 10 yards off the ball and, the linebackers backpedaling into a zone at the snap giving the quarterback all day to throw. The Seahawks showed confidence in their defenders…The Jets none….even playing against a “no name” offensive line.
The Jets Offense lines up in “shotgun” in a snow storm and ignores 2 pro bowl running backs in Thomas Jones and Leon Washington………A split personality team…….. There is no other excuse..It’s COACHING, COACHING, COACHING……It’s all on the coaches… You can’t have that many pro bowlers and lose to the Seahawks, Raiders, 49ers and, Chargers in the way the did. They were lucky to beat the Bills and almost lost to the Patriots with that same style of weak defense and split personality offense…… I’m pissed Fire Mangini, Shotty, and Sutton!!!!!!!

They should just line up and beat their opponent! Am I wrong????

    Kris – Owings Mills, Maryland

  206. avatar kd bart says:

NBC already announced SD/Denver next Sunday night.

  207. avatar greg says:

We find out about the flex on Tuesday. I still think it will be our game — the division is still on the line, the Pats and Belichik will be home rooting for the Jets and Mangini (great subplot), Pennington taking a 1-15 team back home to win the division, and possibly Favre’s last game ever. That is better ratings than Denv-SD in my opinion. The execs at NBC could give a rat’s ass if the Jets were alive or not, it’s still a huge game for Fins and Pats.

  208. avatar swizzle81 says:

All the Jets needed this year was a QB who could manage the game, why not give Ratliff a chance next year, I guarantee you he will not throw 20 INT’s which Favre is on pace for. Thanks for nothing old man, like I said earlier when they signed him I thought it was a bad move. At the very least the Jets need 2 new coordinators and a good kick in the ass. And a new secondary with the exception of Revis. Has anyone seen 25 this year?

  209. avatar greg says:

kd bart, they announce it Tuesday. They have a meeting on Tuesday morning about it. That hasn’t happened yet. Unless you think the execs all watched the games together.

  210. avatar kd bart says:

Al Michaels already stated they’ll be in SD for Denver/SD during the Giant game.

  211. avatar jim says:

  212. avatar Tedy Bruschi says:

Hey Coach Mangenious, thanks for the help!

Sorry Jests fans, some things just never change!!!

    Go Pats!

  213. avatar Najy says:

    This game really sucked….

I really feel that playcalling, coaching, and on field execution is to blame for the loss today. Some very questionable decision, poor tackling, poor QB play, lack of pressure and bad drops by the WRs.

However, the season is still not over yet. Next year is a loooooooooooong time from now, so we should try to enjoy the rest of this season; however long it will last us.

Root for the Pats and Baltimore to lose next Sunday. All we can do is have some faith.

IMHO, we should talk about firing Mangini and the coaching staff after the season is over. There will be plenty of time to discuss those issues.

    HAVE SOME FAITH…

  214. avatar Dan says:

Brett Ratliff #5 on the field number 1 in our hearts<3 hopefully

  215. avatar Tedy Bruschi says:

    Brett Favre- 31 pass attempts.
    There’s your game.”

    A perfect summation, sir.

And to think, the media was seriously considering contingency plans for the meadowlands in case the Giants and Jets both hosted their respective conference championship game.

Tannenbaum, you reap what you sow.

I’m absolutely disgusted with the play calling and lack of effort of this team.

  217. avatar ridinmywave says:

why does everybody keep bringing up the ravens in this playoff talk? if jets win next week and pats loose….we win the afc east. thats our only way into the playoffs……who the hell cares what the ravens do?

  218. avatar New Haven Jets Fan says:

Eric Mangini has to be the worst coach in the league today! I’d rather have Rod Marinelli at the helm than the lifeless, emotionless, slug of a pethtic excuse for a head coach that the green and white employ currently. The guy has no guts, no fire, and just sits there on the sidelines, never gets fired up when there is a good or a bad Jets play. How can you play for a guy who doesn’t even give a crap about the team? This sqad had so much potential and has so so much talent. But beacuse of our sloth of a leader the team has failed to make the playoffs yet again… FIRE MANGINI (and B Shot and Bob Sutton)…

Here’s what is going to happen:

    1. Jets will win vs. Miami
    2. NE will beat Buffalo to win the AFC East, thus leaving NYJ out of postseason play.
    3. Jets front office will NOT grow a pair and fire Mangini, Mike Tanabalm and Woody will give him another year to “build his program”
    4. Shotty and Sutton will be let go.
    5. Brett Farve will retire and never come back to the tri-state area again…
    6. Us Jets fans will have to sit and watch the organization throw $$ at Matt Cassel in hopes that another ex-new englander can salvage NY’s team…
    7. The Jets will make another stupid draftpick which we will have to suffer with only to watch our GM trade him away a few years later. or lose him to FA.

All in all this is a horrible day to be a fan of the Green and White… God Bless us Jets Fans, and Happy Holiday’s to everyone!

  219. avatar Tedy Bruschi says:

Pats just don’t lose in December, so enjoy your offseason again Jests fans…..our 7th round QB will be carrying us into the post-season while your HOFer will be cashing Woody’s checks and playing golf….same old Jets!!

  220. avatar matt says:

I know it’s bad but let’s not call for heads until NE wins next week cause chad isn’t going to b able to throw the bAll 10 yards next week… Let’s go buffalo

  221. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Seriously, what do you think the Vegas odds are of Buffalo winning next week?
Are you familiar with the New England Patriots?
Have you been paying attention the past ten years?

Yes, it is possible….however it is very, very, very unlikely.

  222. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

We’ve been making the worst of QB’s look amazing this year, you don’t think CP is going to have a decent game?

I’d love to have faith, but reason says we’re done. It’s over. The only good that can come from this season now is if the coaching staff were to be fired right now, Don’t even wait for the end of the season, fire ‘em now, let it be a headline in the morning paper.

  223. avatar Silversword55 says:

Brett favre, you suck, get out of town. You too Mangini!

  224. avatar TimNC says:

This coaching regime, Mangini included, does not have the skills at all to go anywhere with this team. They are all in way over their heads, and Mangini gets no free passes from me. I’ve seen nothing from him that convinces me that he deserves to be a head coach in the NFL. IMO, the teams successes (few as they’ve been) since he’s been here have been in spite of him.

  225. avatar Morgan says:

    GreenGuy,

I left a message for my boss to bring in Clemens at hafltime if Manigini had any balls.

Its obvious that Farve does not have much left.

I think that we all just wished and hoped he could take us there (playoffs). Vinny had more left when he did his stuff. We got sucked into the Farve swan song that has been going on for 3 years. The reason Woody pays these coaches/GM is to look past our hearts and make the right decisions. Lets get this straight right now:

GETTING FARVE WAS NOT THE RIGHT DECISION !!!

as mush as you or I would like to believe it back when it happened.

Q/A: How many precise Jet events do you remember (besides Games and Drafts) where you know exactly where you were ?

Ans: When we hired Parcells way back then. And we F****** that up too, cause he should now be a part owner.

This is why when you find the right guy whose is willing to make it his life, you should give him whatever he wants.

  226. avatar BC says:

I watched this game today. I have am tired of the coaches wasting my sundays. I am optimistic. The Jets can beat the Dolphins and the Bills could beat the Patriots. I don’t see the Ravens losing to the Jaguars. If anyone reads the Falcons and Ravens schedules you will see that they did not lose to any bad teams. Huh? New coaches preparing their teams. Even one week the Falcons coach was yelling at his team for a good play. I watched a Steelers game last week and Mike Tomlin was going crazy. We need fire on the sidelines, not the Pillsbury Dough Boy and the 5 yard pass play caller.

  227. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

It’s true, his f irst year he had a team that Herm Edwards built. Herm’s last year the team lost the majority of their team to injury. It would have been a good team too. They healed and came back the following year under Manginni and made the playoffs.
People started using the term “mangenious” giving him undue credit.
Since then He has accomplished nothing at all.
Not making the playoffs with the talent that this team bought is dispicable.

  228. avatar klecko71 says:

from the AP recap of the loss….

The Jets gave away seven potential points on two decisions by coach Eric Mangini. Their lone score came on a 20-yard field goal by Jay Feely to end the opening drive, after Mangini decided against going for it on fourth down with a half-yard to go at the 2 against the league’s 30th-ranked defense.

“I anticipated the game being tight, and I thought at that point the important thing would be to get points,” Mangini said.

Even Seattle’s defenders were shocked Mangini didn’t go for the touchdown, with linebacker Lofa Tatupu saying, “Why wouldn’t they?”

Favre said: “There was no sense in thinking we wouldn’t be back there.”

But New York never got inside Seattle’s 27 after that.

That was early in the fourth quarter. The Jets were then inexplicably penalized for delay of game just before Feely made a 45-yard field goal that was good by more than 5 yards. But after the 5-yard penalty, Mangini chose to punt. Feely angrily protested to his coach as he stomped off the snowy field.

um…..we are a joke thanks to this coaching staff. mostly schott and sutton, but mangini has to take blame for the D as well. its pretty simple isnt it?

  229. avatar New Haven Jets Fan says:

    GO BILLS!

  230. avatar Shiek Looch says:

What kind of gum is Mangini chewing out there??

  231. avatar Shtan says:

New Haven Jets fan you called it perfectly.

Why can’t the Jets coaches let Vernon Gholston be a 3rd down pass rushing specialist like John Abraham is? At least he could have been broken into the 3-4 defense this way.

This team will never win anything under the present coaching staff.

I would consider making Mike Westoff the HC of NYJ.

  232. avatar Tedy Bruschi says:

Jets fans = sell outs, no heart!

  233. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

The thing that kills me is that you can’t say Manginni is conservative or that he’saggressive because there’s no pattern aside from stupid.

For instance, on 3rd and 2 he’ll call for pass plays or he’ll let Favre throw it 30 yards down the field on 4th & 4, but on 4&1 at his opponents 3 he’ll kick the field goal?

If they go for it and get it, they have the momentum right from the start and Seattle lays down.

Manginni is just a bad decision maker, I don’t know how else to say it. Bad Bad Bad. Fire Fire Fire.

  234. avatar Matt Lafflin says:

Bruschi, you don’t have anything else to do?
You probably aren’t even from NE, you’re probably just a front runner.
    Either way your a looser.

  235. avatar Tedy Bruschi says:

Matty, thx for the response at least one of the gang green group of sell outs has enough heart to say something…it looks like most of the fans show about the same amount of emotion as your dumb&*# coach!

BTW, good analysis Matty “Bad Bad Bad Fire Fire Fire” – insightful!!

  236. avatar Shtan says:

I don’t understand why the Jet defense plays without emotion. I certainly can’t figure out why it has become so bad the past 4 weeks. I imagine that Jenkins is hurting a lot more than he’s says. I can’t figure out why the coaches didn’t call for more blitzes. They had Wallace running for his life early in the game one on of the few blitzes. This was incredibly painful loss to endue as a fan…I’m beside myself knowing the Jets crapped away a great opportunity to win the division and make noise in the playoffs.

  237. avatar eddie digio says:

Mangini schott and sutton are terrible. chad would have done the same thing brett did because only this offense can make two quarterbacks of their caliber look bad. im now convinvced its the system and playcalling, i really hope chad puts teh nail in mangini’s coffin sunday and brett it was nice knowing you..

  238. avatar JoeMustGo says:

Everyone agrees that both coordinators need to go. So, much as I hate the thought of starting over yet again, you have to fire Mangini. On the bright side, none of the players seemed to understand our offensive or defensive schemes, so how much disruption could a new coaching staff cause?

  239. avatar Jerry says:

Goodbye Mangini – Hello Bill Cower!!!

  240. avatar scary says:

yeah and the Bruschi loving scumbag needs to find himself a life. Oh BTW go F#@$ yourself too. New England people suck.

  241. avatar BrettBlows says:

Lets relax on the whole Ratliff thing. At least not leap frog him over Clemens. No QB could play behind last year’s line. So Clemens gets a pass. All Ratliff did was light it up in preseason. You know who else did that? Clemens last year. One of them might be the answer. Or neither may be. Fact is we got the dillhole and wasted a year of development. Well played.

  242. avatar Jose the Jet says:

EVERYTIME WE GO NO HUDDLE BRETT NEVER THROWS THE BALL AWAY. ITS LIKE HE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO THROW THE BALL AWAY. HAS HE DONE THAT ONCE THIS YEAR? THE THROW TO LC WAS UNBELIEVABLE. 4 AND 4 AND YOU GO LONG. AND HE IS DOUBLE TEAMED. WHAT HAPPENED TO RUNNING THE BALL. I STILL REMEMBER CURTIS MARTIN RUNNNG THE BALL ON 3 RD AND 15 PLUS AND GETTING A FIRST DOWN. LEON WAS NO WHERE TO BE HEARD OF. HAVE WE RAN THE BALL ON 3RD OR FOURTH DOWNS DURING A NO HUDDLE. BRETT PANICS AND GOES LONG. WHEN ALL YOU NEED IS A FIRST DOWN. WE ALWAYS PLAY DOWN OR UP TO OUR OPPONENT. WE HAD NO PRESSURE ON THE QB AGAIN.

THE RECORD OF THE NON-CONFERENCE TEAMS THE JETS LOST TO IS LESS THAN 500. AND WE DONT FIND A WAY OF RUNNING THE BALL 60% OF THE TIME . WE DONT HAVE MANY RUNNING PLAYS IT SEEMS..

  243. avatar New Haven Jets Fan says:

Yo Shtan, the reason the Jet defense and the entrie team plays without emotion is because their head coach shows no emotion… their is no REAL leader of this sqad this season… Brett could care less about the NYJ… Chris Jenkins- No. Kerry Rhodes- No. LC- Doesn’t really lead, just complains to B. Shotty about not getting the ball… there was never really any leadership on this team this year to fire these guys up to play. And this team’s head coach certainly never did that… the losses to OAK, SD, SF, DEN, and today to SEA pretty much prove my point… Mangini is not the guy for the Jets. Never has been, Never will be. We need a guy that has heart, that’ll get in players faces and fire them up… I like the prospect of Bill Colwer, but who says he would even want to come to NY… I say the Jets post the head coach opening up on Career Builder tonight and forego the enivatable…

  244. avatar Jose the Jet says:

YOU CAN ONLY BLAME BRETT FOR THIS GAME. THE NEEDLESS INTERCEPTION. ON THAT PLAY HE HAD SOMEONE OPEN IN HE MIDDLE ON THAT PLAY BUT INSTEAD GOES ACROSS THE FIELD. ONE WEEK HE SAYS HIS ARM S NOT STRONG ENOUGH THE NEXT WEEK HE TRIES TO DO SOMETHING HE SHOUDLNT. OUR INABILITY TO RUN THE BALL AND CONTROL THE GAME USING THE RUN IS WHY THE JETS LOSE GAMES TO LESSER TEAMS. WE ARE NOT CREATIVE IN OUR RUNNING GAME.

  245. avatar Dol-fan says:

Hey Jet fans thanks for Chad Pennington. That whole Brett Farve thing has really worked out for you!! A 1-15 team a year ago with about a third of your salary cap will be the AFC East division winner. It really looks like your coach is taking your team in the right direction, the New Jersey dump. See you next week to claim our title. Go Fish!!!!!

  246. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THERE IS NO REASON WHY WE HAVE MORE THROWING PLAYS THAN RUNING PLAYS ON A DAY LIKE THIS. ALL THE SNOW AND WE CANT RUN. WE AVERAGED THE SAME YARDAGE RUNNING AND THROWING. SO WHY THROW. NO RUNNING CREATIVITY.

  247. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THE THING IS I THINK MANGINI IS GUTLESS. HE CANT CONTROL BRETT. WHEN HE WAS IN CHECK WE WON 5 IN A ROW. THEN HE STARTED THROWING A BOMB A DAY AND KEPT THE OTHER TEAM IN THE GAME.

  248. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WHY IS IT THAT TJ DOESNT REQUEST THE BALL. HE NEEDS TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE SELFISH AND SPEAK UP!!

  249. avatar scary says:

Additonally, I have been a fan since early grade school. Since 74-75. I was too young to remember the one and only Super Bowl win. However anybody who has followed thisteam has got to feel dejected. The last time they were really good was 1998 when Parcells was coach, Testeverde, yes, Vinny ,from Long Island Testeverde, was QB and had the only really great year of his long career. They lost to Denver who happened to be better ,20 or 23-3 in the AFC title game. Denver then rolled over Atlanta in the Super Bowl as the JEts would have had they won the AFC. Before that the only other year they were really good was 85 or 86 when injuries killed the then Joe Walton coached Jets. But even then they had three defenseive lineman with 20 or more sacks in the season.. Remember the NY sack exchange? Gastineau, Klecko, Lyons, and Salaam. Even then they couldn’t win. Lost to Cleveland Browns in the playoffs who were guided by the average unorthodox Bernie Kosar. I really think the Jets are cursed. They probably won’t ever win a title again. This owner sucks and doesn’t show a serious commitment to win. I really don’t understand it but I’m still a fan and always will be. Draft picks have usually been poor. They make horrible first round picks. Although this year I believe Keller is a possible great TE. But generally they pick losers in round 1. We need new coaching staff and a QB. Clemens and Ratliff are not NFL 1st stringers. I don’t know about Ainge but obviously we are in trouble at that position for next year. Teh coaching has been nothing less than poor. Schottenhoser is a horrible O coordinator. Horrible. Mangini has proven nothing. Fire him today. Don’t wait until next week. Give him the axe. Show a commitment to win and bring in a coach who can light a fire under this team. I mean Carolina who hasn’t been around long has been much more prosperous than our Jets. We need help

If bill cowher had 9 pro bowlers on his team he’d be 12-3 right now. Bottom line

New HC, OC and DC… and Mike Vick in ’09.

Call it false hope if you like, but I’m still not ready to write this team off. Either the Bills beating the Patriots OR the Jaguars beating the Ravens would put the Jets right back in control of their own destiny. It’s not really that unlikely that one of those two teams will lose.

Not that I’m confident the Jets will beat the Dolphins at this point, but with Atlanta, Chicago, San Diego, Miami and the Jets all having a chance to win their divisions, I think it’s fair to say stranger things have happened this season.

Also, while I’m not a big fan of the job Mangini has done so far, I would have been even less confident in Tom Coughlin at this point last season. That’s what makes the NFL great, whatever you think you know, you don’t.

Too bad you guys have to endure another loss next week when we come up to your place to administer your last whipping of the year. You will soon find out what we’re really about and realize that the team you lucked out and barely beat in week 1 is a mere figment of your imagination.

F, We beat you once and, we probably will beat you again. If we had coaching, we would thrash you. What has your team won lately. Go smoke some weed with your RB and mellow out.

Hey Jets, thanks for Pennington. We couldn’t have done it without you. See you from the playoffs.
