It is obvious that Brett's better days are behind him. But as much as I see the complaining about 22 INT's. Take a look at his 2005 season.

The reality: The Packers suffer their first losing season in the Favre Era.
The Cheesehead fantasy: The Packers went 4-12 because Favre had no talent around him.
The Cold, Hard Football Facts: Eight times in the 2005 season, Favre took the field in the fourth quarter with his team in position to tie or take the lead and a chance for him to play the role of hero. In all eight games, he threw crushing interceptions that killed any hopes for victory. Favre’s 29 picks that year are the most thrown by any quarterback in the past 20 years.

After beating the San Francisco 49ers in the 1997 NFC
Championship Game, Favre won just three of his last 10 playoff games. Eli Manning had more postseason wins in a 29-day span this past season than Favre had in his last decade with the Green Bay Packers.

Yes, Favre won a Super Bowl -- 11 years ago!
But as his career arc spiraled downward, the blind adulation only got worse. Favre's passer rating in his last 12 postseason games was a pedestrian 77.8. In his last five wild-card games, he went 2-3 with more interceptions (nine) than touchdown passes (seven). In his last three divisional playoff games, he went 1-2 with seven TDs and seven interceptions. That's a 3-5 record with 14 touchdown passes and 16 picks.
In two of his last four postseason appearances, Favre threw two of the most unthinkable playoff interceptions in NFL history, both in overtime -- to Brian Dawkins of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2003 and to Corey Webster of the New York Giants in January 2008. In fact, Favre is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw overtime interceptions in two playoff games. In his last nine playoff games, Favre threw 18 interceptions.

Nay.
Let Ratliff or Clemens fight it out. Favre was a liability in November and December. Ask BF to retire or cut him.
For all the win now talk, we'd like to be competitive the year after next, too. Our future starts now.

But how did Schott get an interview instead of a one way bus ticket, that's what I want to know.

Ratliff is the Jet QB of the future. Ratliff, Ratliff,Ratliff. Clemens sucks. He can leave with Favre. People talk about Clemens behind the new O line, what about Ratliff behind the new O line? That kid has fire and leadership. Clemens does not have these qualities.

yay!!!

I can't believe the amount of venomous hatred I'm seeing rite now! I'm seriously thankful, you're all not running this organization! I know this season hurts even more because of where we were after week 12, but do you honestly think Favre will throw 22 picks next year? I certainly don't! The heart of the problem this year was "PLAYCALLING"!!! Why the hell was Favre asked to throw the ball 40 friggin' times against Miami? Why did'nt Leon Washington get more touches, "THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE YEAR"??? Now I'm not saying Brett was making great decisions, but if we ran the ball with #20 more, maybe some of those picks would be more scarce!!! Just a thought!!! Happy New Year Everyone!!! GO JETS!!!

Pats are gonna Franchise Cassel and trade him outsidethe division. They're not as stupid as Mike T was, no way would they let him just walk and sign with the Jets. I'd take a shot at Derek Anderson (3rd or 4th round pick) the guy had a bad year but he also had about 10 dropped balls per game.

Here’s another good questions: WHo’s to say that a rookie quarter back with a new system, new style of coaching, and starting in his first season won’t throw 20+ picks….and i agree that 13 million is a big number with other needs on this Jet team but really who we going to sign in the free agent market that will make us feel all safe and warm at night.Ran down the list myself today and notta one jumped off the page and said PICK ME I’M a proven leader and winner….In my oppion the best choice at a franchisable quarter back at this time is CASSEL…Tell me he is a product of a system and i’ll tell ya he can be a product of our system too.I cant stand people who say he is a product of the system WHAT ELSE IS HE SUPPOSED TO BE>>>>>AND i love the fact that people say he is a backup are YOU going to bench BRADY and start anyother quarterback PERIOD in the league….I think not….For a team that everyone and their mother single out games against them in the preseason CASSEL played with better poise than 98% of the veteran quarter backs in the league….AND to think his defense was the oldest in the league and didn’t save his ass at all this year SIGN him before another team realize he can be the next ELWAY,MONTANA,or BRADY….I absolutely despise bill-a-cheat and the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS but i’ll take a proven, field tested, winning quarterback from any team willing to part with em……
