My first choice for HC was Cowher. Since he turned us down, my next choice would be Shanahan. The only co-ordinator I like for the job is Rex Ryan. He has been a six year success running the Defense in Baltimore.
I don’t think I want the Tuna back. He did a great job with the JETS but left the job unfinished when he went for the money. -

ED, Cowler and Parcell are both out of contention.ADAM SCHEFFER stated that only for the respect of WOODY J did they contact him to say thanks for the offer but NO THANKS…WOODY and MIKE T BETTER sell the job to RYAN because in no way shape of form does SHANAHAN come to NY to deal with the FAVRE mess and deal with the NY media and win now at all cost attitude of our front office…Shanahan also doesnt use the 3-4 which once again would set us back a few years on defense unless we go on a shopping spree again for a DT,LB,and cover corner WHICH is something we cant afford to do unless we dont resign FAVRE and cut alot of defensive players…

omg, im really starting to question alot of of peoples football smarts (even the front office) why shannahan is the best option out there??what would he bring to this jets team, or better yet improve this jets team considering issues we had thi past year??
hire rex ryan, and stop the damn popularity contest, i thought some of you would have learned that from last year, woory about what makes THIS team better and not PSLs.

Does anyone know if Mangini got any type of serverance. I read somewhere that he got 2million.If that is the case, why did he interview with the Browns ?
If there is a severance is that reduced or eliminated if he takes another NFL job ? From a family perspective isn’t it better to take the year off, come back as a DC or HC in 2010, fresh and with a little perspective. -

And BTW just because a coach is used to coaching under a certain defense doesnt mean they will keep it when coming to a new team. When Mike Tomlin came to Pitt, he was a 4-3 coach but he kept the 3-4 because the personel was already in place

Doesn’t change my view that Favre should be one and done, but tempers a little of the hysteria in the media about the state of the locker room.

TJ made those statements today to show he wasnt a punk. He didnt completely back track from what he said. Favre played like garbage down the stretch and the team was pissed about it. He dosent talk much so you know he meant what he said……I know I was sitting here as a fan scratching my head wondering what the hell Favre was doing. You dont think the players were thing the same thing? Again it dosent take away from poor coaching and bad defense but Favre was a HUGE factor in this team being home this weekend.

We have gotten no where in 40 years hiring assistants. We won with Weeb and we would have won with the Tuna. Both were experienced HCs. The rest of the assistants were failures. That is why I wanted Cowher.
So if we don’t hire Shanahan, I would opt for a very experienced DC in Rex Ryan. -
I agree with The Editor….I am tired of trying the hot assistant. Coslet, Carroll, Herm, Mangini etc…Just get me a true bigtime coach. Get me Shanahan.
