While You Were Out …

normal_dr_strangelove.01.jpgWhile our world has been going to hell in a handbasket, the Jets made a small roster move that might be of some interest to the team down the road. The Jets resigned RB Marcus Mason (a TJB binkie) on 12.31.08.

Mason led the 2008 NFL Preseason in yardage as a running back with Washington, and although Mason saw no real time with the Jets during the season, he’s still a promising player that could turn into an option for the staff in the future.

  1. I certainly understand signing Mason for depth, nice size, strong between the tackles, hedging what may be available in Free Agency (not much in RB’s) and the Draft. What I don’t understand is the journey, they brought him in about week 10 , stayed on the PS, was cut approx.week 14, brought him back week 16, and then cut him the same week. Que Pasa…Caulcrick and Mason your depth ar Running back

  2. The straws (the one’s we are grasping for) are getting much thinner.

I know JETS management is going to stay mum on the past three years, but it would be nice to find out what actually happened. Now we hear Shotty “might have been the plan all along” (OMG).

If all the folks posting here (and most are great) watched the same games I watched, they saw a tight (not to lose), too cute and out coached team for all three years. Yes we won 10 the first year, but against a VERY easy sched, but overall this team just plain underachieved week after week.
We really need to know what when on UNLESS they clean house completely and that includes Tanny-and I never said that before.
    Please, let’s get info.

  3. jas … link on schott?

  4. The Jets are idiots. Last year was one of the deepest draft classes ever for RB. And they came away with Danny Woodhead and Caulrick as free agents. Come on now… I mean, they could have even picked up a big contributor in the 6th or 7th round.

    This is ridiculous.

Stop signing also-rans and draft a damned running back!!! other teams do it. Look at Chicago’s starter. Look at Tashard Choice.

RB is the easiest position to transition to from college. Why can’t the Jets pick up somebody???

  5. Stafford
    Bradford
    Moreno
    Wells

If all 4 of those bodies go to the draft this year, and they is a good belief that they all will, at least one of them will be there when we pick in the 1st. I would be excited about any of them. Not to say there aren’t a lot of players I will be excited about come draft time. Hell I’m not saying these are even my favorites right now, I’m just thinking out loud.

  6. and there* is
