I began to prepare myself after the Seattle lose. The reason, I realized the Jets would not beat the (HATED) Dolphins even in the Meadowlands. Did Favre just wear down? No the decision making was a major problem the talent around him and the 39 year young Favre bring up the rear for blame. There seems to be enough to go around, so I will let everyone have some. RUN the ball, with Jones and Washington they could have run into playoffs, get a big Wide out hot routes (slants thrown high can be caught), and finally make a decision as to what type of team you are. But I live with a Bills fan, and try telling them that their franchise has been better off than ours over the last 50 years. Their history is insanely sad. We have Joe Namath as our embassador and 1969, they have OJ Simpson as their best player, wide right and 0-4 in super bowl (and don't try "at least they made it" cause they got blown out in the other three and consider it a black mark), and have been awful now for years with more blown good starts than anyone. There are plenty of other teams but you get the idea. Every city but a few lucky ones have the right to rant too, I'm not saying you don't have that right, I'm just saying keep it in perspective and realize you are not the only team with a checkered past and it could be worse. I'm not much for throwing tantrums, but how can you not at least identify with the sentiment of the post? - being exhausted with the constant frustration that this team gives. The feeling that no matter how many steps forward they take, they'll find a way to take just as many back. There was a lot of talk during the season by (among others) ESPN's talking heads, asking "what is this teams identity". they were referring to running/passing team of course - but when you think about it, "frustration" is the team's (and the fanbase's) real identity. It's the rant. It's a paper bag over your head saying "Just End The Season." It's listening to Joe Beningo on the radio launching into 20 minutes about why he can't take it anymore and knowing that while fans of other teams may be listening, only a jets fan really gets it.
