Yeah, please stop with the foolish billick inquiries. :is lone superbowl win came of benefit of a terrific defense. Nobody really benefited from his offensive wit.
Instead of why haven’t the JETS interviewed billick….why hasn’t any other team in the league inquired about billick’s services the last two years. I mean, even mangini found a job right after he was fired…..and all the other “established” coaches aren’t coaching by choice, but that’s not the case for billick. This aint a damn popularity contest, its “who fits this team and what we are trying to do”…..let the men do their job

It’s not that Billick ia to big for the job, it’s just that his head is too big. He is an arrogant SOB with nothing to be arrogant about. The “offensive genius” was carried by a defense that he had no say in. He cut the QB that won them the superbowl and couldn’t find a replacement. He’s right where he belongs, out of coaching.

Help me understand the league rules. Why is everyone saying Mike Tannenbaum is having a hard time pulling the trigger?

Do you really think we’re promoting Brian Schottenheimer?

This is not the same General Manager who hire Rich Kotite! Rather, he’s chosen Rex Ryan and is simply waiting for Raven’s season to end, so he can make the announcement. Ryan’s our HC. Let’s move onto the 2009 draft with CB, S, ILB, (Fast) WR, RB, NG and OT in mind. And, no we don’t need to draft an elite QB in the 1st round. We have Clemens… and he was a steal in the ‘06 draft with good accuracy and can deliver the ball downfield. It’s time to drop the clipboard and pilot this team behind a rebuilt offensive line and improved running game.

Enough said!

I’ll say it again…I don’t know why Brian Billick is not a serious candidate. Maybe he is too big for Woody and Tanny.

Excellent point, if either Spags or Schott was really the leader at this point they probably would have offered them the job already, the longer this goes on the more obvious it is that Ryan is the guy.

One thing seems clear to me, and another seems very likely. 1: Rex Ryan is the guy. Thats why no offer has been made yet. 2. If Rex chooses St. Louis over the Jets, Schott is the guy. I suppose its possible that if Spags is still on the table the job would go to him, but reading the tea leaves I think the preference is for Schott and continuity (continue to run a 3-4).

I have to be honest, I agree with the guy that said Mike T. should hire the person he feels is the best man to run this team, even if it’s B. Schott, and even if the fans and media cry about it.

They raised some valid questions about the talent level on the Ravens D, and the ability to work in the NY market under the scrutiny of the fans and media there.

And lets be honest about one more thing – many Jets fans may be screaming for Rex Ryan now, but if they hire him and it doesn’t work out, the same fans will be demanding Mike T.’s head on a platter.

Tannenbaum cannot win in this situation unless he happens to pick a coach that takes the Jets deep into the playoffs on a regular basis, so he should just pull the trigger on whomever he thinks is the right guy for this team right now.

shenanigans, this is SNY spinning their wheels, pandering to an angry fan base. this is no different than ESPN trying to stir up a controversy about something with the cowboys.

the only serious candidates are Rex Ryan, Steve Spagnuolo and Brian Schottenhiemer.
