The First 100 Days: Day 10

Just like another administration’s first 100 days, so too TJB will be keeping watch over the Rex Ryan administration for the first 100 days … playing it by the numbers if you will. Each day, we’ll try keep the associated day number in play.

  1. sooo whose gonna wear #10 this season?

hey Bassett, how can i sponser my Jets website here?

  2. didn’t Ainge where 10 in college

  3. oh and 10 as in whens the last time we eveh won more games than 10 in a season

  4. im glad chad gone as far as im concern he’ll never make out of the first round with that water pistol arm, bye.

  5. Can one of our guys come up with ten sacks???

  6. I think the last time we had a guy with ten sacks is when Abraham did it in 05

  7. 10 years since our last championship game.

  8. Nine persons it seems we are all hoping (and in some cases depending on) to step up next year.

    1. Brett Ratliff. Maybe I’m misreading the tea leaves, but I sense that the majority of the TJB community wants him to end up our starting QB next year (not Favre and not KC).

    2. Vernon Gholston: If he can’t do it under Rex Ryan, then he is officially a bust. He is such a physical specimen, that if he has anything upstairs and in his heart, perhaps Rex and Pettine can get it out of him.

    3. Dustin Keller: Showed all-world potential. No reason this guy shouldn’t be a matchup nightmare next year.

    4. Clowney: DC showed big play potential, now lets see it in the regular season. Remember the Ravens offensive model: Run, run, run, run, deep bomb, run run, run.

    5. I like Chanci. His 3 TDs early and his knack for getting free on rubs and underneath stuff. I think he could have a long career as a slot reciever in this league. Obviously his and Clowney’s contributions next year will be dictated in part by whether Mr. T can rid himself of his own mistake (L Coles guaranteed contract).

    6. Leon Washington: Not a knock against him so much as the coaching staff. Just give him the damned ball!

    7. Dwight Lowery: He is a smart instinctive player who showed flashes in his rookie year. He also showed the lack of top end speed that caused him to drop to the 4th round in the draft. Whether its at corner (depending on our offseason) or at safety spot, if he can be a solid contributor to our secondary in year 2 that would be a huge boost.

    8. David Harris: Coming off a stellar rookie year, we all assumed we had a stud ILB for years to come. Due in part to weight gain, positional demands, and injuries, he was solid but did not have the stellar 2008 campaing many assumed he would. Can he return to form in 2009?

    9. Kerry Rhodes: A solid and sometimes spectacular contributor over the last 4 seasons. Under Rex’s tutelage can he become the elite safety we all thought he would be by now??

    10. BSchott: I save the most annoying for last. The combination of mind boggling play calling and the crap coming from his agent this offseason, my sense is that the TJB community has little to no patience for this guy. Was he handcuffed by Mangini, Favre, etc?? Or is he simply not the boy wonder we all thought after 2006?? If he can get his act together and guide a tough minded smart offense, that will go a long way in 2009.

  9. er, make that ten

  10. 10 – What do I do with the #10 Jersey hanging in my closet??

  11. Doug from Long Valley

You can hang it with my #16.

  12. A few days early on my #16 post, and no it’ s not a #16 Ken O’Brien rookie jersey either.

  13. You can start wearing it again two years after Chad retires.

  14. You can always mail it to Mike T. and Woody Johnson , so they can feel even worse about the Brett Favre Trade Triangle

  15. #10 as in pat ryan

  16. 10 more reasons we suck:
    1) Farve
    2) Farve int
    3) Farve arm
    4) Farve shoulder
    5) Farve thoughts
    6) Farve farve
    7) Farve tds to other teams
    8) Farve mom
    9) Farve packers
    10) Farve 4

  17. 10 playoff appearances in the since I became a fan (1972)

  18. Will Mike T. have the JETS cap under control but 2010????

  19. YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS.

liam: as far as i’m concerned i have no rooting interest in the starting QB, i find it non productive, i withhold judgement on Ratliff because i need to see more, pre-season speed is just so much lower than regular season speed, as far a KC, i think he can do better with good talent around him. (like every other QB in the league, hehe)

rememeber the backup QB is always the most popular guy.

didn’t some cheer when chad got hurt and KC came in, there was a reason.

So i’m rooting for Rex Ryan to pick the guy he trusts most and thinks will give him the opportunity to shake Barack Obama’s hand.

  20. 10-6 or better this year , how about that for a “10″. We have the personnel, now we have the coach. Go JETS!!!! And yes Mainge’s number at UT was 10 UGGHHH, he won’t go away.

  21. The original #10 for me was Pat Ryan…then Chad came along..

  22. 10 – as in two 10 sack players, a ten plus team interception count, a big WR to wear #10, and 10plus wins to make the playoffs.

  23. how about +10 in the +/- department.
