The First 100 Days: Day 16
Just like another administration’s first 100 days, so too TJB will be keeping watch over the Rex Ryan administration for the first 100 days … playing it by the numbers if you will. Each day, we’ll try to keep the associated day number in play.
Day Sixteen

Number 16 currently belongs to Brad Smith, who had a great game in the loss to Oakland and was solid on special teams all year. Unfortunately, his overall play, especially in the field of lateralling, was disappointing. Will he be back?
The most famous number 16 in Jets history was, of course, Vinny Testeverde, who led the Jets to 12-4 in 1998 and within 30 minutes of a Superbowl. He may have outstayed his welcome somewhat, but who will ever forget him breaking the plane with his helmet against the Seahawks, or getting off the couch to down the Bucs? Oh and the Monday Night Miracle.
Little known fact: Ken O’Brien wore 16 in his rookie season.
Sixteen can also stand for the number of opponents the Jets will face each season. A reminder of the opponents for 2009: Miami (twice), New England (twice), Buffalo (twice), Cincy, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Atlanta and Carolina at home and Indy, Houston, Oakland, NO and Tampa on the road.
Add your “sixteens” in the comments …
