Here’s a quick recap of what we covered on the blog yesterday for your posterity …
Brett Favre’s retirement broke via a series of emails with Ed Weder (“Ooh! ooh! me too!” shrieks Chris Mortensen) … and Chris Mortensen …
… to which there was a lot of reaction on ESPN and SNY [1, 2, 3] that we posted for you.
I gave my thoughts on what ripples it might send out for the Jets.
While I was on a con call with Kellen Clemens, KC related that Tannenbaum told him it would be an open competition this summer.
Culminating in Favre actually doing his paperwork, something he didn’t do very quickly last year to make it official.

I am willing to go out here.
Kellen Clemens reminds me of a young Kyle Boller. I would not like to see Clemens follow the same path.

I have a definite feeling that Mike Tannenbaum and not Rex Ryan cut David Barrett. His time and his contract was up.

I still believe that the QB of our future in on our roster. I feel great that Favre is done. It was a 1 yr deal and it backfired. Feel good going into this off-season and draft with our roster and new staff.
