According to The Jets Stream and ESPN, the deal for Bart Scott has been completed and he will be coming on over to New York. Cimini writes:
After several hours of high-stakes negotiations with the Jets and Ravens, coveted linebacker Bart Scott has agreed to sign with the Jets, according to a league source…
The Jets can stop sweating. The two sides agreed in principle late in the morning, but Scott’s agent rekindled talks with the Ravens, fueling speculation that Scott was going to jilt the Jets.

Well I guess we can all stop sweating…again. Scott is exactly the upgrade the Jets need for their defense, who brings his lessons from Ryan to teach the defense.
EDIT by Bent: Looks like he got an extra year: 6 years, 48m…clever bit of Bart-ering.

THANK YOU! Critical piece of rebuilding team in Rex’s image…..also would have been one of the all time worst days for a Jet fan if Scott and the guard from Pittsburgh both spurned us.l….
-
it was about time, I been here all day waiting for this
-
Middle of the Jets-D just got a meanstreak and got over a bad dose of Tight End swiss cheese. Is there a fire under Gholston’s butt in the workings…
-
so after 9 hours i can leave my computer…
okay now, where do we go from here
-
if I had a dollar for every time I refreshed TJB today waiting to read this news…. took way too long to get finalized, but that’s ok because now we’ve got a beastly set of ILBs

dan
he really leveled big ben nice video -
Good news.
…….and that picture clearly illustrates why Scott is a LB and not a WR. That ball definitely clanked off his facemask a split second after that was taken.
-
Wow .. Harris and Scott inside ..
NICE !!!!!

Well, this move is on Rex. He has no kick coming now. He got the guy he wanted to help lead the transformation of our defense to the style he wants to play. Overpaid. Sure.
But now we will know both Rex’ player assessment skills, teaching skills and scheming skills. Because he got the guy he wanted.
I would anticipate a similar effort to get Leonard and or Ivy.

love the move now lets move lowry to safety and go get another cb like bryant mcfadden get a backup nose tackle like gabe watson and come draft day go get either Hakeem nicks or Derrius Heyward Bey! now
-
According to Adam Shefter. Baltimore never raised their bid (to $42MM/5). That was strictly a ploy by Scott’s agent.

Harlan:
Good post

Where are these malcontents J, and lgs now? I’m sure they’ll find something to crtiisize.
-
ramble, they like to run their mouths and then hide when they have nothing to complain about. I dont mind the complaining and negative comments so much, but when your never giving any credit, your basically showing how bias and thickheaded you are.

In the NFL, the proven way to success is to build through the draft and supplement wisely through free agency and trades. Too many top-dollar free-agent moves end up being counterproductive because the whole never winds up being equal to — let alone greater than — the sum of its parts. Cohesiveness and chemistry generally seem to be victims of a team that’s over-active in free agency

jesus revis.
Just win baby, then I will cheer, all of this malcontent stuff is part of being a fan
