Rumor: Jets Pursuin’ Ivy

Another name to add to the mix – and another ex-Raven – is CB Corey Ivy, so says Adam Schefter

  1. Decent sub-package corner. Better than Coleman but Ivy is 31 =/

  2. baker just signed with the patriots gentlemen

  3. not a bad 3rd CB i guess.
But more importantly, he understands the system.

  4. I would rather have Ivy than the vertically challenged Leonard. IMO the Jets have a bigger need at corner than at Safety

  5. Orange,

Ivy is a corner and Leohnard is a safety. We may get both. And they are both cheap probably.

Ivy is only 5′9 Leonhard is 5′8

  6. We should sign Leigh Boden as our other starting CB.

  7. Boden is 6-1.

  8. I would not be suprised if Moore signed with the Pats or the Dolphins either….

  9. the patriots are so pathetic

  10. What’s really good with all these signings of former ravens? I understand rex is here and I was happier than anybody else…but c’mon scott is easy to understand but lewis, leonhard, ivy..? What are we the ny ravens….+r the baltimore jets?…there are other cost effective prospects out there you kno? And give me this garbage about being “familiar” with the system……everybody is going to be adapting wether its “systems” as well as new teammates…so I don’t really see the point

  11. We need to address RB:

    Ced Benson as 3red stringer?

  12. I wonder what Baker’s contract terms were. I am betting much less than the $4 million a year he wanted from JETS.

  13. Ced Benson ?? Go home ! We need to try and draft Brown from Uconn. Also, I agree I don’t think buying all the Ravens is going to be the best idea. However, all those guys are upgrades from what we have now. I just hope that we stick with Scott and try to sign Canty. We don’t have to have 2 stud corners if we have a great front.

  14. pete

go home? what r u 6 yrs old?

he had a good year last yr.

i do like the uconn kid, but he is a burner like lw

  15. when you have a great front, you don’t need STEADY corners, not necessarily STUD corners…

  16. True. We had NO PRESSURE ON QB’s last year!!!

We dont even need bank-breaker at corner. Once you get pressure on QB’s they make mistakes. Its simple. THe Patriots get all those INT’s with great blitzing.

If we get Ivy, McAlister, Bodden, or ver keep Lowery, it wont matter AS LONG AS WE GET PRESSURE ON QBS.

  17. Benson is an a hole forget about him well draft a late round rb TJ and Leon are still at the top of their games

  18. Ivy is quite possibly the worst cornerback to ever play the game. His numbers were atrocious when he had to fill in for Chris McAllister and Samarai Rolle in 2007, and when you factor in the success that other corners have had in that defensive system, he looks even worse.

There is no way you’d want this guy anywhere near a starting lineup.

  19. Worse than Justin Miller?

If he isn’t starter material, he should at least come cheap. Any chance he could contribute as a nickel back or even just as a special teamer?

Maybe Ryan has seen improvement in him since 2007? It can happen…I cite Chris Carr as my example. He went from looking completely lost whenever he played CB as a Raider to filling in fairly adequately with the Titans.
