We have to draft Nicks in round one, you can always find depth on the DL and OL in rounds 3rd through 7th. I totally agree that we need depth, but not with our first two rounds.

07'. Didn't see him last year but, come on 326 lbs. runs a 5.02 and can jump 35 inches.

Jeffdolini,

We need to depth, 3 young O lineman, no young D lineman! Look at the Giants, always adding line depth.

Running backs are a dime a dozen, the O line makes them more than they make themselves. I would build this team from the inside out, start in the trenches with studs, and the rest of the players look like studs!

Thanks for the clarification Bent, I really appreciate it, so other than a maybe two or three vets, we are done in free agency.

I agree completely about football players Cabras, just look at the highlights of the bowl game that Nicks played in this year, it doesn't matter whether you take him at 17 or at 26 the money is going to be very similar and not too expensive at all. The rookie pool money stays the same anyway.

Jeff - You are misinterpreting the cap data slightly.

For salaries you only need to take the top 51, so it's 108m, not 110m...but you also need to account for 6m of dead money.

Therefore they are 13m under before LBTE adjustment (my guess is 1-2m) and draft picks of about 4m.

I like Nicks, but he may be a reach at 17 and the idea of drafting RB and WR early doesn't attract me as much as getting someone who will be a solid contributor next year, which WR/RB may not because there are others ahead of them on the depth chart. Green is good too, but I think maybe we should wait until next year then draft a back to compliment Leon for years to come.
