First 100 Days: Day 46

billbairdJust like another administration’s first 100 days, so too TJB will be keeping watch over the Rex Ryan administration for the first 100 days … playing it by the numbers if you will. Each day, we’ll try to keep the associated day number in play.

Day Forty Six

Also Worn By — Bill Baird and Rich Sowells, both defensive backs in the 60s and 70s, respectively.

With the 46th pick — Emerson Boozer out of Eastern Maryland was the 46th pick in the ‘66 draft, as was Richard Caster out of Jackson State in ‘70

4.64 40 Time — That was Gholston’s unofficial time last year at the Combine.  The kid has speed, but as we all want to know, can he show that he’s hungry to feast on the flesh of NFL QBs?

Add your forty sixes in the comments …

  1. 4.6 hmmm didnt know that.. Why didnt he catch Cutler last year again?

  2. I’m thinking of a key formation Ryan’s new defensive scheme…. there’s this number associated with it, I can’t quite place — oh nvm, got it

  3. 46… hmmmm (???)

It’s like something is on the tip of my tongue…

yeah (Ben B), like you, I’ve got nothing BUDDY.

You would think RYAN would have DEVELOPED a better sense of direction for THE team by now; day-46… all we’ve done is shore up a couple key components to his DEFENSE… but have yet to anchor our o-line, quarterback, or running back depth.

  4. didn’t brett favre throw 46 INT’s last year? or did it just seem like it…

  5. Wow Browning Nagle insulting Brett Favre. Never thought I’d see the day. F U Coslet!!

  6. Hmmmm…forty six…I can’t think of anything…i must be drawing a Plank…

  7. Rex Ryan’s age?

  8. My Kellen Clemens “46″ is the 146 net yards passing in KC’s signature “win” against the Steelers (of course, in OT Leon had an awesome punt return of 33 yards that put the Jets in FG range and, after TJ got 6 tough yards (BTW, the Steelers game was TJ’s best game of 2007), Nugent booted a 38 yarder for the win). KC was unspectacular, really only had the initial flea flicker as a big play and failed twice with first and goal at the 5 or less in the second half (his delay of game penalty was a killer and he was helped by a James Harrison defensive hold or he would’ve turned the ball over in the 3rd quarter). IMO, after the first drive, KC did nothing to help the Jets win…but, a win is a win. Kudos to KC.

  9. Sack- let the kid go. He doesn’t walk around bashing you everyday. You’re doing it unprovoked now. He is how many years younger than you? He might be a bust, but damn. Wait until a KC supporter says something at least.

  10. JAGG, what happened to free speech? I think people look at KC’s “3 wins” and don’t look at what really happened. Against the Steelers, competent QB play might’ve made that game a blowout and I’ve seen people post here that KC is a “great redzone” QB. Well, he isn’t. So, get used to my KC 100; I’ve got 54 more.

  11. My bad. I didn’t know it was an ongoing theme. I think if he has “it” he will have his chance to show it. Steelers do have a decent defense though.

  12. Also worn by under achieving ‘cuse linebacker Jerry Mackey

  13. Billy Baird was the MAN back in the day…
If you think Revis was good, Billy B has I believe the most INT in franchise history: 34 within a 7 year span!

  14. Corners should never be judged on how many interceptions they get. Antonio Cromartie had a 10 int season, and experts will tell you he is horrible in coverage. Revis shuts down receivers every game, and rarely gets thrown at which hurts his int numbers. Revis is the best corner the jets have ever had without question.
