Just like another administration’s first 100 days, so too TJB will be keeping watch over the Rex Ryan administration for the first 100 days … playing it by the numbers if you will. Each day, we’ll try to keep the associated day number in play.

Day Fifty Two

That Denver Game — After the ’98 season, the Jets played Denver in the Championship game on 1/17/99. During the game the Jets had six turnovers and Testaverde went 31/52 for 356 yards 0TD and 2 INT. It wasn’t our finest moment …

With the 52nd pick — Al Woodall (1969 QB)

As Worn By – David Harris, Pepper Johnson, Jim Eliopolus, Mike Hennigan, John Schmidt & Mike Hudock

Add your “fifty twos” in the comments …

Yep. What can you bad about guys like Pepper Johnson…the beginning of Parcell’s era, to present day David Harris. If you have something you should be beaten down by a mob….then again, there’s always one outsider who likes to do that.

Love #52…..Harris was the real playmaker and run stopper of a great Michigan D that had Leon Hall, Gabe Watson, L Woodley etc….. Hope he can put the injuries to rest and dominate like he did after taking Vilma’s job.

B Scott and Harris should give us that ILB corp that teams are afraid of!!

Al Woodall! The name STILL sends shivers done my spine and visions of the apocolypse.

David Harris is a beast…..Him and B.Scott are gonna have opposing offenses shaking

We have the 52nd pick in this year’s draft.

hey AKA – During the 2008 preseason, I remember reading Harris had put on 20-30 pounds in prep for taking over the Mike role – my fear was that he would get hurt… no matter if these guys are pro athletes, full contact sports and 10-12% shifts in body weight over an offseason do not mix well together.

Am hoping – with the Mad LB now onboard that DH can slim down closer to the body weight he had in his rookie year… and we’ll see a healthier guy who can start giving us those awesome tackling displays and lateral pursuit again.

My Kellens Clemens “52″ is his 52% completions in the win over Kansas City in 2007. Clemens’ yards per attempt were a pathetic 4.6. Yes, the weather conditions were bad and Jared Allen was breathing down his neck all day. But, KC’s supporters always trumpet his “3 wins” as proof positive of his worth. This was against a 2-14 team, playing on the road for the last game of a terrible season and had every incentive to lose for draft pick position. KC “won” the game in OT with awful numbers. And, Brodie Croyle, who had similar issues with his offense, outplayed KC…let that sink in, Brodie Croyle outplayed KC (oh, I know that Brodie’s completion % and QB rating was worse, but his running game only picked up 53 yards, while the Jets rang up 195 yards…Croyle was the whole offense and the Chiefs nearly won…that counts for a lot in my book because he near “led” his team to victory, while KC’s primary purpose was to handoff and not make a mistake, giving the Jets a narrow victory). This “win” just didn’t instill me with any confidence.

Croyle got all his yards when we went to the prevent in the 4th. I don’t care what anyone thinks of KC, but Coryle was a joke in that and every other game.
