My Kellen Clemens "54" and "55" comes from his start against the Redskins in 2007, which was an OT loss. KC had a 5.38 YPA, which I'm rounding up to "5.4" and 54.8 completion %, which I'm rounding up to "5.5." The Redskins game was a good one for KC and the loss was not his fault by a longshot. Jericho had a crucial fumble deep in Skins territory and, in OT, a horrendous drop that would've extended a fine drive by KC and put the Jets near FG range. Not to mention the run defense was terrible in the second half. The Redskins defense was also pretty good and bottled up the running game, but KC ran well, gaining 48 yards on 7 carries. And, Coles was out. This game gave me hope, too bad the Cleveland game stole that hope away and the Kansas City game buried it.

I'm not gonna make a big deal about millionaires trying to make more money. Your point about Leon is why we need to keep TJ he gets the tough yards and leon is the guy who can score on any play. They are one of the better one two punches in the league, and with the way Rex wants to play we need two durable backs.

I definatly agree with you on getting Cutler but I'd rather do a three way trade and give up our first draft pick and maybe a conditional pick for 2010

tom,
he signed the contract...he cant complain about it afterwards.

i agree with you.
I like the fact you can do that in the nfl (mlb should learn but the union is too strong there).

its blown way out of proportion this whole led the afc in rushing.
he avg about 85 yards a game which is good not great.
he was like 6th in the nfl in rushing
the jets have an excellent OL for the running game (passing game is a question mark).
Leon had 3 carried over 50 yards while jones had just 1 and jones had 3 times the amount of carries.

Ronnie,
If TJ would of stunk it up for 2 years the jets would have just cut him. he has every right to ask for a new contract. Hes making 900k he led the afc in rushing. I would agree with your point if nfl contracts were guarenteed but you see players get cut all the time when they under perform there contract so why not ask for a raise when you deserve one.

all of the 9-7 teams rotate pick-order throughout the rounds.

We pick first in round one, then last in round two, then second to last (with the Favre comp pick, now in GB) etc. etc.

brian,
i believe the jets and a number of other teams finished the season at 9-7.
I think they cycle through the rounds.
We luckily pick 1st in the 1st round of all the 9-7 teams.

with that said, i have a proposal
3 team trade for cutler.

jets trade t.jones to arizona for matt leinart

jets trade leinart and a 2nd rounder to Denver for Jay Cutler
ARZ get a RB they desperately need (james wants out) and jones can split time with heitower
DEN- get a QB who knows the sytem + a 2nd rounder. Cassell was traded for a 2nd rounder and cassell was going to be traded straight up for cutler so they end up getting a QB and a 2nd rounder
NYJ - get a QB. Its easier replacing/finding a RB than it is a QB. jones entering the age for RB's + his value is very high (which is why he wants a new contract).
For this reason, i dont want jones back. He signed this deal 2 years ago. If he wouldve stunk it up the last 2 years, would he have given the jets some money back...obviously not, so just keep to the terms of the contract you signed.
