  1. Bassett:

Interesting to know if the Brett L. Favre Fourward Foundation received any grants from the NFL.

  2. JoJo Townsell is my sons track coach out here in NV.

  4. Meanwhile, Jay Cutler is back in play. Denver’s owner said he will now actively try to trade him.
So, hold on with all the speculation about that first round pick…

  7. Jets is close to landing jay cutler just a rumor take it for what’s it is worth

  8. Do you have a link to the rumor?

  9. Hoz dont play with my emotions. Where did you hear the rumor from?

  10. Woody wants a star QB on his team, this is going to happen faster than you think.

  11. The Jets don’t have the best of picks/players to offer, but I think we give a lot up and make sure we get him. Woody needs to sell his PSLs and needs a QB.

  12. Jimbo, I would not be surprised to see TJ and a 1st, or our 1st and 2nd, or 1st and 3rd. The only problem is Denver needs a QB, unless they draft one and play with Simms, or pick up Garcia.
For us, not having our 1st , TJ, or even 1st and 2nd will be a wash because we would have to sign Cutler to big $$

  13. I would trade 2 first rounders tonite and get it done

  14. I like your thinking Jesus, got to do this fast.

  15. Breaking News from Needell at NJ.com:

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen released a statment saying that the Broncos will trade Cutler….

    It’s getting interesting, fellas!

  16. I still don’t like Cutler. I think he’s way too much of a whiny little bitch. He’s good, but you need a team leader. I don’t know if he can be that.

Nonetheless, it’s a very interesting story and I’ve got ESPN on now.

  17. Plus, I think we’ll lose someone good on defense if we do that trade and I can’t think that’ll be worth it.

  18. I’m just nervous if we go deep into this….

we could get a great WR with #17 this year in heyward bey

next year is a deep QB class

ah, screw it- GO GET HIM…just make sure it’s okay with Hollywood

  19. Well, this is big news indeed. For the regulars on here, my thoughts on Cutler are not anything knew, so I’ll spare you the hating.

The only thing I will say is, as long as it is trade where we don’t throw 3 top picks to Denver, I’ll be fine with it. And if Rex sits Cutler down and makes sure they’re on the same page, then I’m more than ok with it. I’m also pretty sure that Mr. Scott will police that locker room with the tolerance of the KGB when it comes to mouthing off to his boy Rex and doing anything detrimental to the team.

I’m sure if Tanny makes a move, it’ll be the one that has the greatest benefit to our team. Regardless, the next few days should be interesting.

  20. I was going to post that the Broncos are going to trade Cutler but it seems like some others have beat me to it. I have kind of wained on him the last few weeks as I hear about his attitude problems but if we don’t give up a ridiculous amount for him I guess it’s worth a shot….

  21. Hollywood will deal with it, or maybe he wont have to because hell be playing next to brian dawkins. 2 first rounders tonite but they still wouldnt have a qb. KC, #17 pick, #52 pick and our 2nd next year still they wouldnt want KC i dont think itll be a deal we can just pull over night.

Lets hope that Mike T and Mangin are still on good terms.

    cimini with his usual banter

  23. One of the interesting stats from the ESPN article was that Cutler was 13-1 when the opposing offense was held to 21 or less points (including the Jets awful loss after the Titans game. Ugh). I think that stat more than anything shows he had a less than ideal situation in Denver regarding his W-L record. I think he ended up 3 games under .500 for his time there, but a better defense clearly would have benefited that team and maybe we’re not having this discussion. For comparison, we went 4-3 this year when holding the other team to under 20 points. However, I am curious what his stats are when his team is within two scores in the fourth quarter. Does he fold up and throw picks, or does he continue to produce and the Broncos defense really was that horrible? Regardless, much is being made of that W-L record when it appears the defense let that team down. A lot.

  24. for all the cutler haters out there who say he hasn’t produced a playoff team yet — read somewhere that in games where the crappy broncos defense held the team to just 21 points or less, Cutler’s teams are 13-1. he can’t do it alone. I agree with Jesus — send two #1s and Clemens and get it done.

  25. Guys, a 2nd rounder for Cassel AND Vrabel. Two number 1’s is too much for almost anyone, including Cutler.

  26. I think two #1s is a lot for Cutler, and I wouldn’t even really want a #1 and a #2. Maybe since the teams know the Broncos have to trade Cutler Denver will lose leverage and not be able to get a lot in return…

  27. Cutler is the truth. With a good defense he will be an elite QB. That 13-1 stat somewhat shows how bad his defense was. For all the Cutler haters, I guarantee they will all be eating their words if we do land this guy because he will prove his worth. Denver doesnt want Clemens, send them a package of draft picks and get it done. Jeff George was traded under similar circumstances for two 1sts and a 3rd. I understand the value of draft picks, but I also understand the importance of having a franchise QB.

  28. Cutler??? I mean this guy is a bigger diva than TO. The more I hear about this situation, the more I don’t want this QB on this Jets team. I mean come on??? This much fallout from a team attempting to trade you??? Absolutely ridiculous.

  29. lgs, your last post was pretty contradicting to a lot of things you have said regarding the Jets QB situation. I understand your feeling on cutlers attitute, but that doesnt take away from the prospect of the Jets landing an elite QB.

  30. JesusRevis,

without getting into a late-night debate…he is not elite. Elite won’t lead the league in int’s next season. And elite doesn’t have his qb rating drop in 3 strait seasons (since when is an elite qb’s highest qb rating his rookie season?) He has great potential, but he has yet to realize it. The Jets are an as close to an ideal situation as he will get traded to, with their strong defense and running game, so he could grow into that elite status you claim he already has, but he will have to play the system and if he gets out of line our season is f***ed.

  31. Brendan, his QB rating from his rookie season is irrelevant because he only played 5 games. We dont need to have a debate, my opinion is that he is an elite QB, you simply disagree, nothing wrong with that. When I say elite, I am referring to him being in an elite class of young franchise QB’s – Rivers, Big Ben, Cutler, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan

  32. Calling him an elite young QB is entirely warranted. Won’t argue that, but I’ll hold off all judgement until he actually gets traded, and if it’s to the jets I just hope it’s a reasonable price. No need to throw away 4 high picks when the Broncos are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

  33. Its hard to say the Broncos are “stuck” considering there should be anywhere between 5-10 teams interested in Cutler. The Broncos have a lot more leverage then people understand. When you have that many teams after your QB, youre going to get good value. It all comes down to whether or not the Jets are willing to give up what it takes, but consider two 1st round picks atleast.

  34. When a team admits they have no choice but trading a player, they don’t have that much leverage. They will get a good deal for Cutler, because of his skills, but I doubt teams will throw everything they got to the Broncos when they can’t keep him. Now all we have to do is play the waiting game, but I have faith Tanny will do his thing and will only make a trade if it doesn’t kill the future.

And I also pray we don’t trade Rhodes or Harris for him, but we’ll see.

  35. I love Harris, but out of all our young players (Revis, Washington, Harris, Rhodes) I would be most willing to part with DH.
