Two weeks ago, Peter King talked about how the Jay Cutler situation was so toxic there was no way for the Broncos not to trade Jay Cutler. Then last week the Broncos were so buoyed by Condi Rice’s speech at the owners meeting that they were going to take the long road. Now, they’re looking to trade Cutler … kudos, Peter.

- Yahoo! believes there are six teams in the mix.
- Tim Graham of ESPN believes the Jets would have to employ a third team.

- Quick reminder that some sources are concerned that Cutler’s drinking of alcohol might impinge on his dia-beet-us.

The Pats leaked there schedule according to PFT and we play them at their place week 3 and at home week 9. Pats have a bye week 8 so we get them coming off their bye.

i m just shocked that people actaully believe that the jets should not go after jay culter. i have 6 questions for these people. please, someone please enlighten me with some wisdom here
1. do you guys really beieve your hearing the full story out of denver.
2. have we seen any teammates rip him?
3. if your old boss got fired and the new guy fed you a line of crap and tried to fire you, essentailly lowering your value at work and costing you money, how would you react? how would you react if you had options like cutler does.
4. if jay cutler were coming out of the draft now, where would he be picked?
5. do you really want to start the year with kellen clemons? seroiusly?
6. are you guys that are against cutler, the same guys who told me on this board peenington was washed up?

I think the Jets may be better off if they involve Cleveland, otherwise they may have to give up more to get Cutler without the 3rd team.
Jets get Cutler
Broncos get Quinn and Jets 3rd round
Cleveland gets Kellen and Jets 1st roundIs this trade that unrealistic?

Ms
Cleveland gets to much in that deal

I think Denver has some sort of tentative deal in place (maybe with Mangini, or even Pioli) and they are now looking for the best offer. The announcement was just so sudden, and according to other reports, Cutler had just had his car shipped to Denver and was preparing to attend minicamp in mid-April.

For the Jets to get Cutler with no help from anyone, I think they are going to have to give Denver the 2009 1st round draft pick, and a either a late round 2010 draft pick, or a starting player.
However if we can get the Browns to assist, I believe the Jets will give the late round 2010 draft pick with KC to Cleveland, and a QB from Cleveland and our 2009 1st round draft pick to Denver.

Hard to believe Mangina would help us, but let’s figure out a way to involve Cleveland and swing Braylon Edwards as well. Seems like Mangina wants to clean house – let’s help him out !

I dont see why the Browns would involve themselves as a 3rd team for anyone. If they want to get rid of Quinn and the Broncos are willing to take Quinn and a 3rd, then why wouldnt the Browns just get Cutler for themselves instead of a #17 pick?

I would give a 1st and a 3rd in a second, Denver needs a QB, again “NY JETS, THE BEST OFFSEASON TEAM in THE NFL” at least from a headline standpoint!
