Oh man, can the draft please get here already? This is getting out of control………..
Yawn.
Grow back the mustache.
I think he shaved it just while playing the part of Mike Tannenbaum.
But you’re right, the mustache is where his power comes from.
not buttle’s finest hour, literally nothing he said made any sense. crabtree or britt??? a top 5 guy or a second rounder? and then he takes hayward-bey instead of his guy britt?? and for a de he suggests michael Johnson, who at 250-260 would play olb in 3-4??? the best though is when he says that he had clemens rated over cutler, really, please do tell the elaborate buttle qb rating system that employed in the 2006 draft!! you have to be kidding me
Assuming we still have the 17th pick if we dont trade it for Cutler I totally agree with Buttle.
I agree with Buttle- Brtt is comparable to Brandon Marshall.. NO Cutler for Jets.. Lets get a WR, RB, TE, DE, and DONT FORGET Free Safety.. I am not sold on 5-8 Leonhard or slow Kerry Rhodes..
BRITT WILL BE A STUD but he wont fall to us with our second round pick i like him more then heyward-bey but i do like bey….I wouldn’t mind taking a Tyson Jackson etc or trading down but if we dont take a wideout in the first round I think we may need to try and move up a bit in the second to take britt
He rated Clemens over Cutler? He likes Michael Johnson? Mark it down that the Jets won’t get DHB.
Is it me or does Buttle never make sense? I don’t think i’ve ever heard him say something that made me think, “this guy has a good point…” Whether it’s SNY, 1050, or ESPN…
Buttle never makes any real sense…he gets some sounds bites and throws them around. Scary part is, his ranking Clemens ahead od Cutler sure didn’t prove itself, did it? He knows no more about the draft, if not less, as we all do.
I AM NOT saying that Clemens is better than Cutler, but there were many analysts who ranked him ahead of Cutler. Again, I do not agree with this, just saying…
Yes Brendan, Jaws rated him higher (or was it Mortensen) as well during that draft.
I’m sure all the NFL scouts on thejetsblog are much smarter than people that have actually played football.
Clearly your arrogance and condescension makes you smarter than most.
Arrogance and condescension? Are you kidding me? I was just saying that he isn’t the only guy who made that claim. Chill out big guy.
I was on your side Brendan which is why I brought up support for your argument.
I didn’t know Greg Buttle was so smart.
Ok, lets get the WR (I like Britt) and have Clemens be our QB, good.
NO CRYBABIES ALLOWED!!!
Oh, the way you worded that last statement made it seem like you were directing it at me. My mistake.
I’ve tried to post links to ESPN insider a couple of times but if you go to Ron Jaworski’s page there is an article titled:
“Ron Jaworski thinks Kellen Clemens has what it takes to be the starting quarterback for the Jets…”
It is from Feb of this year
doesn’t buttle deserve credit for reminding us of his projection that kellen would be better than cutler???
esp. in the season of march madness, most sports pundits like to have it both ways and flip-flop constantly.
a free mustache ride for ol’ #51 for sticking to his guns!
Ummm, he also has the Saints taking Chris Wells. Don’t they already have eggie Bush and Pierre Thomas. I can think of bigger needs for the Saints. The lesson, don’t listen to a thing this guy says.
ilan i don’t think those are all his picks.
He just played GM for the Jets not all the other teams.
Everyone knows Buttle doesn’t wear socks…right? True.
No Socks……Ever!!!!
Ilan,
Those are not all Buttle’s picks. ESPN First Take has a different local sportswriter in each day to make a pick for a particular team. I know because I watch it every day. The Saints pick was made by a Saints beat writer.
Never! At least he didn’t a few years back. I interviewed him once and he came dressed in a nice suite, nice shoes, no socks. And from what I understand from others, he never weres socks. Strange.
