Jets Sign Mike Kracalik

by Bassett on April 20th, 2009 at 9:16 pm

The Jets have re-signed a player that the team the team had looked at way back in 2005, and since landed with the Ravens.

Mike Kracalik is 6’8″ 337 pounds played collegiately at San Diego State. During his time in Baltimore he played in four games.

Not exactly a front line starter, the team is looking for depth at tackle, and a 6-8 guy is likely just that. Kracalik can provide depth for the team. If the Ravens saw real potential as a front line player, he wouldn’t likely be available for the Jets at this point of the season.

“Do you find something comical about my appearance when I’m driving my automobiiiiile?”

This guy is a monster I hope he could become a servicable backup

I come for the Jets commentary. But I stay for the Simpsons and South Park references.

  4. avatar pkpiazza says:

is this guy a OT or DT?

  5. avatar Harvlis says:

    pk,

    Whatever he wants to be.

  6. avatar pkpiazza says:

lol, maybe we dont have to go Oline in draft now and can just focus on WR RB TE and DE/DT and then in rd 8 we can go O line depth

  7. avatar igs says:

hmmmm, this might be a little too much depth. Jinx is starting, pouha and Green are backups, and they’re talking about drafting a guy. NT is is one guy at a time. I gues they will do some 4-3 stuff.

  8. avatar TOON2388 says:

Vegas futures line is Texans by 3.5 opening day. I may like this even more tha I did the 2.5 we were favored by last year at this time against Miami

  9. avatar pkpiazza says:

    igs

    he’s OT not DT

  10. avatar igs says:

aaaah, he’s OT, Thanks PK, well i still hope they do some 4-3 stuff. I don’t know this guy but if he’s a young guy that can develop and contribute some right away, it’s a great move. Giv the Jets more flexibility on draft day.

  11. avatar Dylan says:

    lgs,
lol I immediately assumed he was an DT at first since all we’ve done since Ryan took over is sign defensive guys.

  12. avatar Hoz The Jet says:

    Bassett

    How old is this guy?

  13. avatar igs says:

holt signed with the jags dylan…

  14. avatar Dylan says:

    lgs,
Yeah I heard. There was also a report earlier today that the Jets weren’t going to sign Matt Jones because Rex didn’t like him as a player. I don’t think the Jets are going to get Edwards or Boldin since they don’t wanna pay that kind of money, so I guess its down to the draft. Do we both agree that they should sign Britt?

  15. avatar igs says:

i wouldn’t mind. As long as Sanchez doesn’t fall. If not Britt, I hope Mirsky, Robiskie, or Turner or Barden. Where did you read the report about Jones?

  16. avatar igs says:

    *I meant Murphy.

  17. avatar Dylan says:

Yeah besides Britt I don’t really like any of the 1st round receivers who would be available. I would like most of those guys in the 2nd or 3rd round. I think Robinskie will be a good receiver but his game is very similar to Cotchery. I would love Barden in the 3rd round. Lets just hope we don’t reach for a guy like DHB or Nicks. Anyway heres the link. I’m not sure its accurate as this is the only place I’ve read it, but I guess we will find out soon enough anyway.

    lgs,
Haha I know its really nice for once!
Too bad Mike T ignored all of our ideas.
Someone should send him a link to this blog.

  20. avatar igs says:

lol, yeah, secretly in my fantasies Mr. T reads this blog and gets all his ideas from here.

  21. avatar Dylan says:

lol, if the Jets sign any of the 300 hundred receivers we have mentioned in the past couple weeks, we will know that he does.

  22. avatar fonzie says:

    Draft Jarron Gilbert.

  23. avatar Brandon from Illinois says:

I like to see depth moves. I hope the Jets keep it up.

  24. avatar Brett Justin says:

Anyone think KAREEM BROWN will become a servicable blocking tight end?? im hoping he does just cause itll save us a draft pick for another need ; )))

  25. avatar JetOrange says:

I like this pick up. First , Ryan knows the guy, indicates , a little smashmouth at RT. When your 6’8 340, it takes time to learn technique, he has survived for four years, maybe he is able to put it together here with the Jets.

  26. avatar Jane McManus says:

Kracalik was originally drafted in 05 and FYI has the same agent as Bart Scott. He was getting certified as a restaurant inspector in Baltimore when he got the call, good story.

  27. avatar yes you look comical in you autttooomobile says:

my question is can this 6’8 guy catch at all?
