Jets 2009 Draft Picks
Posted on April 22nd, 2009 by Bassett
Just a reminder on the picks that the Jets have six picks over the seven rounds in the draft this weekend:
1st: 17th
2nd: 52nd
3rd: 76th (New Orleans – Jonathan Vilma trade)
4th: 115th (Redskins – Pete Kendall trade)
6th: 193rd
7th: 228th

i hate to say this but we need to trade that 17th pick and pick up some extra one’s we have a lot of needs and only have 6 picks.
Vilma was only worth a #76!! terrible trade by Mike T
Will there be a Draft challenge this year?
Yes, Mole.
I think the Jets have a 4th round pick — received from Washington for Kendall. Jets traded Kendall for a 5th round pick, which escalated to a 4th round pick if Kendall played in 80% of the offensive snaps — which he did.
Heres my prediction….. since the draft challenge was brought up:
Jets trade back from #17 to lets say #26 picking up an additional 3rd rounder
At #26 we draft Kenny Britt
We then (and I hate if this happens but I think they love Freeman) we trade back into the bottom of the 1st or top of the second givng up that additional 3rd to draft Josh Freeman. If Tampa doestn take him @ 19 he will fall.
Meaning we have Britt, Freeman and #76 still left. We then go RB, DL/OL, TE
Mr T loves to trade up and has done so alot in his first 3 drafts
I assume WR Percy Harvin will fall due to him testing positive for the green leafy substance at the NFL combine…maybe Harvin and Ellis can roll a fatty together? Geez, how dumb can you be? That’s going to cost him a few coins in his pocket!
Drew-here’s the problem with your proposed trade: It screws the Jets. Our 17 is worth 950 points. 26th is owned by the Ravens and has a value of 700. Their #3 (88) is worth 150, leaving the deal 100 points shy of parity. Add in their 4 & 5 (77 pts) and we’re getting closer
I forgot to add that we would be getting the ravens 5th giving us a the 5th we lost from the Lito trade….
Thanks iggy
