The Jets select Mark Sanchez.
Although I think that many Jets fans might start to come around on the Sanchez pick, it was clear that the base here in Radio City was split … well … they always are split.
From reading some draftniks, here are some quotes on Sanchez:
“Sanchez is a high risk signal caller because of his lack of experience. He has a great pedigree though, and should be able to assimilate the Jets deep passing attack quickly.” — New Era Scouting
“Sanchez did a tremendous job as a junior, his first year under center full-time for USC. He’s a cerebral quarterback with great intangibles, and he possesses the ability to lead an offense on the NFL level. Sanchez will be best in a timing offense that plays to his strengths of accuracy and timing in the underneath coverage.” — TFYDraft.com

You know Sanchez has the potential to be a type of a Big Ben type of QB, not in playing style, cuz Ben is all over the place when he’s under center, but what did the Steelers have when they went 15-1, a great D, a good core of RB and a good O-line, oh and the only good WR they had was Hines, the rest were like our guys aside from Cotch who can play probably better then Hines
This guy mastered his system in 1 year, so which means he is a fast learner, and from what I here this guy played in a system similar to ours, so not much learning to do
And let’s not forget Ryan came from a team that won with Flaco, a rookie, and Sanchez is way better than Flaco
And it seems like D-Brick gets better every year so expect a Probowl type of season out of him, same goes for LW, and TJ might be upset be you can tell the guy isn’t one to holdout and not attend mandatory camps

I love the pick, though that quote form New Era makes me smile, of course he’ll be able to assimilate our deep passing attack quickly, it’s not hard seeing as we don’t have one!

Here’s what Mark Sanchez needs to know about being a NY Jet:
1) We hate Buffalo
2) We really hate Miami
3) We really, really hate New England -

I am happy they got Sanchez, but at the price it costed Im not sure if that was the best move. They dont have a solid receiving core, a d-line which can get to the qb(unless Ryan does something Mangini didnt do) or a blocking TE. Are they turning Keller into a Receiver exclusively? Also, are they planning to give the 2nd receiver spot to stuckey, smith or clowney? None have the size or hands needed to start in the NFL.

This guy Sanchez has the potential to last longtime and I see him in simular mold of “Favre”!

love it or hate it, the jets got their men.
They spent days trying to get up in the draft to get sanchez and they spent time last night to target the RB they wanted.
