I am not seeing the Michael Gaines link. Michael Gaines is a Free Agent TE cut recently by the Lions, he is 6’4 277lbs and a six year veteran Blocking TE. It has been reported that he worked out for the Jets on Wednesday, scheduled for the Bears on Thursday.
Michael is a better blocker than Baker, and could be a great fit for an all weather offense. Gaines had 23 catches last year, which means he is not an offensive weapon, but could be a veteran security blanket for a young QB -

Along with his 23 catches, Gaines also had three fumbles last year. Not a good catch-to-fumble ratio. But if he can block, that’s all we really need in the short-term. -

I don’t think the Jets would even consider signing Kendell, but they worked out a guy yesterday that they might sign. Charles Spencer a 6’4 334 lb OG/OT was drafted in the third round (65) by the Houston Texans, broke his leg in 2006 and was IR 2007, he was picked up by Jacksonville in 2008 they cut him at the end of the year..The guy has played in two games in three years, conditioning is the key for this guy. The jets may be interested in resurecting this guys career, because they were looking for a road grading guard in Free Agency (Kemo???? of Pittsburgh), he’s cheap, and his draft status may indicate that there is a little talent there… -

Those three fumbles were all critical, and in part was one of the reasons he got cut, the other is the Lions drafted Pettigrew in the first round -

wow that article of Favre by Terence Moore was one of the dumbest articles ive ever read. He just decided that a 40 year old QB who ended last season with a 2-9 int ratio and a 1-4 record is better than David Garrard, both Browns QB’s Marc Bulger (possibly), Matt Schaub, Jason Cambell, Mark Sanchez, Kerry Collins, Vince YOung, MATT HASSELBACK, and the dumbest of all, Aaron Rogers.
This idiot also says Favre sucked at the end of the season becuase he never even wanted to go to New York. Then how did we start off 8-3 and Favre had that huge smile on his face?
Jesus christ, Both Favre and Moore should just retire.

One other thing. Many posters will state whether it is a RB, WR or TE that “they are a dime a dozen”. Sometimes I think thats crazy, but if they do sign Gaines it demonstrates that there is an element of truth , and that patiance ( which I have none ) is a virtue.
IMO Gaines is a great fit for what Rex wants to do…
Maybe the Jets will sign Kendall? Nah.
