Play Aaron Glenn Off, Keyboard Cat!
One of the best/stupidest meme’s of late on the Internet has to be the Keyboard Cat, sweeping the nation with uncomfortable moments and a cute cuddly cat who helps folks out with a little musical interlude to distract from their very embarrassing, oft uncomfortable moments.
For example ..
Now I’m not one to often slog through the muddy misery of the past as Jets fan, but in honor of K.C., here’s some solid “Keyboard Cat” moments for the Jets, add your Keyboard Cat moments in the comments.
Marino Fake Spike Play
The Heidi Bowl
AJ Duhe picking off Todd and returning an interception for a TD
Bill Belichick’s announcement/resignation as the HC of the NYJ
Testaverde’s Achilles tendon tear
Doug Brien doinking FG in PIT 2004 Postseason
Announcement of Rich Kotite as Head Coach
Brett Favre’s uninspiring huddle speech Week 17
Boom (clap clap) boom … boom (clap clap) boom … duh duh di duh do duh di duh …

Those are all good ones Bassett by my personal worst was the Eric Allen ridiculous return for a TD to beat the Jets in dramatic fashion in 1993.
Not only were we winning 30-28 with time running out in the 4th but they had already lost Cunningham and I believe Fred Barnett to leg injuries….plus were up big in the 1st half.
I was a horrified teenager watching Allen zig-zag 94 yards to put a dagger in my heart. The worst part of all is I was in the endzone that he was running towards and when he scored ……..Cunningham just happened to be in the tunnel on crutches and Allen gave him the ball.
Just an ef-ing nightmare!!!!!!
I think that one play of the year only to go nicely with Marino’s fake spike the following year…Back to back years of top plays against our Gang Green
Well done….Boomer!!!
These three fine playoff moments:
- Gastineau roughing Kosar on 4th down
- Keith Byars fumble vs. Denver
- Bruce Harper fumble returned for TD on opening kickoff vs. Buffalo
Wait a minute- I’m pretty sure AJ Duhe made me cry by intercepting Richard Todd about a hundred times in the afc championship, not O’Brien, right?
I was just a kid then but I saw the game replayed a few times and I thought Gastineau got a raw deal ….. and was not the only guy who hit Kosar on that play…. Not saying he wasnt to blame but wasnt there another player hitting Kosar late also?? D Ray maybe??

The Byars fumble was a bad one. Good call!! WOW that one stung again just now.
The Gastineau roughing was actually on 2nd down and 24, not 4th down. (I guess I was confusing that with the Eric Barton roughing call against S.D.)
Since the fake spike was already mentioned,
Doug Brien’s missed FG at Pittsburgh in the 04 playoffs after herm moved the offense backwards.
WIth pretty much the season on the line in seattle 2008, Jets down by a TD, 3rd and one on their own 17, pass deep. Manginius!
1996… the entire year.. 1995 too
what makes eric allen’s return even more painful, is that rich kotite was philly’s head coach.
the option pass that was intercepted in the end zone against detroit which caused us to miss the playoffs in 97 was another great jet moment. great call tuna.
Don’t forget the MNF game (1992?) when late in the 4th qtr. with us winning the game Steve McMichael stripped Blair Thomas of the ball and Chicago recovered and the marched down the field for the win.
Jets select Mark Sanchez QB USC…
Boom (clap clap) boom … boom (clap clap) boom … duh duh di duh do duh di duh …
Nice photo shoot, pretty boy, why not wait until you throw a TD before you act like you are hot stuff.
my moniker says it all…Thanks Sam Mills, you freakin &@$#!!
Bitter? I’m not bitter! Who said I was bitter, dammit!?
(…Oh Great Googily Moogily….)
Worst moment as a Jet fan was being at the Dennis Byrd game on a cold day in november. Honarable mention Herms clock management in the Pitt game, and that same year against the Ravens up 14-0 and hacket calls for a option pass. I know it was a regular season game but WTF was he thinking with that call with Ed Reed in the endzone.
The biggest hurt was botched field goal vs pitts on jan 15th…while we’re talking playoffs tho..
Screen pass from chad to leon which was ruled a fumble/returned for a td by the pats in the playoffs…def the turning point in the game
Tom Tupa Throwing the ball into the hands of the defender for an instant game-losing OT loss.
GAME OVER, WHAT DO I WIN?
