I’m watching the Ravens/Steelers playoff game. It’s amazing how the ravens have this great defense and awesome runnign game, but their receivers just can’t uncover, especially in the press. Can you say glass ceiling?

Kerry needs to really check the people he’s got in his circle.

Let us be clear: Dog fighting isn’t just a violent sport. It creates a nightmare of gore that sickens the body and soul of any decent person unlucky enough to witness it. That’s what Vick’s participation made possible, an arena where dogs died in agony as their life gushed from open arteries, bones broke beneath crushing jaws, ruined eyes hung dangling from their sockets and broken intestines spilled from slashed abdomens.

I’m disturbed and disgusted by the number of people that think we should give Vick a second chance. Previously, Vick was showered with fame, celebrity and boatloads of cash — and responded by financing a blood sport in which dogs were routinely killed or maimed, where the life of man’s best friend was turned into a horror of rage and fear and pain, where dogs were ritually tormented into becoming killers of their own kind.

Dogfighting is also a deathmatch, as most of the dogs either don’t make it out of the arena or are put down immediately thereafter. Those who could enjoy or enact such depravity are one short step away from demonstrating sociopathy against human beings.

Remember, Pete Rose is banned from baseball for life because he isn’t sorry enough for gambling on his sport. Are we now going to give Vick, a purveyor of depraved violence, a chance to get back into a position of wealth, prestige and fame? Maybe Rose really doesn’t feel enough remorse to forgive him for his gambling, but there isn’t enough remorse in the world for Vick.

Vick doesn’t deserve a second shot, either in the NFL or outside of it. To support a second chance for Vick is to support raising a convict back to the status of sports icon. There was a time when people had more integrity than to let such a piece of filth into a position of privilege and respect.
