Jets Awarded TE Martrez Milner Off Waivers
The Jets were awarded TE Martrez Milner (Gainesville, GA) off waivers from the Giants and have waived two players; OL Kyle Link & TE Rob Myers as well.
Milner (6-4/260/Georgia/Gainesville, GA) originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (133rd overall) by the Falcons in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played one season with the Falcons (2007) and recorded nine receptions for 50 yards in eight games, starting two. In 2008, he was inactive for Atlanta’s first two games before he was waived, Sept. 16. Milner signed with the Giants practice squad, Sept. 23, and was with the Giants until he was waived May 21, 2009.

Hes obviously got a good shot at making the roster, that third TE is completely up for grabs. Dunno how much of an impact he can make
That just put us over the top.
Who came up with that name?
When he was with the falcons, he was a good special teams blocker. But not much else…
never heard of this guy is he a good blocking tight end??
Superbowl !
Championship!! (a la ESPN Fantasy commercial)
Is He That Good?
awarded? whoever said the jets are cursed must explain this.
I wondered about the “awarded” as well. I would have used “picked-up”. I guess I’m not about big, flashy words. I like meat and potatoes and nice, non-confusing-type reading material stuffs!
I know from the headlines and some people’s possible sarcastic reactions I thought we picked up Antonio Gates or Jeremy Shockey.
Here just for a tryout.
Unless this guy has somehow managed to learn how to block and catch passes in his short stint on the Giant’s practice squad, he will be probably be gone soon.
For Atlanta, a wasted 4th round draft pick.
Cham…pee…YON…ship !
He’s not a bad blocker, but the most interesting thing about his is that he has a tendency to drop really easy passes and make impossible catches*. He would have therefore worked well alongside Favre, but I fear that Clemens or Sanchez will be too accurate for him.
* I bet there’s a youtube clip or two that will make you think “this guy looks amazing”…just remember though, he’ll drop the pass right in his numbers.
where the hell is jason pociask…… he was a blocker and we need him some kinda bad……. pick him up
whats all this championship talk? we r no where near a super bowl team, were barely a playoff team. By adding a no name TE who was cut makes any difference? Geez, i see why giants fans hate us, we think were so good when we have a rookie QB who cant complete a pass in practice, no WRs who are capable of being a top WR, a running game that 2 guys were holding out, and an offensive line with no depth. our DEF might look good but with our schedule, i doubt we make it past the first round of the playoffs
Jay, I think everyone was being sarcastic.
There was a giant neon SARCASM sign!
It was flashing.
Nearly blinded me.
Since when did getting a no name nobody become an award.
Relax Jay…it was totally dripping in sarcasm.
CLEANUP… ON COMMENT SEVEN !!
:-)
I gotta pile on… thanks for the laughs, Jay!
By the way, BubbyBrister/shovelpass keep up the witticism. I’ve chuckled at more than a few of your observations – and, no. I’m not being sarcastic!
Jetsfan, Posciak is in Tampa and I agree would be the perfect solution for a 3rd maybe even 2nd TE. He already knows the system.
