To say the response was overwhelming would be an understatement.
After putting a feeler out to gauge the interest of TJB readers for some Madden 2010 fun, I’ve tallied 57 people interested in playing on the 360 and 33 people for PS3. Within those totals, there were eight who can play on either system.
DSmizzle and Kixworld, you were both correct.
Assuming all the people who posted remain interested, and even more readers express interest between now and August, then a league would be nearly impossible to orchestrate. I don’t want anyone to be left out because the numbers don’t add up, so tournaments are likely the best way to go.
But that’s not my only concern.
I’ve tried to participate in leagues/tournaments over the last few years and most of them end after a couple weeks. Either there’s someone who is head & shoulders better than everyone else, or personal issues keep us away from our consoles.
Whatever the reason, the excitement ultimately dwindles down to nothing and we end up playing random games against geeks who glitch.
I don’t want that to happen here.
Assuming we all still own Madden 2009, the plan is to put together tournaments to establish some kind of seeding before Madden 2010. The purpose is to develop an understanding of where to place people so the games are fun and competitive.
It also gives us all a chance to warm back up before 2010 hits the streets. We’ll figure out the “But I want to play with the Jets!” dilemma later.
360 users, send me a friend request and let me know you’re from TJB so I can get to work on putting a tournament together.
PS3 users, my PSN is AmenBk—but I’m going to need help organizing the early tournaments there since I no longer have 2009. Volunteers?

I have ps3 but prefer the ps2 madden gm better gaming online

Why not pick league captians and have several leagues? Then the winner of each league would go into a bracket until TJB champ is crowned?
-
Maybe we could also have a side-link to TJB with all-time standings, won-loss, etc.? Nothing crazy just win-loss records and such.

I’m in – PS3 under dalton_voss (I posted this on the first post as well, wanted to make sure I didn’t miss the boat). I’m stoked – I hate playing all those cheap glitch players online.
Only problem I foresee is there’ll be a lot of Jets @ Jets games!

I think 57 is a good number to have if we’re going to fill all 32 teams. Like you said Angel there’s going to definitely be those who are excited for it now and won’t be in a week. If we can find 32 DEDICATED players out of those 57, I would be impressed.
I would support a draft, though if we’re just doing a 1 and done tournament now I would take a lesser team just to not have to go through the hassle of a long draft.

how about us ps2 users. No glitches and bs in ps2 just dc glitch but thats in all da gms
