Rex Goes Guns-A-Blazin’ At Channing Crowder

Check out the REAL news from Bobby G. about Rexy’s response to Dolphins bigmouth Channing Crowder.
Rex Ryan brought the Crowder comments up before anyone asked.
“I don’t know this Channing Crowder,” Ryan said. “All I know is that he’s all tatted up. He’s right about one thing. I’m a first-time head coach, but I’ve been around the game all my life. I’m no different than I’ver ever been, just that more people are listening.”
Ryan’s take on Crowder saying you don’t win in June?
“I think he’s wrong,” Ryan said. “You do win in June. You win with your preparation. If [I] was younger, I’d handle him myself. He’s a good player and all that kind of stuff and it is fun to ruffle some feathers. I’ve got no problem doing that. I’m confident in our football team. I’m confident in myself, the players, the coaches and the entire organization. That’s why I say the things I say. I make no apologies for any of those types of things.”
More Rex:
“I know one thing. Our football team is going to be prepared and we’re’ going to play our tails off and we’re going to give everything we got. If people have trouble with it, live with it, because it’s gonna happen.”
Rex is your fire with fire kind of guy and he said so in his introductory press conference saying “if you take a swipe at one of ours, we’ll take a swipe at two of yours.”

My brain tells me that what Rex is saying probably isn’t all that smart, but my heart keeps saying “this is what I’ve wanted to hear since Walt Michaels was unjustly fired by Mr. Hess.” Finally, I feel that this coach might actually reflect the fan base. We’re all angry that the Jets are disrespected by the NFL (no Klecko, Powell or Hill in the HOF; hardly any national games; last year’s ridiculous West Coast schedule, etc.) and that the Jets haven’t been able to get over the hump to being a consistent winner and Super Bowl champion since 1969. I agree that Rex has to cash the check that his mouth is writing. But, if he does, I really get the feeling that we’ll have the first “fan’s coach” since Walt Michaels. I kept on writing during the Mangini era that the Jets had no identity. But, if the Jets are going to be a team that will punish the opposition by kicking ass and taking names (and, you, Mr. Crowder, are at the top of the list), then Rex will be great.
I think this has been amusing for the fans — if I remember about Crowder, it turned out he was joking about the London comments and the writers didn’t quite get the joke here.
I think if you read the entire transcript of the presser — Ryan is well aware of who Crowder is and is just having some fun here. And football is supposed to be about having some fun, right?
I cannot wait until the Dolphins blow you guys out of the water for the 2nd straight game, and ultimately sweep you guys this year. Crowder will pulverize your Dirty Sanchez until he wants to quit, and Tony Sparano will show you guys what being prepared really looks like, oh wait, he already did in the last game of last season. That was great seeing the Dolphins celebrate on YOUR home turf., I should know, I was there to see the fun.
Ryan, is a man on a mission. What Rex is trying to do is change the mentality with the Jets. He is not going slow and promising that in a few years, things will change. But rather throw this team right into the fire. Baptism by fire, so to speak. He will have to deal with these teams right off the bat in the beginning of the season. I love all the talk. If you read into what is happening, Rex is talking not the JETS players and on the opposite side the players are talking and if you ask me, they are already distracted from the task at hand. Let those opposing players keep talking. The JETS are coming!!!

Dolph341, ok, you won 1 game. Please take a look at the record. The Jets have dominated the phins. None of us know what this season will bring, but the 2009 Dolphins remind me alot of the 2007 Jets. Coming off a surprise playoff season, with Chad P at QB, and against a very weak schedule. I believe the Jets went 5-11 that season.

It was not just one game Pete57, it was the biggest game of the year, the game for the AFC East crown, and the Dolphins answered the call, and you guys choked like you always do in the biggest games of the year, I cannot wait until we unleash the new and improved WildPat on you guys, and your sorry excuse of a defense.

And it took our worst game of the year and your best. What a joke.. learn a thing about the jets-dolphins rivalry and u would keep your mouth shut until your team wins a few more games, because the jets have embarrassed them in the last decade. Expect a repeat of the 2007-08 season for the dolphins, where they will get 1 or 2 wins.

The last game was totally meaningless for the Jets. Beating Miami would not have put us in. We would have still been left out and the Pats would have gone to the playoffs instead of the Dolphins….

Pats09- The Dolphin’s fan came to our blog. Of the last 3 seasons we are a 20% of the Pats losses. I think the Pats will take the division. If we go 2-14 I bet both those wins will be against the Dolphins. Watching them last year I wasn’t impressed.

Fireman Ed here, You know what it is utterly humiliating that our beloved Jets have only won the AFC east 2 times compared to the 17 times the Dolphins have worn the crown.

Yeah, the Dolphins were great with Shula, and the Jets sucked before Parcells changed the course of the franchise. Since 1997, it’s 2-2 in AFC East championships.
JustaGreenGuy: How can you not be impressed with what the Dolphins did last year? They had basically the same record as the Jets did. Oh, and of the 3 seasons, the Dolphins are an averaged total of 22.5 % of the Pats losses. Until you guys win a crown this decade with Ryan, you guys have nothing to say to us. You may have dominated us this decade, but remember, the Dolphins fielded some pretty bad teams this decade, thus beating us is nothing to brag about. Oh, and your record against us is only 12-5, which is not what you guys claim is 9-1 or whatever. The record should be 11-6 but, you guys picked up Favre this year, so you get his luck too. The week 1 game should have gone to us. I agree with Fireman Ed, I would be ashamed if I were him too, the Jets are just pathetic. They will always be a mediocre team, and will never win another Super Bowl as long as the Miami Dolphins are around.
If we don’t pick up Favre I’m confident we would have beat you both times. I didn’t agree with the Favre move and really hate the guy. What I saw from the Dolphins last year was a team that did bare minimum to win and give them all the credit in the world for what they have done, but I fear no one on your team. Josh Mccown isn’t Chad and wouldn’t have done the same things for your team.
We won the division in 2002 btw, which according to elementary school math is in this decade.
Last year was a mad dash for the division after Brady went down. The Jets looked at it as a sprint and blew it at the end. The Pats are better with Brady and I have more faith in a Favreless Jets than I did last year. Finally, I know Chad Pennington. I love the guy to death, but there is a good reason he was comeback player in 06 and 08. He can’t keep it together.
1.5 sacks in 58 games. Crowder doesn’t scare anyone, least of all opposing QB’s.
How can you have more faith in a rookie quarterback who has NO receivers, than a guy who is a living legend? As far as the Jets winning in 02, no one is debating that, you are just getting yourself way to riled up, and peeing your pants a little bit too much of the Dolphins new found excellence. By the way, ask some Pats fans how the best way to clean out that stain in your pants, they should know since they did the same thing last year when Brady went down. Good luck with that. Some advice, don’t take everything you hear to heart, you will just end up getting over anxious, and overly excited. Haha you guys will need that everytime you face the Dolphins this year.

Kris Jenkins!!!!! You should not be talking about our nose tackle when your own is even older than ours!!! Here is a list of players that are out of there prime, and are getting up there in age. Bryan Thomas, Larry Izzo, Shaun Ellis, and on the offensive side is Alan Faneca, Damien Woody, Tony Richardson, and Bubba Franks. Talk about an old team. By the time that Dirty Sanchez starts to produce, your line will be too old to block, and Thomas Jones will be retired, and Leon Washington will be gone. What a quality team.

Sorry I thought Ferguson was older. I know the age of the players on the Jets. 2 people on each line aren’t impossible to replace and Izzo is a special teamer. I will miss Richardson, but there will be other fullbacks. We have young linebackers and a young secondary. Bryan Thomas is 30 and wont be greatly missed. most of the Pats linebackers were all over 30 when they went 18-1.

Doll-fan 341, Being fans of the only 2 teams to be perfect against the NFL, I suggest we both get along. The Jets were the first team to go undefeated a whopping 1-0 record winning Super Bowl 3. Mercury Morris in between puffs on his crack pipe said it isn’t the number in the front that matters. It’s the number in the back and if it’s a 0 you are PERFECT. Deep down I think that is why Doll_fans hate the Jets.. SImply because we were the first undefeated team.
