News: Jets Sign LB Brock Christopher
The Kansas City Star is reporting that the Jets have signed former Missouri linebacker Brock Christopher to a free agent contract.
Christopher started 36 games at middle linebacker for the Tigers and has decent size. He recorded 105 tackles last season, but was not selected in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Falcons originally picked him up as an undrafted free agent, but they released him two weeks ago.
Here’s an article about Christopher, who appears to to be an interesting character to say the least.
Hat tip to Bozzie…

Signed Craig Kobel, and now Christopher, assume these guys are training camp fodder, maybe special teams, they both look like Inside LineBackers…Hope that David Harris is okay… The jets seem to be loaded at Linebacker, Management wants Vernon to play, and he may be ready this year. I wonder if this makes Bryan Thomas expendable. There is always Cleveland, but there are also a few teams Transitioning into a 3-4 (KC, Denver, Green Bay). Murrell has been doing work on Thomas’s side, which could support this crazy notion. Trading Thomas is cap neutral, I would want a player, best you could possibly hope for is a 4th round pick. If this is actually done , its a senior management move designed to promote Gholston.
Maybe the Jets should go after some WRs. Haaaaaaa, what a thought.
Bryan Thomas for Braylon Edwards, perhaps?
…just saying.
If so, then I’d do it.
We don’t need a comedic Dumb and Dumber type guy on defense. We need a guy who knocks opposing players down and spits on them (I saw film of Dick Butkus doing this. My mouth was hanging open).
