If we look past his off field issues (2 girl friend beating charges), there are some big questions that need to be addressed. 1 - Didn't he have hip surgery last year? Can he compete at the level he was at before? 2 - Didn't he drop 18 perfect passes in the red zone last season? He blamed those drops on nerve damage for punching a TV screen with his brother. Can he catch the ball or does he have 1 good had and one stone hand? 3 – If Denver was willing to cut him, what would be the cost the Jets would have to pay? The big issue is, he is a good player but would cost too much ($ and picks) with a pending suspension, and causes distractions. Plax is also a good player who comes very cheep ($ and no picks), but has a pending suspension and causes distractions. I say lets look at Matt Jones who is a good player (not as good as Marshall or Plax), but comes cheep ($ and no picks), with no pending suspensions and doesn’t cause any distractions. At this point in time the Jets are not going to the Super Bowl with questions in regards to QB and WR. Yeah Sanchez will eventually provide answers at QB, but the team still needs a big target that can catch the dam ball! If the Jets are true to their word, and are looking to run the ball more then 50% of the time then they do not need a 5 star WR this year! It’s a no brain’er either stick with what you got or sign a decent WR now, and address a home run hitter at WR next year in the draft. Not sure if this guy would be a good fit.
