Need a little football? Me too.

We’ll be dropping some videos we can find online over the course of the next few days. Here’s Cotchery’s fantastic catch during the Thursday night Patriots game last season.

Does anyone remember about 4 or so years ago where i believe it was Cotchery and it was against the pats and he did like a flip but his knee didnt touch and i thought he made a touchdown. Maybe he didnt i just barely remember the play i remember it was challenged.

  2. avatar Bassett says:

yes indeed! 2006 season. pats fans have to hate him by now. :)

    Great separation as usual.

I don’t care that the receiving core is below average, please just pay Leon!

I was at the game in November and I couldn’t believe he made the play myself, I had to watch again on the screen… the best part though was in overtime and the stadium went dead after Jay Feely hit the game winner, it was a great night.

I was at that game as well, I swore Cotchery’s knee touched the ground after I saw him take off down the field running. Thought there was zero chance of that being a TD…..however the replay proved me wrong, probably the best play I’ve been present for at a football game.

    Great catch!

One of Favre’s better throws of the season too. Of course it was underthrown by ten yards and should have been an easy TD, but still.

    COTCH!!
Guys I Have A Great Story, The Day After This Game I pulled this video up on a big screen in a classroom full of Pats Fans and played awww man they were mad and I loved it.

  8. avatar Bent says:

CHUD – don’t forget Coles’ awesome catch-and-run in the same game…that was almost as good, if not better.

Both plays were bittersweet because the Jets lost. In fact, when Cotch made his play, I think the Jets were losing 24-0.

  9. Remember that catch like it was yesterday, and the other catch where his knee didn’t touch.

    Thanks, Brian. Needed some football.

Man, I was at that game too… Worst part was that he was right in front of me and I thought he was about to break the tackle and the he hit the ground, so I threw my hands up and turned around for a split second. Then the crowd went crazy and by the time I turned around he was in the endzone. I had to watch on the big screen to see what happen.

Coles had a pretty amazing catch and run in that game too. too bad the first half we gave up way too much and couldn’t catch up. I think we came back from 24-0 but it was just too little too late

I’ve been looking for the catch for months and I still can’t seem to find it. I hope Cotchery will make plenty of plays like this year. I think Stuckey and Smith will up some decent stats this year. I’ve heard Clowney hasnt been doing the best but then again I’ve heard Huey W. has been impressing.

My biggest fear on that play was when the flag came out – thought they were going to call OPI like they did in week 2!!!

  13. avatar SackDance99 says:

Yeah, I heard Leberfeld praise Huey. Leberfeld said he was 6-5, but then I’ve seen him listed at 6-4 and 6-2. Getting accurate height stats for NFL players is like getting authentic birth certificates from the Dominican for baseball players.

I finally found it! Ahh, I love it. The last play in the video was good too, to bad it didnt work.

Guys, what are you talking about? This was on November 13, 2008 — the Jets beat the Patriots 34-31 that Thursday night, check the 08′ schedule.

Some people were talking about a previous catch the Cotch made where he looked like he went down, but his knee never hit the ground and he scored a td.

  17. avatar Jets-Fan-4-Life says:

The best Cotch catch was back in 2006/7 with Chad as QB. That was the catch when he rolled over several times when being tackled but kept his feet moving and I believe he scored a TD on that play.

This was the catch that i knew he would eventually take over for Coles.

  18. avatar Jets-Fan-4-Life says:

anyone got a clip of this catch?

  19. avatar BigKatFan says:

This play further solidifies one of my life-long opinions…….Ellis Hobbs is the worst corner in the league. The eagles will get NO production from him.

An open letter to Brian Schottenheimer telling him to get the ball to Leon Washington more…the numbers dont lie

  21. avatar Reprocity says:

How can you guys leave out the ~71 yrd catch and run? He juked 1 guy and was off to the house!

    I’m usre it was 06

He does show some flashes of greatness from time to time which is why I say he’s between a #1 and 2 WR talent wise…

    Ahhhhhhh… football! Now, THAT’S livin’…!

Thanks for the fresh air, Bassett!
