News: Jets Are Big Fans of the (Waiver) Wire

The Jets today announced that they have picked up cornerback Rashad Barksdale on waivers from the New York Giants.

Barksdale is a local kid from Hudson, who went to college at Albany and was a sixth round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago. Last preseason, Bob Glauber wrote that he is a potential cool story. He was only a walk-on at Albany but is clearly a raw, athletic talent, with good size and return skills.

Most exciting of all, everyone knows those Barksdale kids have what it takes to dominate on the corner. Let’s just hope McNulty doesn’t find out…

  1. I have a lot of respect for the NYG front office and how they scout and it looks like my JETS do also. This offseason it seems like we are watching players that fall off their list. Hey what ever works!

  3. The Jets have an assistant GM, previously worked for the Eagles (name , Help) with knowledge of Phiily’s roster.. IMO the Jets are going to look at a lot of ex-eagles…
