Sweet Home Minnesota!
It is no mystery that Brett Favre is likely to come back with the Vikings and I’m wondering when will it be enough? When will Favre finally accept the retirement package and head home to tend to the farm?
No doubt as long as he can… or at least until he can beat the Packers which is a convientally scheduled game for the Vikings week four. Coincidence? I think not.
Amid all the news blurbs and rumors it is not surprising to hear that both parties have a contract agreement ready and Minnesota has already called Reebok to order number 4 jersey’s bearing the name Favre instead Booty [John David Booty's soon to be former number no doubt]. “Barring” any unforseen events, Favre is expected to be at the Vikings training camp in July and is according to reports looking for a home near the MV facility.
This time around at least there will be no contest as to where Favre is going, no debates on ESPN about whether or not he’ll want sunny Florida Orange juice or a Red Delicious apple. But perhaps this was Favre’s plan all along.
Get out of Green Bay after getting the door shoved in his face then get to a team where he’ll no doubt be gone by the end of his first year with said team, retire then get back with a team who plays the Green Bay Packers and for what? I have heard of second thoughts but I can only see Brett playing games at this point.
Although Favre is well respected, he must realize when to stop the rumors, the madness and end these charades. But these are only my thoughts, what do you think is driving Favre to come back to the NFL — to piss off fans and Goodell, payback, ect…?

It seems like forever ago that I actually liked Brett Favre. Now his name just ellicts rage. I hope the Packers destroy him and the Vikings by at least 40 points in each game. It’s too bad the Jets don’t play the Vikings. The Jets secondary would be a good bet to break the record of pick-sixes against Favre.
First, why is this article in this Blog. I thought the Jets released Brett. I don’t see similar, continuous articles about Penny and we drafted him and he played here a number of years instead of just one.
Second, I believe “ect” should be “etc.”
Let’s focus on our team and our guys guys.
harlan
I can hardly contain my indifference.
“Although Favre is well respectd,…….” BY WHOM?
Anybody that respecrs this guy needs some serius therapy !!!
I hope favre comes back and wins the superbowl. Minny will be a sick squad with him on board. Granted of course that he TRAINS IN THE OFFSEASON, MORE THAN HE DID WHEN H CAME ON BOARDS WITH THE JETS.
If after the season he committed to working out, getting the surgery and attending OTA’s, STOP KIDDING YOURSELF HE’D BE A BETTER OPTION THAN CLEMENS OR SANCHEZ.
But… we picked sanchez, so VIVA SANCHEZ, and Brett Favre and his circus could entertain us from afar. I dont get why everyone is hating on the guy.
to expand his legacy and ensure he holds the records he has for as long as theres an NFL. He’s Deff not playing cause he loves the game.
After watching the Joe Buck interview with him I don’t have any ill will towards him anymore. I think he wanted to play last year and his only option was the JETS. He seemed like he really wants to play the same offense that he played in green Bay for 16 years. It seems to me he didn’t stay with the jets because the offense was different and he didn’t have the comfort level that he wanted with it. Would have retired if this didn’t present itself.
He wants to stick it to Ted Thompsen. I really think that’s the only thing going on.
vinny:
How does this sound to you:…….: ” I just want my legacy to be of a hard working (no training camps) average, blue collar (his own dressing room, office sepparate from the guys) working guy like the rest of my teamates”—-B. Farve
Dave TN:
Not only Thompson but how about all GB fans that idolized him? He is sticking it to them also.
How do you like them apples?
As a youth, I idolized Ali. He could’ve retired after beating Foreman and made millions, if not billions, just being Ali. But, he just couldn’t hang up the gloves. Seeing him shaking and feeble today breaks my heart. Maybe Favre just can’t retire, even though he knows he should. Ali, Jordan, Mays, Namath…all stars of the first order, legends in their games couldn’t retire before their games declined. I think the Favre “revenge” theory is misplaced. Until Brett feels that it’s time, he won’t retire, even though he should.
I’m just glad that he’s no longer a Jet and that we have a highly-rated rookie to follow, not the public melodrama of the old warrior that can’t lay down his sword. Brett, good luck and I hope the Jets meet you in the Super Bowl.
I wanted him, and he screwed us. Why has nobody asked why he didn’t get the surgury when the Jets Docs told him he needed it? Oh, yeah, he was using us. F him. I hope the Packers crush him.
I’m not worried about it…IF he makes it to the playoffs, he’ll just lose a game by throwing a stupid pass. It’s happened in every loss he has had in the playoffs this decade.
Can’t blame him for coming back though. Who wouldnt want to “retire” go home, relax, miss mini-camp, then come back and make 10-15 million?
starz31, he will do it again this year. @ED, Farve didnt want to end his game started streak.

Wow! I for one harbor no ill will for Jett Favre. It’s like watching a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood western.
The Good. The Bad & The INT.
… Of course all the solida citizens turned their back on him, until they realize they prefer his ol’ shoot ‘em up, knock ‘em back ways to the young upstart sheriff T-Jack who looks more like Barny Fife shooting himself in the foot. But let’s get back to Plaxico later.
What’s I posting about? Oh yeah, so the ol’ gunslinging ways are getting a lil’ long in the tooth, but he makes friends of enemies and learns some new tricks.
Of course, he rubs a few people wrong along the way, but in the end he’s humble and triumphant. And, likely saved from a weakside sack from an unlikely hero.
You can bet you’re sweet a$$ I’ll be pulling for the Brett and the Minnesota Vicodins to ride off into the sunset.
That is; unless, Sexy Rexy and my new Bro-Namath, Mark Sanchez get in their way!
Yee Haw!!!
I myself feel very TIRED of this Farve-a-paloosa.Maybe we can get a compesatory pick from all this nonsense.Cause he didn’t have to accept the trade to us/N.Y.Jets in the first place and then not to say “look coach my arm is F@#KED up lets give the ball to someone else and save this season.”.Lets not forget his motivating pre game pep talk before the final game.Oh yeah he really made me want to charge the hill with a toe nail clipper that day. What a waste of our emotions.
