So much for summer slacking…
Every summer you hear it. Some athlete spends the month off between minicamps and training camp pigging out and living it up and being not-so-dedicated to the playbook or team-perscribed workout regimen. Well, Jets fans, you’ll be happy to know that the Jets’ strength and conditiong coach won’t let that happen… and he’s using an interesting way to keep track of his players. Twitter.
But what about if one of the Jets were to tweet, “Just woke up, too hungover to work out. Eating a tub of ice cream.”
That’s the kind of think that Jets head strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi might find… interesting.
Alosi is following the team’s tweeters to see if they are following the routines that he has written out for them, and he’s prepared to make house calls if necessary. Even though the players are technically off until they report to training camp on July 30, Alosi’s job is to make sure they arrive in shape.
Well, now. That’s innovative. Good to see the old folks keeping up with us crazy kids and our fancy comp-oo-turs. Oh, FYI, yours truly is newly on Twitter, so catch me at cgriffin415 if you’re interested in what your weekend editor does during the week.

One would hope that Sal is twittering to the players on potential problems with supplements. Like Sal to tell us how his new assistant Kyle Thorne is doing.
I wonder if Sal was summoned to Senior Management offices, to get his spin on Calvins problem.. You would hope Sal and his guys are proactive on this issue..
Any player who puts anything on Twitter that may cause a problem should be cut for being an idiot.
