Just wait and see what this guy says after a season (or however long they give him) of Favre tossing the ball up into triple coverage. He will be singing a different tune. As a Jet fan...been there, done that.

One of the league's best offensive lines, check. One of the league's best defenses, check. One of the league's best running games, check. Are we sure they're not talking about Favre and the '08 Jets?

I actually agree with the author on this. I thought Minny was the perfect spot for Favre LAST season for the same reasons: they have Super Bowl talent on the two lines, and absolutely no QB to speak of. The Jets were/are much farther away, and Favre made no sense for us (I said so at the time). If healthy, I definitely see Favre helping the Vikings a lot this year. They'll still be prone to his horrible decision-making, but their defense will be able to withstand it much better than ours.

When the Jets got Favre, my biggest fear was that he'd fade down the stretch like he did the previous year. Sure enough, he did, but injury-free there's no reason he can't "legitimize the Vikings". However, he will probably wither in the winter again and is on a team where Adrian Peterson has already proven that his durability can be a problem, so he might not be firing on all cylinders in the postseason either. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them reach the playoffs, but I'd definitely bet against them in the postseason.

I believed all along Favre was capable of having a decent season in 2009, but for the Jets, with a new regime, limited cap space and a fanbase needing to see hope for the future, it was an absolute no-brainer to get rid of him.

He's a non-factor now for the Jets, doesn't even warrant discussion.
