I thought Minny was the perfect spot for Favre LAST season for the same reasons: they have Super Bowl talent on the two lines, and absolutely no QB to speak of. The Jets were/are much farther away, and Favre made no sense for us (I said so at the time). If healthy, I definitely see Favre helping the Vikings a lot this year. They'll still be prone to his horrible decision-making, but their defense will be able to withstand it much better than ours. I actually agree with the author on this. Sure enough, he did, but injury-free there's no reason he can't "legitimize the Vikings". However, he will probably wither in the winter again and is on a team where Adrian Peterson has already proven that his durability can be a problem, so he might not be firing on all cylinders in the postseason either. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them reach the playoffs, but I'd definitely bet against them in the postseason. I believed all along Favre was capable of having a decent season in 2009, but for the Jets, with a new regime, limited cap space and a fanbase needing to see hope for the future, it was an absolute no-brainer to get rid of him.
