I would not really call it a camp battle but I am really looking foward to seeing how David Harris plays lined up next to another big time MLB in Bart Scott. He had some injuries last year and did not play bad but it was not the David Harris we saw 2 yrs ago. Should be fun to watch!!

–And I’m with Drew, it would be nice if we could actually have an NFL caliber punter sometime in the 2000s

1. I don’t want to see erik smith on the field at any point during the season. He’s not good.
2. I think kellen clemens should start on week one because i think he will perform well under the added pressure of fighting for the starting job.
3. Douglas is a critical player on the team because we don’t have any legit depth at that position and the team really struggled when kenyon coleman didn’t perform well last year so i don’t want to see something similar happen again this year

Contrary to popular opinion, I’m not all that worried about the frontline starters across the board, or the guys fighting for those spots. We have enough strengths to allow someone to come up to speed as a starter in the short term.

What keeps me up nights is the BU OL & DL. That’s where I will be focusing all camp. We’re so thin on both lines. We have top-of-the-line starters for both sides, but no one has emerged behind any of these guys.

If we lose a starter on either line, as it stands now, we’re back to ’07 — either not be able to move the ball, or not being able to stop it. So my eyes will be glued to who, if anyone, decides he’s more than a Special Teams stud, and can actually play downs in the NFL. And if no one qualifies, what Tanny does to fix this glaring hole.

How about:

Gholston’s mind v. Gholston’s body.

We know Gholston is an amazing physical specimen, but last year he was confused and overwhelmed by the transition from DE to OLB. I’m skeptical about whether Gholston has the talent to be a bona fide NFL player, but he certainly has the physical ability. Can his mind harness that physical ability? IMO, that’s the biggest question of this training camp.

Bent – haha sorry about that… didn’t mean to steal your thunder there. But I think you’re right… Jehuu might be more appropriate… or maybe Danny Woodhead vs. His Size. He might be the only NFL player thats legitimately prescribed HGH.
