Link: Jets’ Fantasy Life Lacking
If you’re like me, and if you’re a football fan, that means 8/10 of you are, you care entirely too much about your fantasy football team. You start ordering preview magazines as soon as the season ends (maybe before if it doesn’t go so well) and have already gone through several mock drafts before even charting your own league’s upcoming selection fiasco. And what fantasy player doesn’t like to have someone his team that plays for the actual team he roots for? Well, if you were planning on going Jets-heavy this year, you may want to re-think.
My overall fantasy drafting recommendations for the Jets would be to expect the Def/ST to finish as a top five defense and draft them accordingly. Leon Washington has decent value as a RB3 or RB4 in PPR leagues only. Jerricho Cotchery can be considered as a WR3 candidate. I would probably also stay away from the other RB’s as the split in carries that I suspect will happen will kill an fantasy value this season for either Jones or Greene singlely. Greene has value as an RB3 in dynasty drafts. Mark Sanchez only has value in dynasty drafts as he looks like he will be a project in the making.
So, um, yeah. To review. Stay far away from Jets offensive players. You know, unless you like giving your friends your money.

If our defense plays as well as advertised and the special teams returns to form- which is likely with the presence of Westoff- the offense will at the very least have the opportunity to wear down defenses with superior time of possession, opening up room for offensive production.
Even KC had two 1000 yard receivers last year with the three headed monster of Thigpen/Huard/Croyle throwing to them.
As far as fantasy is concerned, obviously there is demand to consider when drafting and picking up sleepers in early rounds is a poor drafting strategy. However, i think that there are a few Jets players that will reward their fantasy owners in surprising ways as the year progresses.

Ding Ding Ding Ding! all aboard the trolley to The Land of Make Believe!
But seriously, my team was undefeated last year, so i’m good…

Dustin Keller would be a decent tightend to pick up.
