Camp Files: A Hot Day
Reader Bruce R. (a Cortland native) is at it again with yet another update from this morning’s session. Thanks again Bruce!
The fog and the dew were heavy on the field this morning. However, I knew it was going to be a hot day.
The QB’s had good showings this morning. Sanchez stood out with much zip on the ball. He is starting to look off the safety (finally) prior to throwing. Clem also looked very sharp.
Leon Washington was awesome on kick and punt returns. (Woody, please sign Leon NOW!)
I spent most of my time with the defense. The 11 on 11 drills were awesome today. Jimmy Leonard was the camp standout this morning. He had 2 Int’s, one he flipped back to Lito Sheppard who returned it for a touchdown.
Ahmad Carroll was jawing a lot this morning. Sanchez threw a TD and was letting the D know he burned them. Amhad started jawing with Sanchez letting him know he is still a rookie.
The big news of the day is Jenkins. He did limp off the field and did not return to practice. His story was on twitter before he was able to get off the field. Ya gotta love technology!

The second Day of Training Camp, Morning session, started out very foggy and cold. But eventually turned out to be a hot one.
Mark Sanchez was the first player out on the field this morning. Probably because of the bad day he had yesterday in the afternoon.
Probably a good thing, cause both Clemens and Sanchez had a good day at camp today.
Sanchez showed some leader ship by giving one of the rookie recievers a nice talk by telling him,” You havent catched anything”, after he had dropped quite alot of passes from Sanchez this morning and yesterdays afternoon session.
But Sanchez had a gun for an arm and was bulleting them to the recievers and threw a nice 40 or 50 yard TD.
After the TD he did a little dance with one of the recievers and Ahmad Carroll didnt take that to well and started to talk smack. Sanchez of course gave it right back, good to know that hes not taking crap and showing leadership.
Jenkins was shooked up alittle after a running play. After getting off the groud he yelled out load,”F***” and everyone started to laugh. But as we all know Jenkins a tough SOB!! So no worries.
And the defense had a great afternoon, with 2 interceptions coming from Leonard and the defense just ripping it up, it looks like the jets are coming together as a team.
