Camp Files: Sunday Evening Practice

Bruce R. checks in again from Cortland with some of his thoughts from yesterday’s afternoon practice.

Not much to report today in the way of big plays or bad plays. Kellen had a better day than Mark. I noticed Revis was back returning punts again today. This makes me nervous! Our only shutdown corner should not be returning punts. Too much of an injury risk.

One incident overshadowed most of the practice for me. Jenkins came out on the field as Steve Overmyer was interviewing Chansi Stuckey. Of course I yelled to Jenks for an autograph. He proceeds to work me over and make me earn his auto. We were jawing for about 5 min. when I finally surrendered in defeat. As he approached me about 20-30 fans started pushing forward to get Jenks to sign. After all he put me through he came to me first and signed my football. WOW! I have never worked that hard for an autograph before. However, this one will be memorable. Thanks Kris!

P.S. Jenkins, you still have my sharpie!

We’re not really much for autographs ourselves, but we’re glad you got it!  As far as the pen, if you’re not willing to go to these lengths to get your pen back, then you didn’t deserve it in the first place … :)

Be sure to send us your thoughts about the team (who looked good? who didn’t?) pictures, videos or whatever to us at thejetsblog@gmail.com or with a #jetscamp tag on Twitter. We’ll make sure to put you in the running for Best Buy Gift Cards if you do. So far, Bruce is going to go wire to wire.

  2. Yeah I agree great job guys!

  3. Yeah, these reports are great….and hey, your wife or girl friend may not care to hear about your Jets Training Camp adventure, but we’ll all be listening (reading) intently!

So you’ve got THAT going for ya… :-)

  4. The weather yesterday cleared up nicely! KC threw more pics but Sanchez was a little more erratic on his passes. It looks like Mark needs to settle down and he’ll be fine. I was disapointed he didn’t get any reps with the first team.

Stuckey was a little disapointing though he had a nice TD in 11-11’s from Sanchez. He ran an out route that got picked off by Lito and he just didn’t seem to fight for it. Not to nit pick but he was wearing shorts that went way past his knees that were falling off here and there… just wish he’d lace it up and be ready to practice. If he really started to focus and clean it up out on the field he will be good at the other WR spot.

Kareem Brown looked pretty good for a guy that was over 300lbs last year! He caught a lot of balls and looked ok running routes. I think he can be a legit TE.

    Leon was Leon

Lito was freaking great! Awsome pick of Keller and the man is like glue on whoever he covers.

Gholston was getting good pressure and maybe could have been sack or two. He was taking it to woody pretty good.

Cole CB(#34) looked decent as did lowery. The secondary is just flat out good!
