You Jet fans are in for a very serious wake-up call. New Defensive Coordinator and D-Line Coach, Secondary, Linebackers Coaches, All new and with serious attitude. Frank Bush (DC) is gonna throw the kitchen sink at the Jets mainly because the anemic Texans D never blized in history. Texans win 42-6

Fonzie, nothing compares to the 2005 debacle, oh what a bad year. I say we go 11-5 on the play of a dominant Defense.

I see this game being a defensive struggle. But if we can control the trenches, it should come out to a good game.

On a side note, I've noticed Revis sometimes struggles against those big physical receivers. So I am really looking forward to that matchup and the one between D'brick & Williams

this will be a tough game. i think that this is actually the texans year. major draft picks, but Harlan is right, since its week 1 they wont know the system well. What really hurts the Jets in this game is the absence of Pace. Slaton is not only a good runner, but is also a good receiver out of the backfield, and not having pace hurts alot . On the Andre Johnson topic, he'll be limited some by Revis, but what im afriad of is Walters and Daniels. With Lito Sheppard and Lowery battling for the number 2 corner spot, im not convinced that either one of them can contain Walters, so that might be tough. Also, last years Jets defense was alright, but tight ends killed the Jets week in and week out. Im not sure about the scheme Rex is gonna run, but Daniels has proven to be one of the best in the game and is gonna be tough to cover. On the other hand, I believe and hope Clemens will be our starter come opening day, and we will be throwing short, quick passes and pounding it up the middle with T rich and TJ. We'll run at the unexpierenced and overrated Brian Cushing all day. I know this is way to early to start predicting, but ....
Jets 20 Texans 13
Clemens 17/24 183 TD
Jones 24 car 104 yds.
Washington 6 car. 35 yds 3 rec 32 yds TD
Cotchery 6 rec 71 yds
Clowney 5 red 41 yds TD

Schuab 24/37 298 yds TD
Slaton 18 car. 68 yds
Johnson 5 rec 54 yds TD
Daniels 8 rec 83 yds

This camp so far has the makings of the 2005 campaign. Bradway trades a first pick for Jolley, we drafted Nugent, Pouha, and Rhodes (no offensive linemen or defensive linemen in the first or second rounds). Edwards doesn't organize training camp correctly. Ellis fights a little bit with Moore, we get into fights with the Giants before the season starts and then we get handed by the Chiefs in a hostile enviornment in Arrowhead. It starts a downward trend and eventual 4-12 finish. This draft we give up 5 players for Sanchez, two for Greene, do not address the trenches, have countless fights and tension throughout camp. There is no structure for this camp except for the workout days. I have seen more talking than studying. Remember this Texans team is going to start off hot regardless on what we throw at them.

Andre Johnson vs D. Revis

D'Brick vs Mario Williams

Sanchez 1st game (probably)

Houston Offense vs Jets new and improved defense

It should be an interesting matchup in week 1. The team has been a slow starter under Kubiak, but they typically play much better at home than they do on the road. Our offense matches up well with their defense in that we run the ball and they are a terrible run defense. They have great pass rushers, but they still have yet to learn to play all three downs. Their secondary also doesnt catch t he ball much.

On defense its a big test. When Schaub is healthy, which isnt often as he makes Chad look like Favre in terms of durability, they have a deadly passing attack. Schaub makes things happen for that team and they can keep you off balance with their run game. As a fan they remind me alot of what we saw when Denver tore us up last year and stopping this offense might get that bad taste out of my mouth.

I think Andre is the best WR in the league, but - bizarrely - David Barrett used to do quite well against him.

I'm not sure he's still in the league though.

The best approach to a guy like that might be to "let him get his" and make sure you stop everything else. That's what many NBA teams used to do with Michael Jordan.
