Link: Kareem Brown Dealing With Death of Good Friend

DL/TE Kareem Brown witnessed a tragic car accident of a friend, just days ago, but has decided to perservere and try to work through his grief with his football team.

“I came up because I wanted to get away,” he said. “There were a lot of things going on in Miami, and I just wanted my head to be clear. So I came up to be with the team and they supported me.”

The 25-year-old Brown has received counseling from the Jets’ team psychologist, Dr. Sara Hickman.

“We left it up to him” as to when he would return, coach Rex Ryan said. “You just take as much time as you need and he wanted to come back. … He thought it would better for him to be with this family and get in there playing football.”

Dealing with this can’t be easy, but we’re pulling for him. We have high hopes for Brown, and hope that he can make this team and then contribute from the #2 TE spot.
