    I did not notice a link to Don Banks of SI, who included Sanchez in his list of losers for Week 2, this of course before his annointing. I copy/paste below;

    • LOSER — Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez might well go on to enjoy his share of Matt Ryan- or Joe Flacco-like rookie highlights this season, but if so, I didn’t see many hints of the big things to come Monday night in Baltimore. Though his last pass of the night was his best of the night — that 19-yard touchdown strike to Leon Washington with just less than six minutes left before the half — Sanchez looked every bit the deer-in-the-headlights for most of the five drives he played in his first NFL career start.

Facing Baltimore’s swarming defense on the road is about as tough an initiation as you’re going to get, even in the preseason. But Sanchez didn’t exactly put the Jets quarterback competition to bed with his collection of poor throws (the Ravens should have taken his first two passes to the house for touchdowns), sloppy ball handling, delay of game penalties and general lack of execution. He wouldn’t even have gotten a shot to throw that face-saving touchdown pass to Washington if the Jets running back hadn’t somehow picked up a first down on a third-and-10 run. That play was designed to just get New York into better field goal range and limit Sanchez’s chances of making another mistake.

All in all, it reminded me once again of two things: Sanchez started a mere 16 games at USC, and we would do well to remember the desultory track record of first-round quarterbacks who skip their senior seasons and enter the NFL early. Sanchez and Detroit’s Matthew Stafford (who also struggled in Week 2) might both still surprise us this season, but the sooner we let the Ryan and Flacco comparisons go, the better.

How are the Eagles loaded at WR? Every year there would be complaints about how McNabb lacks the WR to help the team and that the Eagles would do nothing about aquiring them.

Well they finally have, grabbing DeShaun Jackson last year and Jeremy Maclin this year….so that means if we trade its going to be for one of the left overs.

I’d rather keep our guys our even pick up Matt Jones than trade a pick/players for guys we KNOW aren’t anything really special.

I just perused the Daily News site and was disgusted by the comments section. I want to thank everyone here who despite disagreeing with my views have disagreed in a respectful manner, I would have been shouted down with curse words and vitriole if I dared to disagree there.

Also will be changing my “name” since I realize the “wise” part comes off as arrogant which was certainly never my intent.

I do not pretend to know better than those running football organizations, but after witnessing years of bad decisions by management have learned to question their decisions rather than accepting that they know better than everyone else if football.

Anyone that drafted Gholston certainly deserves to have there next high pick doubted, in my opinion.

Someone insinuated that I am projecting my opinion of Clemens onto the players in the locker room, but I lifted that opinion from a TV report somewhere that stated Clemens had plenty of supporters in the room.

It was a few weeks back and certainly could have changed by now, but any player that has been with a team for four years will certainly have a faction that is behind him in a room of 50+ players.

Just like there is a reported split in MINNY right now, there must be a few in the Jets lockerroom that do not like this decision. That’s all I’m saying on the matter, I will move on and let the chips fall where they may, rooting for the kid to be all that he is cracked up to be while hoping Clemens gets a shot down the line to prove the Jets were wrong about him, hopefully in a scenario that they at least get some compensation for a player taken pretty damn high by the same front office that drafted the kid everyone loves now.

Thanks, Wise (or whatever your new name will be). We will NEVER let that happen here.

I’ve had my eye on Kevin Curtis throughout the whole Brandon Marshall-gate phenomenon. He’d be a perfect fit at flanker. I’m not sure he’ll be available, though. Reggie Brown will probably be an outright release, and while I don’t love him, he’s certainly better than what we have at the bottom of the roster.

I like Kevin Curtis but Reggie Brown is a solid three or four years younger and we’d get him on the cheap. But it’s hard to say you like one of these guys or want one of these guys when a receiver the caliber of Brandon Marshall is a bold trade offer away.

Thanks for the props, Wise Guy. I’m glad that you agree that This is the only place to go for your Jets ‘Juice’ of the day.

    Bent, thanks.

Bubs, on this we can agree, this is the place to be.

I am going nowhere, will hang around and play devil’s advocate.

    Still pondering a new name.
