  1. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

Only two things matter tonight, that the kid shows he can run the offense while limiting the miscues, and no injuries.

  2. avatar Harvlis says:

Three things — Kick their ………

  3. avatar Snakeman says:

Someone please remind me, how many players are allowed on the team before the roster cut to 75 players? Was it 83 or around there?

  4. avatar Snakeman says:

Wise old jets fan – add to that list vernon gholston performing serviceably with the starters

  5. avatar JP says:

Is this on TV up in the Boston area? I’m a long time Jet fan living in Pats country, doesn’t seem to be on the tube. Anyone?

  6. avatar Bassett says:

hey has anyone found a live stream to the game? justin.tv doesn’t seem to have it, or i can’t find it.

  7. avatar Bent says:

    Snake – It’s 80

  8. avatar starz31 says:

yeah cant find it on justin.tv

  9. avatar john l says:

were the @#$% is the game its not on 2 or 5

  10. avatar john l says:

    my bad its on 5

  11. avatar bono-zoffa says:

how about giving a big shout out to NBC for picking such an “impartial” announcing crew for tonite’s game. bob papa and carl banks? c’mon. that’s a bad job by nbc.

  12. avatar Benny says:

Wow, that looked way to easy. What happened to our defense. They walked down the field completed everything, we gave up 20 on the punt, 10 in pentalties and decided to let Jacobs stand open in the end zone…….

  13. avatar Benny says:

Nothing like putting a little extra pressure on Sanchez…

  14. avatar The Ed(itor) says:

    SAME OLD JETS!

  15. avatar Benny says:

    3 and out.

  16. avatar Benny says:

So what are the expectations here? I hope for a solid performance from sanchez (no turnovers would be great). Solid game from Gohlston, Clowney and Keller and some magic from the defense, Leon and Jones. I would like to see us win, but don’t want to be greedy.

  17. avatar Benny says:

Where is the run defense from last year.?

  18. avatar Green Lantern says:

    dang Lito.

  19. avatar Harvlis says:

This first quarter made clear two things. Lito Sheperd needs to be cut and Carl Banks is the worst announcer in the history of pro football.

  20. avatar Green Lantern says:

The guys are just fast so he keeps grabbing thats all. He doesn’t need to be cut over it.

  21. avatar Mars says:

Lito & Swipe will be picked on all season. we need to hope that the opportunistic plays make up for the vulnerability.

  22. avatar Rich Forestano says:

Hey E. Weeks, For some reason I can’t get into the chat.

  23. avatar Rich Forestano says:

Lito needs to stop with the hands.

  24. avatar Rich Forestano says:

Scott just takes it away from Jacobs. Pretty sick

  25. avatar Green Lantern says:

I love Bart’s passion tackling without his helmet aww man.

  26. avatar ML says:

Schott is calling plays like Sanchez is a seasoned veteran. Run the ball on first down, throw some short passes, let the kid roll out of the pocket where he seems to be comfortable.

  27. avatar james_d says:

Wow a Vernon Gholston spotting! Shame it was 20 yards from the line of scrimmage!

  28. avatar ML says:

Gholston just does not belong on the field. He finds a way to be exploited on every single play. I know its the preseason but he is really showing absolutely nothing promising.

  29. avatar Rich Forestano says:

    Nice stop by the D

  30. avatar largebarge says:

WOW!!! Lito Looks like an old man out there, This really worries me!!! What good is it having a shutdown guy like Revis, if Lito is gonna take pass interfernce on every play??? He seriously needs alot of work!!!

  31. avatar largebarge says:

    BIG DRIVETIME!!!

  32. avatar Green Lantern says:

    DAMN INTERNET MISSED TD THROW

  33. avatar ridinmywave says:

Their stuffing the box every oppuortunity, so our run game isn’t saying much regardless….4anchez has to stop checking down every damn time and staring down receivers so we cam open that up.

  34. avatar ML says:

Love the toughness he showed taking that hit..

Love it..But can we pick up at least 1 blitzer?

  35. avatar E. Weeks says:

    Rich,

You entered the password correct? If not I’m not quite sure why it is acting up.

  36. avatar ridinmywave says:

Stuckey should be on “dancing with the stars” with that type of foot work lol

  37. avatar largebarge says:

    YEAH BOYYYYYY!!!!

  38. avatar Rich Forestano says:

I don’t have a password. Could you send it to me?

  39. avatar Green Lantern says:

Geez Sanchez Keller wide open in the middle and he checks down to TJ.
    Rookie mistake.

  40. avatar E. Weeks says:

Actually its up above in the post, sanchez6

  41. avatar Stormfront13 says:

Does anyone have the password, he’s password protecting it at halftime

  42. avatar largebarge says:

My God!!!! How impressive does David Harris look??? It’s like he’s in on every tackle!!!

  43. avatar Harvlis says:

The difference maker was the strip by Bart Scott, with his helmet off. The Sanchez throw to Stuckey was inspirational, as well.

Play calling sucks, as usual. Schottenheimer had the opportunity to establish the run and never did. The Giants starters looked tired in the second quarter. We could have bludgeoned them down the field, if we would have continued to rush the ball. At the end of the half, when you have no timeouts, the sideline is where you want to be. What good is the middle of the field, if the clock runs out.

  44. avatar Ryan says:

lol some of these posts make me lol

    -cut lito sheppard
-”same old jets” after one series
-take vernon gholston off the field

I do agree about the announcing. I hope I never have to hear a Jets game called by Giants announcers EVER again!!! According to the objective announcers Lito sheppard is lazy and the jets have basically gotten away with every call.
Gotta love the Sanchez play he looks 100% more comfortable out there as opposed to last week

  45. avatar Harvlis says:

    Ryan,

You can beat Lito Sheperd. He couldn’t cover rookies. How many times did he get beat. Every single play! No way this guy should start. He doesn’t know how to play the position. No wonder, he was on the bench for Philly.

  46. avatar starz31 says:

    dsrvyiuwgtwiubrybr44

  47. avatar CWPOST1993 says:

I agree with Harvlis .. Lito must go ! He lacks fundamentals. Ghloston also looks lost

  48. avatar patpat says:

way to many penalties on the team as whole. i hope lito sheppard burns in hell

  49. avatar starz31 says:

havent been able to see much, but i heard plenty about lito’s penalties…were they bad plays in which he was getting beat and he made contact or were they just bad calls and he was playing tight coverage?

  50. avatar The Ed(itor) says:

I am not impressed with our Defense. Our DEs get no pressure. And #50 is invisible. The DBs look lost in this “D”.

And we can’t pick up the blitz. I would like to Sanchez whwn he has more than 2 seconds to unload the ball.

  51. avatar Green Lantern says:

wow these Receivers are just too fast for him he did fine against the Ravens and the Rams. How does Gholston look lost? Im curious as to what you are going to make up.

  52. avatar Mars says:

When is Leongetting paid? All he doe is make plays. Everyone says he can’t carry the load. Y can’t he? Undersized guy like Wesbrook & Barber did/are?

  53. avatar Green Lantern says:

Starz31- The Giants are already familiar with Lito and his inability to cover some of their receivers so the keep picking on him and when those receivers get him a little bit he grabs them.

  54. avatar starz31 says:

mars, no question they need to pay Leon…especially if they plan on giving him more touches this season and theres potential for a breakout whichm if it happens, will only increase his value but if you sign him now we may end up paying less

  55. avatar ridinmywave says:

Leon can acrry the load………on the edges. You run leon between the tackles, its a different story.

  56. avatar Green Lantern says:

    GHOOOOOOOSSSTTT

  57. avatar Green Lantern says:

    Yall see him now?

  58. avatar Ed L says:

    Ghoooossssttttooolllllnnnnnn its anout time!!!

  59. avatar Green Lantern says:

Helmet to Helmet BUT Hey its his first time getting there.

  60. avatar CA Jets Fan says:

Can we please pay Leon Washington? I like Chansey, Jerricho, David Clowney and Dustin Keller. This passing attack is even better with Leon. We need to pay him and split carries 40 40 20 with TJ and SG.

Thoughts? Give him 6 mil a year for 5 years.

  61. avatar CA Jets Fan says:

Sanchez looked good tonight. I really liked the offense. The defense, as expected so far looks nice. I am sure they are not showing everything, and if we have some life with Gholsten and Westermann combining time awaiting Pace we will be alright.

    Go JETS!

  62. avatar CA Jets Fan says:

No faith in Clemens..not even throwing the ball. Are we going to have 4 RB’s for the year? Maybe that is why we are standing pat on WR’s too..

  63. avatar Vinny says:

Gholston. Yeah, he got a sack, becasue the Offense line didnt pick him up at all. Whoo hoo. Then he blew it with a penalty. He followed it yp screwing up the next play and giving up 5 yards. The guy sucks

  64. avatar CA Jets Fan says:

Also, nice to see the Jets starting secondary w/o lowery. Sanchez out threw both Giants Qb’s so far with 7 less atempts, and supposively one of the worst WR corps versus one of the best.

Eli was at 9/21 for 91 yards…seriously? That is worth 90 plus million?

  65. avatar LukeV says:

I retract everything i said last week!!! (if you remember)
Sanchez looked good tonight and the DEFENSE looked even better!!!! Go JETS!!!

  66. avatar AL says:

    Westerman!!

  67. avatar Harvlis says:

Coaching is everything. There is no way Bill Parcells would have given the Giants another shot at winning this game. It started with the kickoff return. The returner went right to the sidelines and gave us horrible field position. Then we run the ball three times and out. Now the Giants have field position. Schottenheimer needs to go. He stinks.

  68. avatar Brad says:

    Sanchez looked pretty good.
Cotchery should of caught that ball in the endzone, hit him right in chest shoulder area!
Thomas Jones didnt do anything to impress.
Leon should be carrying the ball the most.
Our secondary and defense was not impressive- got lucky the Giants WR’s dont know how to catch- 9 drop balls!
Defense couldnt get pressure, 0 sacks on Eli consistently.
    Stuckey had a good game
    Penalties were horrible!
Punter needs work- one was like 36 yards!

  69. avatar Mark says:

the reason it was Papa and Banks is because it was a Giants home game. if the Jets were the home team it would have been Ian Eagle and Buttle.

  70. avatar Green Lantern says:

What does TJ have to prove?

  71. avatar Joe says:

How do you spell bust GHOLSTEN he will never be in a MR CLEAN commercial. His uniform will never get dirty

  72. avatar john l says:

    I’M HAPPY

  73. avatar AKA Jack says:

As I’ve been saying for months, Sanchez is the real deal. Once this kid puts it all together the Jets are going to be a lot of fun for as long as he stays healthy.

  74. avatar Ryan says:

Exactly Green Lanters your absolutely right, TJ has nothing to prove we should be here analyzing Thomas Jones this is the preseason. We still have to keep it in perspective. Anyone who passes judgement on veterans in preseason is a joke. Especially if the guy is a starter. Some people just need something to complain about all the time. Preseason is to watch guys like Sanchez and Gholston and the O-line depth the bubble guys etc. Instead theres people here whining about the play calling and saying established guys stink and need to be off the team in the PRE-SEASON. I appreciate the rest of you guys who actually take it for what it is and arent an overly negative cliche Jets fan. My hat tip to you guys.

  75. avatar ryan says:

Haa ur right if I’m not mistaking tj was the leadin rusher in the afc last year doesn’t tht prove enough. but anyway sanchez looked good stuckey nd cotch nd the secondary looked good except lito. The smash brothrs (bart nd harris) looked unstoppable its gonna be a good year I feel it
